Incoming Halo 2.5 Reviews: Ars Technica – 7/10
The web is alight with Halo 2.5 reviews as the embargo for MS’ premier franchise is lifted.
This is MS’ attempt to prevent being 3rd place yet again in this generation’s console race. Everything hinges on a game which has had a limitless development and marketing budget.
Ars Technica were lucky enough to get a review copy from MS and they gave the game a respectable (albeit inflated score) of 7/10.
A brief summary:
* Small arenas – total lack of scope
* Halo 2 HD graphics
* Short campaign

“I’m shocked that both Factor 5 and Sony looked at what they had here and decided to charge people for it. It’s not a failed experiment, it’s an embarrassment. Either Factor 5 doesn’t know how to code a game or the hardware wasn’t up to snuff, because that frame rate kills the entire experience before you even have a chance to be disgusted at the controls. The sad thing is that this complete booger of a game may keep other companies from trying a motion-based approach to their controls, and I’m sure someone could do it well in the future. “

You totally made the 7/10 score up, and I read the whole review and they had very few minor complaints, at the very least it would be a 9/10, and if they did score it. It would most likely be a 9.5/10.

You can always spot real journalistic integrity where you bash a game in the headline before you even review it. Shouldn’t you at least wait to review the game before you call it HALO 2.5? I’m just saying… maybe more people would buy into your BS review if you at least put a little effort into making it…. you know….. not stupid….

Everyone here is not looking at the bigger picture… OBVIOUSLY when halo gets ported over to the PS3, the inclusion of the CELL PROCESSOR , coupled with the SHEER POWER (can you feel it?) of the BLU RAY will turn HALO3 into a force to reckon with. INFACT! they are currently working on PORTING over HALO 2 over to psp, The power of the UMD will take HALO 2 leaps and bounds over what the original xbox could do. PSHHH
until then, poor xbox owners will have to deal with hours and hours and hours of fun with the crappy version of HALO 3. I, for one, have seen the tremendous power the PS3 holds. It single handedly figured out who killed Kennedy, with the help of over 30 kajillion calculations per second it that the CELL PROCESSOR can calculate it narrowed the culprit to the one and only… XBOX 360!!!!!

Microsoft announces that the 360 is a failure hours before Halo 3 is released to the gaming public. The only consolation they could give the millions of fans that will be in line tonight at midnight is that Halo 3 4D Edition will be released in time for Christmas on Sony’s Playstation 3 and will run at 120 FPS. They promise to make use of the Sixaxis controller and vow not to fuck it up like Factor 5 did with Lair. And if they do F it up they will not send a reviewers guide on how to play the game but an actual certified tech to your house that will beat the game for you while you sit and watch.

What no one seems to know, but One has it on good authority, this so called wonderful review was written off of a demo build, not the actual full game.
