Kikizo: Killzone 2 is the best looking console FPS bar none (sorry COD4 fans)
Respected gaming website Kikizo has managed to land themselves a preview of Guerrilla’s upcoming masterpiece Killzone 2.
Here’s just some of the things they had to say:

there is 30fps, and there is Killzone 2 30fps. This engine pulls of a motion blur effect that is lovelier than you ever have seen. I was previously a 60fps whore, but in motion this game shows that with the right technique 30fps games can look basically as awesome.
No doubt XFans who’ve seen neither RAGE, COD4 or Killzone 2 first hand will chime in with their ‘thoughts’ on the matter. But that’s to be expected.

I love how when a site says something positive about the ps3 it is labeled as unbiased and well respected, but every other site that give lair a bad review is dismissed out of hand.
I don’t put much stock in previews for the very reason that people said the same shit about lair…and look what happened there.
So that “Supercomputer on a chip” combined with 2 nvidia RSX units can at best muster 30fps?

yea the game does look good, even great… but “the best looking console FPS bar none” first off i think bioshock has already taken that title, and second thing. Stop smoking crack its bad for you.
Even if Killzone 2 was the best looking console FPS (which I dont think it will be), remember that great graphics dont mean great gameplay. Lets all remember how bad the original killzone… How it was hyped as the HALO killer and then when it came out, all the hype went away real quick and the 7.5 average reviews started tumbling out. Guerilla has yet to prove they can make a decent game, and great graphics cant cover up bad gameplay. How do I know the gameplay is bad? I dont. I just know that the gameplay for the original was bad, and why you make a sequel to bad game is beyond me.
Oh good. A site I’ve never heard has given a game being produced by a lousy company the thumbs up for running at 30fps on a PS3 and hiding with a motion blur.
Thats me convinced. Killzone 2 is going to be the best game ever.
Anyone else find it fascinating that the only defense SDF ever has is “OMG GRAPHECKS ARE TEH AWESUMZ”. How about some original gameplay? Hm?
This may sound odd but if i’m gonna pay a ridiculous amount of money for a console that has very few games that i would want then i would expect the games to look pretty damn good
but since its till 30 fps its very possible that when it comes to intense battles then the framerate will go completely tits up, motion blur can’t make up for a low framerate

Gears of War is not 60fps and it look good i believe it was 30fps and it fry your 360 so what do you think 60fps would do to your 360?

Erm – Killzone 1 was probably the best looking FPS on last gen too though. It was still shit.
Have you seen the Halo 3 beta? Have you seen BIOSHOCK. Comparing BioShock to Killzone. Is like comparing LAIR to PONG. And Pong still wins.
Joke site or not, you know whats really awesome about killzone2? That its the game PS3 owners have been waiting for, and will continue to wait for, for another 6 months at least, considering that its not set for release until ‘08. Until then I will be enjoying Call of Duty 4 for quite a long time. Secondly as most people have stated, the first game was a grossly over-hyped junk fest that most people quickly realized. Until PS3 actually comes out with a SINGLE game I want to play I will continue to enjoy the 360 and laugh at the PS3 owners as they lovingly stare at there console with nothing to play that is of enjoyment. Hang in there PS3 owners, you folks will surely have something to show for your investment soon enough (hopefully).
Killzone 1 sucked so most likely killzone 2 will also.

Halo 3 in 9 days. Looks just as good if not better, Bioshock already released looks just as good. But you have to remeber right now im comparing to a single screenshot of “Killzone 2″. From Kikzo? Id like to meet the motherfucker who named it that and shove a broom up his ass… but he problably would like that just like every person on this sight who actually tries to defend the “the ps3″ sad excuse for a system right there.
Even the Wii is running 60fps on Brawl, this game must be a joke if it really is 30fps and is suppose to take out Halo.
