BREAKING: Next GTA PS3 Exclusive
According to the November 2007 issue # 76 of the Official Xbox Magazine, Sony has secured the next Grand Theft Auto, which would be number 7 in the series, to be a true exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
Clearly Rockstar were fed up with the limitations of the 360 GPU, CPU last gen DVD media, and lack of standard HDD.
No doubt GTA Next will make GTAIV look like a Dreamcast game now that Rockstar can fully harness the power of PS3.

lol. So at E3 when Sony execs said that they were getting a new IP from Rockstar that would be exclusive to the PS3(and it wasnt L.A Noir), they were lying huh? And besides, this article is the very definition of “too litle, too late” Assuming GTA4 comes out in April of 08, you’ll be lucky to see GTA5 by 2011.(and just remember, everyone said that GTA would be a Sony exclusive forever a few years ago… Now the 360 is getting exclusive GTA content. lol) The PS3rd place will be long gone by then. Seriously, the GTA series has never been famous for its “stunning” graphics. That’s one reason it managed to survive on PS2, and actually put out on PSP (notice we never saw a “San Andreas Stories”).
The GTA series also hasn’t really advanced since GTA3, except SA, but 4 is taking it back to the gutter of Liberty City. I think we’ve seen just about all we’re going to out of this series.
I used to be depressed when GTA3 came to PS2. Later on it came to Xbox, I tried it out and it wasn’t THAT great of a game. Beside when GTA7 is going to come? I’m guessing another 3-4 years and ALOTS can happen in 3 years. PS3 COULD beat Xbox 360 on market, who knows.
Btw the only best part about this news is the picture, I love it.

GTAIII came out in 2001, rockstar then capitalised on it and made Vuce City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. I would not be suprised if they did the same dealy with GTAIV and made it stretch on for 6 years also till “GTAV”. Shit, if it does come out in 2012 i wouldn’t be suprised if MS releases another console, all whilst PS3 is struggling to find publishers who can “Harness the power of Cell and Blu-Ray!!”
and i haven’t seen this site take any pot-shots at Gears Of War…..that game is close to a year old and still rocks the shit!

Odd that no one has brought this up, but why was GTAIV pushed back to ’08 from it’s original November ’07 release date? Anyone? Oh yeah, that’s right. They we’re having trouble PORTING it to the PS3, so it was pushed back because Sony inked a deal to have it released the same day as the XBOX 360 version. That also means it was originally DEVELOPED on 360 from the get-go. Oh snap.
Personally, I think Rockstar’s scraping the bottom of the barrel too. They added so much to GTA:SA, but after that, they went right back to GTA3. And as far as the missions go, they’ve never changed. Drive and Shoot. Pizza Delivery.

I realize you’re going through a tough time right now. And I appriciate that your argument holds a lot more logic than this site (or many Sony sites for that matter).
Now I am not a Sony Fan, nor a Xbot, or even a Be-wii-ver. I do not hold any allegiances to the consoles, but only to games. Sony has some awesome studios under their belt, Naughty Dog, Level 5, Sucker Punch, etc. But Sony themselves don’t care about quality in the games, just profits, and with the recent relapses, they’re really starting to show their true colors.
I guess what I’m trying to say is:
You don’t have to feel personally insulted when someone attacks your console. Focus on the games, and what’s really good. If that means switching consoles, so be it. As gamers, we should stick together for quality.
The PS3 is the complete opposite of the PS2. Sony’s abandoned everything that made their consoles good. It’s very unclear how much longer they’ll stick around.

ok i just have to make a comment because this site has really really pissed me off with all of the shit tha they have posted. All of the videos and screenshots have been taken from a build of the game running on the 360!!! the game is designed for the 360, like every other multiplatform game. Sony fans boys dont want to admit that sony has created a platform that no one wants to spend the time to learn how to use, which is why each and every game that releases on both consoles will look better on the 360, microsoft gives them all the tools so that they can make the game quicly and effficiently as possible.
if you read the actual article you would see it was more along the lines of
“we’d better hand rockstar a blank check to make the next gta exclusive”
or something along those lines.

So very true. Because this site is a joke on sony then its only natural that Xbox fans will come and comment on it. Because the site hasnt been praising the ps3 so much as making stuff up about the Xbox 360 its only normal to expect the Xbox fans to try and correct them.
I really don’t understand if this site is some elaborate joke at the ps3′s expense or if these people are honestly serious. The article they cite states that sony has gotten the rights to Rockstar’s next franchise. That means Rockstar is working on a new franchise for the ps3 only. That’s not bad news, so why do they have to lie about it to make it sound better?

Rush Hour 3 has been released on Blu-Ray, HD-DVD planned for next year.
This isn’t a valuable title, nor is Blu-Ray selling well anymore.
And so forth. Also, a lot of Sony sites tend to be full of bull. Practically every Sony Press Release since E3 ’06 has been, shall we say, exaggerated. This site is just one of the herd.
Lets talk about the limits of the PS3rd place now…Since this website is supposed to be about the Playstation after all… For example, let see why the PS3 version of Rock Band is so inferior to the 360, especially when it comes to online play. After being out for a year, 3rd party developers still cant figure out the PS3. lol Since we all know the Playstation online network is a joke compared to Xbox Live….

Did you ever play the first GTA? GTA is a PC game. The PS1 version was awful in comparison, GTA 2 was the same story.
GTA 3 onwards the games have been produced first as console games then badly ported to the PC using poor console assets and fairly bad engines. Good games but they are hamstringed for being made primarily for consoles. GTA is still a pc game at heart though, the series would never have existed but for the success of the first PC version.

Well GTA SA was prett nice on PC, since it allowed for free aim. I do hope future PC versions may be as nice. Yes the PC versions of the originals were much better, but only because the PS1 really wasn’t the greatest thing in the world to put a game on, you have to take that to account. Rockstar made alot more money on the PS2 with GTA III than GTA III made on PC, so of course since they put all of them on consoles first. Seems they experimented with GTA on XBox consoles, and i bet they finally hit their limit. Though I don’t see why 360 can’t get anymore in the future. I don’t think Sony bought Rockstar out. lol
