Playstation Brand Dominates Japanese Game Sales Chart
Sony dominates Japan last week just as they dominated U.S. game sales a month prior. As the above graph shows, the Playstation Family even outsold every Nintendo system combined. It looks like the Nintendo Wii is in freefall over in Japan. Perhaps a Brain Age game or two can help out the sluggish sales? Here is a complete breakdown of how the hardware and top 10 games sold last week in Japan (9/10-9/16).

If you’ve downloaded the latest patch for Madden 08 on the PS3, that means you probably aren’t playing it right now. The patch causes the disc not to load and must be manually removed. There has be no explanation given for the existance of the patch other than the one I have given you, Peter Moore hates the PS3. I think I’ll go play me some 60 FPS Madden on my 360.
Oh my God! I SEE IT!! I Finally See It!! All these years Ive had my eyes and ears closed to all things Sony. Ive even said some nasty things on this site. But after reading this article it is Clear that Sony is dominating the market in Japan, and thus every other market in the world! I gotta say, these are true facts here, xbox 360 is not doing too well in Japan (understatement). But the thing that is most interesting is that while Wii & PS3 fight over Japan and 360 is trying to slowly make headway 360 leads in just about every market, especially the US market which has grown the past few years.

I work in retail and we have not sold a sony play staion 3 in almost 2 months, and the one that we did sell prior to the drought of sales on the PS3, was bought with a stolen credit card. so that says something right there about the sales that you say exist. people that buy PS3′s are theives

This again well its good to know that Sony still Doing the 360 doggy style and G4 confirm that LostOdice is going to be 4 discs, men and the company president told that would only take 1 blue-ray dics on the ps3, and the Bioware company anounce Mass Effect is going to be only exclused to the 360 if the Console Survive her life expand, so give it one year and get the game on the PS3

It’s not the sales of PS products that I’m worried about. It’s how much Sony is loosing off every unit they sell.
Now, the Saturn flopped just as bad as the PS3, but Sega was used to playing second fiddle. Sony has never tasted defeat like this before. All the profits from the other Sony appliances are going into production for the PS3.
Sony’s not as resilient as Sega. All Sega does is games, that’s why they stuck around. Sony has bigger fish to fry. I don’t think they’ll wait until 09 to make a profit. If they don’t think the PS3 is going to make them ENOUGH money, they’ll abandon the industry entirely.
They’ll cease the PS production, sell their studios, shut down SCEA, and they will be gone. That’s just how they do business. If it was anyone else, no matter how bad the PS3 sells, we’d at least see a PS4.

You know if you add up the ps2 and the ps3 they destroyed both 360 and wii. And ps2 is killing ps3. OK how many xbox or gamecube’s sold last week. The fact that ps2 is still selling at that high velocity is just astonishing.

HELLO xbox360 is sold at a loss, xbox was sold at a loss. PS2 was sold as a loss. Starting consoles with the items they have are sold at a loss. Get over it.

Ps3 has a blue ray player. 4 million ps3 are sold. thats 4 million blue ray players out in circulation only from there system. if 1 ps3 owner each bought a blue ray. thats 4 million extra blue ray’s disk’s sold.
That equates to them having an extra 4 million supporters of ther eblue ray technology. In turn assisting them in wining the blue ray hd-dvd war.
And all you 360 owners, ONCE blue ray wins you will have to go out buy a blue ray drive and have it installed into your 360 (at which point the cost for you to get and play a 360 later on will increase past what sony’s base price was)
Also if hd dvd does win. you will have to go out and buy a hd-dvd drive and install it into your system. But you say i alrdy bought one that connects so no i dont. Well heres sum news for you the drive is conected using a usb, You think that enough memory can bass through that little usb to play a game properly LOL.
And if its a draw. Enjoy putting in games with 4 or 5 disk eventualy. That should be amazing playing a game and having to switch disk when u wanna play campaign or you want to play multiplayer.

Fact is that was 90K units of Bioshock sold for the week you mornon, not since it came out. My point was after 4 weeks out it still sold more than your “killer app” in it’s first week. Looks like Heavenly Sword didn’t quite sell too many systems last week either.
Just admit that Sony’s arrogance has caught up with them and they are scrambling to find their way since this system launched. If Sony is banking on winning this console war based on Blue Ray they are in for a shit load of trouble. You would think after the failures of Beta, mini disks, etc. they would cut the shit of trying to corner stone a format and just concentrate on giving the people what they want. I would like to point out the the 360 is selling like shit every ware but the US and its been out a year longer then both the Wii and PS3 the Wii has already out sold the 360 and the PS3 in less then a year is already halve way there please tell me what in the flying fuck makes you thing the 360 is so great the first one failed and the second one is slowly following. see beta was better then VHS but it lost. Blue ray is better then HD but is actually winning. Sony does not control what companies choose to make what games on which system and how good they can be.
The games will come and are comming with great titles.

25% of ps3 owners buying Heavenly Sword is impressive. But considering 100% of them are looking for something good to play isnt. And I but the other 75% rented the game, beat it, and returned it the next day.
As far as the HD DVD vs. Bluray battle I bet they both loose. By the time HD tech has the install base to actually push the market away from standard DVDs I would bet a digital delivery system will be in place that will bury both techs. That or by that time the PS4 and the next Xbox will be out and it wont matter anymore.
I did buy an HD DVD drive for my 360 and Im happy with it. Not because I love Microsoft, but because they didnt shove it down my throat with out asking.
