Reeves: PS3 has already outsold 360 in a number of European territories (LTD)
It begins. Sony is already overtaking Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in Europe, according an interview with David Reeves, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
Here are some snippets from the interview:
- Reeves claims PS3 will have outsold 360 overall in Europe by late summer, these are his team’s projections
- Just over 1m PS3s were sold in Dec in PAL regions
- 22% of that figure was in the UK
- Reeves says that PS3 has already outsold 360 in a number of European territories (LTD), including France, Spain, Germany and Italy and some other smaller territories like Switzerland.
- PS2 and PSP also sold over 1m units each in Dec in PAL-land.

“We don’t often mention the competition, but I will give you some interesting data: In terms of installed base in some of our major markets, such as France, Spain, Germany and Italy – plus some distributor territories in smaller markets like Switzerland – our current cumulative installed base is now higher than Xbox 360.
“It has not yet reached that in the UK. But the team here expect to overtake the installed base of Xbox 360 across all PAL territories in late summer. It’s also worth mentioning that last week we outsold Xbox 360 in PAL territories by a ratio of three to one.â€

4. Graphics are a opinion. Sure the RAM is faster in the PS3, but it still has less than the 360 (256mb vs. 512). The 360′s processor (xenon) is actually the predessecor to the the Cell and that they work in virtually the same way. Goto the Ars Technica website to find out more.
5. Alot of your “points” don’t have much behind them besides alot of bias fanboy rant. I encourage you to get informed by reading different articles that pretain to all the consoles, and not just one.

R* Shows 360 images, because they cant/doesnt know how PS3 works, but, magically, Squaresoft knows how to. That’s why 360 is affecting the gaming progression. Now, cuz of 360, the games are just shitty, the same shit but now at 720p, the same graphics but wasting more RAM. 360 is scamming people with easy-making games, like EA does. Even Harry Potter game is more complex that Halo 2.5, true fact.
360 has more ram, but is fucking slow, so FPS just keep going down and down.
PS3 ram is 7 times faster, so FPS aren’t affected, also, that ram is connected to the graphic, making it faster, and having a final 512mb of RAM.
Graphics are a opinion, sure, but you cant compare a good work from a shitty work, because 360 has shitty games with bad programming, and badly, this affects PS3 (only on ports, not on exclusive games). For example, Wii games are cool, the graphics aren’t important.
Oh, about the processor, is way different from 360 one. 360 Hardware is not compatible itself, is like comparing Windows and Linux, Windows even with a double powerful hardware, cant compete versus Linux at anything. PS3 have a well balanced Hardware, making it just perfect, 360 one is like an plug-n-play system, that means that 360 will never get the 100% power from his hardware, because if 360 try to get better graphics, he will need more RAM speed, it’s just an example.
I encourage you all to get more information about Cell, RAM, and programming.
Also, about HDMI, 360 will NEVER get a 1080p Full HD.
1080p and 1080p Full HD is different. Having a 1080p resolution doesnt mean that the image is perfect, actually, all 360 games are 600-720p, compare it yourself loading a game at 720p and then 1080p, the quality is the SAME. 360 isnt ready for a 1080p Full HD, so 360 will never get the best games and the best FPS.
And remember, PS3 started 1 year late, and comparing the sellings, is just winning compared to xbox, that means PS3 is more interesting than a “USA” console.
Also, remember something, Microsoft is attempting to make a “war” to PS3 since they started the 360 project. Sony kept ignoring Microsoft, and now is just kicking Microsoft’s asses.
Microsoft was trying to kick B-Ray with his HD-DVD, investing money to make B-Ray less important.
That’s how Microsoft works, like with linux and Apple, always investing their money to destroy the other companys, making them lose faith and cancel the true good works like Linux (a non-virus system) or Apple (the best designer system) (windows doesnt have anything special).

Think of RAM as a subway hub, the train stops there, offloads people (Information) and takes on new passengers and continues on. That’s all RAM does. It has very little to do with speed.

I know its a long link but it will take you to a nice table charting sales in the major markets, since PS3′s launch in Europe (March 25th). You will see that PS3 is outselling 360 in PAL territories by about 1.66:1, and in Japan by 5:1. Of course 360 has the advantage in USA with a sales ratio of just under 2:1. There ya go, indisputable proof, and infact from a source that is biased against the PS3, so i wouldnt be surprised if they were underestimated sales figures for the PS3.
One thing that I really hope someone is noticing. According to VGcharts, the 360 has 17.08M while the ps3 has 10.18M. While there’s still a good 7Million difference there, that difference is, infact, closing up. The Gap in sales used to be bigger than that. Also take into account that:
1. The ps3 and 360 are (about) equal in price now, only a $50 difference but you also get a larger Haddrive, an HD format, and a wireless connection. The cheaper ps3 has no BC-C but the 360′s BC-C is a joke anyways.
2. The 360 is selling like shit in the rest of the world compared to the PS3 (outside USA).
3. The majority of the better games announced for 360 coming out this year are also multi-platform. The Wii has only 1 good game scheduled for this year (Brawl, I guess 2 if you really want to use Mario Kart) Wiifit doesn’t count, I said GOOD games, not games like Wiiplay that sells a lot but is shit nonetheless (lets face it, Wiiplay wasn’t worth the $20 extra for the wiimote). The PS3′s lineup of new releases this year is far better than anything the competition has to offer, except maybe PC.
