I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!

It looks like Bay will be a Blu-ray supporter as well. So much for the HD-DVD comeback.

Paramount Home Entertainment will issue new releases day and date as well as catalog titles exclusively on HD DVD. Today’s announcement does not include films directed by Steven Spielberg as his films are not exclusive to either format.
How do you like THEM apples? Spielberg wouldn’t let them take his films to HD-DVD because he’s all about Blu-ray Disc. So what do Paramount and DreamWorks do? They bury that news as the last bit of information in their press release. Greedy little bastards. Hey… Moneysoft talks apparently.

Now that Spielberg is onboard with Blu-ray the HD wars are over.

PlayStation 3 sales will be higher than Xbox 360′s for the month of July, Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said today. In a note to investors, Pachter predicted sales of 160,000 PlayStation 3s and 115,000 Xbox 360s when the NPD results are released next week.
Of course, he also predicted sell-through of 330,000 Wii, more than double PlayStation 3. So it wouldn’t exactly be a victory. The bump in predicted sales comes from the fact that the PlayStation 3 pricing adjustments hit in July, the drop in Xbox sales from the early negative publicity resulting from the “red ring of death” warranty issue.
Pachter predicts total industry sales of $425 million, up 13.5% from July 2006.

SPOnG: Maybe one of the problems for Sony is that Wii has been such a phenomenon in terms of sales that there is perhaps a tendency for people to compare PS3 sales unfavourably with Wii.
Jamie Macdonald: Could I just point something out – that PlayStation 2 is still outselling Wii in all the major markets. End of story.

Looks like Wii won’t even be able to catch PS2. Get ready for another Sony dominated generation.

In2Games to unveil motion-sensing peripherals for PS2 games at the Leipzig Gaming Convention
The first six titles will be available at retail in time for Christmas for £29.99.
The games – which include Realplay Tennis, Realplay Pool, Realplay Golf, Realplay Racing, Realplay Bowling and Realplay Puzzlesphere – are made for use with wireless controllers that emulate tennis rackets, pool cues, golf clubs and steering wheels, amongst others.
The motion-sensing technology used in the peripherals is called Freedom. It is currently still in development, having recently attracted £7.6 million in venture capital funding.
In2Games will be hoping to tap into the huge popularity of existing wireless gaming controllers such as that of Nintendo’s Wii.

After many months of anticipation I finally got my copy of Bioshock and played through it over the past few days. There are many things to like about Bioshock such as the graphics (not animation), parts of the story and the water effects. That’s about where the good stuff ends.
First let me say how excited I was for the game after playing the demo on the 360. While the animation seemed stiff and you could tell the 360 was being pushed too hard it still looked like it had a lot of potential. So imagine my disappointment when I got the final version only to find none of the animation hitches, shooting glitches and AI was cleaned up. I also wonder how much better the graphics would’ve been had they not been compressed to fit on a DVD. Now I do not fault the developers for this, they only had so much system power to work with so maybe this will all be addressed with the PS3 version when it comes out.
To conclude, let this game cook in the oven just a little bit longer and wait for the superior PS3 version. Cleaned up textures, animations, AI, extra weapons, Home space, standard HDD and Blu-ray will make this flawed game into a perfect gem.
SDF Score: 5/10
