SDF Review: Warhawk (PS3) 10/10 (Multiplayer GOTY)

Well it finally hit last Tuesday, the game Sony fans have been waiting for all summer has arrived. From the moment you start playing, you’re in awe of how the game feels. The fast paced action, the intuitive controls and wide variety of weapons and vehicles makes Warhawk a joy to play. If you’re not chasing down a Warhawk with homing missiles, you’re blowing the enemy away in a sturdy tank or racing across the map with a captured flag, laying mines for unsuspecting enemy combatants or calling down an air strike from afar (my personal favourite ;p).
Warhawk has several modes of play such as the usual death match, team death match and capture the flag but also introduces zone play where your team battles for strategic zones across the map and the dogfighting mode whereby you’ll be spending the entire match in a warhawk. Five maps are included and can be further subdivided for larger or smaller groups of players, Insomniac have really done a great job in creating a good range of maps and modes that will keep you coming back for more.
Sony have also come up trumps with providing dedicated servers for your Warhawk gaming pleasure with more servers coming up every day to meet the huge demand for the game. Once again, Sony have shown how online play should be run and does not have to cost a subscription for its use. The game ships in two forms; one being a PSN download fron the PSN store for $40 while a hard copy with headset can be had for a very respectable $60.
Warhawk is set to become the multiplayer game of this generation and has set a very high standard for future titles such as Halo3 and COD4 which may find themselves lacking in the diversity and sheer enjoyment that can be had with Warhawk.
SDF Final Score: 10/10 Multiplayer GOTY

Wow.. Lacking Diversity? Warhawk has 5 maps, 6 weapons, 2 vehicles.. and 1`type of plane.. nearly a year in development.. right.. 10/10 I may be a Sony Fan boi but even this doesn’t deserve a 10 on 10. Maybe a 6.

The game is good and fun and if you dont have a headset go buy the hard copy if you have one downloaded from PSN, Also you dont have a monthly fee to pay, like the 360, that make it better i really dont like the idea that i have to pay to play online, well i really thing Warhawk is good but to compare the game to Halo3 and COD4? I believe there equally good and $60 – $40 dollars thats good compare to the stupid people that pay $120 dollars for Halo3 (idiots).

I will bet you a million dollars, SDF, that you can’t give any PS3 exclusive a score of anything other than 100%. Did you know that your console doesn’t have a single game averaging above 90% on Metacritic? Of course, there’s no such thing as bursting bubbles on this site. I’m amazed by how hardened you bunch of fanboys are.

Do I really need to point out to you that there isnt any such thing as “Multiplayer GOTY”, you either have the GOTY or you dont.

Halo 3 has over 20 weapons, 9 vehicles, 4 grenades, 8 bits of equipment, online co op for 4 people, saved films, and forge.
That’s several times the content Warhawk gives you. And you get a single player game.
I’m still waiting for that lair review. Whats the matter? Afraid people will thin you are full of shit?

Haha, even Halo 2 beats the number of games per day that is being played right now then Warhawk will ever do. And with the Halo 3 release just around the corner, well, I think we all know which game is the next online hit.
Oh and even though I am totally on the 360 side in this whole console wars I do own a PS3 and bought Warhawk and sure, it’s fun for a couple of hours, but nothing we haven’t seen, felt or done before so it’s really not a 10/10 but more like a 6-7/10.
Anyways, keep up the fun writing, always makes me laugh when I come here

Good…
Lord…
I really wanna know what planet you live on, really I do cuz it must not be Earth. Still I guess Warhawk must be so great, I mean the Halo 3 ‘beta’ had… Well I forget the number of players but ‘a ton’ will work. And well I guess you haven’t seen any of the Call of Duty 4 Beta Video’s… Oh let me guess, the PS3 is going to get a Beta for Call of Duty 4 in like a month.
Please keep this up, I can see this site becoming the best ‘fake’ Gamer site on the net.

Still waiting for that LAIR review. If this site is only going to review good PS3 games, you arent going to have very much content now are you? I have heard good things about Warhawk but its lack of single player is kind of a drag and Im not sure this game would be considered a system seller, which is exactly what the PS3 needs considering Xbox and Wii have sold almost 3 times as many consoles.

This game might not be a 10/10 but it is not a 7 and definitely not a 6 most game sites gave it an 8.0 – 9.2
With the exceptions of PSM Magazine and if you want proof here are a few links you can go to that are not PS or Sony fan boys

This game has set a high standard for such games as Halo 3 and COD 4…
Which will both surpass said standards with ease, I’m afraid.

Halo has always had best console multiplayer i see that changing in about… a few eternitys. so Halo only has 16 player online, half as much as warhawk but at least we xbox 360 owners get a real game.

I still have yet to try this game, I really don’t like this type of game though or Halo for that matter, the only shooters that satisfy me are the ones from Ubi, GRAW and Rainbow Six FTW!
