Sony to launch attack on Wii this Christmas with PSiiMote
In2Games to unveil motion-sensing peripherals for PS2 games at the Leipzig Gaming Convention
The first six titles will be available at retail in time for Christmas for £29.99.
The games – which include Realplay Tennis, Realplay Pool, Realplay Golf, Realplay Racing, Realplay Bowling and Realplay Puzzlesphere – are made for use with wireless controllers that emulate tennis rackets, pool cues, golf clubs and steering wheels, amongst others.
The motion-sensing technology used in the peripherals is called Freedom. It is currently still in development, having recently attracted £7.6 million in venture capital funding.
In2Games will be hoping to tap into the huge popularity of existing wireless gaming controllers such as that of Nintendo’s Wii.

Well i hope they do come out with something like the wii mote i have a nintendo Wii and i think is good but i dont like the low quality graphics or the 5-12 year old games they have so i think would be a good idea to have a wii mote on the ps3 so we can enjoy the fun of the remote with the high quality games and better graphics.
I’m amazed to the extent at which Sony will steal other companies ideas and pretend like they are the best. First, lets steal the internal hard drive from xbox, then lets steal SONY HOME from Second Life, then lets steal Nintendo’s motion controller, then lets steal achievements from Microsoft and call them trophies…. I want to know the last time Sony had a good original idea. Sony is the biggest bandwagon jumper ever and they should be ashamed. No wonder why they slipped to # 3 in the console war, they are always playing catch-up behind Microsoft and Nintendo.
I agree with mmikej24…the reason that Sony succedded with the PSX and PS2 was because of the innovation. They were the leaders, they were the ones with the bright ideas. Now…Sony is just trying to play catch-up.
They’re so hellbent on trying to match every feature on the 360/Wii that they forget about trying to innovate their own system.

I remember that when the Wii’s controller was first announced people questioned whether it would be gimmicky. You really have to toe the line with this sort of thing, and if this actually comes out the 6 game library mentioned above will likely be the only games to use the new controller.

mmikej wtf are u talking about- why are you saying that sony are ALWAYS behind M$, sony entered the game market waaaaaay before M$ did u dumb fuck and how is a n internal hard drive stealing ideas- microsoft didnt invent hard drives and M$ decided that it was acceptable to put a measly 20 gig on the 360 which probably cost them around a fiver to manufacture whilst sony realised that people need more space in the long run and put on a reasonable 60 gig hard rive and made it piss-easy to put in a bigger one yourself
If your going to get technical, there was a remote control for the PS2, meant for use when playing a DvD on it, and you could play games with it.
So *gasp* that means sony had a remote to play games with before nintendo, and that makes nintendo the rip-offers.
