New feature here at SDF Towers. Comment of the Week is just what it says on the tin – our pick for best comment of the week.
Thanks to everyone for their contribution – we’ll be contacting the lucky winner soon with a copy of one of our top rated PS3 games Lair (which we awarded an unprecedented 10/10 to).
So without further ado, here is the winning comment from nextgenuser:
1: PS3 Outsold Xbox360, true fact. Anyways, 50% of Xbox360 are break, because of his 3rd world materials, kthxbye.
2: The reason because GTA was delayed, its 360 fault. Because, x360 doesnt have any special programming, and is not hard to create a game, so they can sell you a piece of shit and xboxers will buy it anyway. PS3 needs a TRUE programming, PS3 needs quality, so it takes a bit longer, and only true gamers will buy the game for PS3.
All ports are “bad†on PS3 because of x360, anyways, 360 is going down FAST, so, who cares about 360 since microsoft is failing like the old xbox.3: I have a 60gb PS3, so, what’s the problem if 40gb ones cant play PS2 games? is just like an Add-on, if you want to play PS2 games, run them in PS2 like everyone does. Maybe you are one of those that wants to run a SNES game on DS, using the old game cart, better luck next time xboxtroll.
4: PS3 outsold 360 on Japan, even Wii outsold 360, everyone knows that, because Japan hates microsoft and they just want quality before retardism and easy-programming games.
5: PS3 is better than Xbox360 on all ways.
PS3 has better graphics.
PS3 has a RAM 7 times faster than xbox360.
PS3 has a Cell, like 10 times better than the 360.
PS3 has Blu-Ray, not like 360 with DVD, and the DEAD HD-DVD.
Actually, PS3 is better, the only problem is that companys have to research more for it, just wait FFXIII and you will see what’s a game, and not the child-programming xbox ones, they make a game in 4 months because is easy to programm, xbox fans will buy their shitty games anyways, to get more xbox points and play tetris online or something.6: PS2 was better than the old Xbox, because Xbox doesnt have any complicated programming. Just compare God of War or FFXII with any Xbox game, there’s an example of the TRUE gamming-programming. Xbox games were made with an advanced RPG maker or something, easy stuff.
7: Is so funny to watch xbox fans posting here, crying like the child do, and defending a dead console.
So, xbox child, I know that is hard to accept the fact that Xbox failed like HD-DVD, and I know is hard to accept that companys scams xbox fans with easy-programming games, but, is the reality, accept those facts, sell your 360 and buy a PS3, you have time now, dont keep failing. Anyways, the 90%+ of the xbox fans, will buy a PS3 thanks to Metal Gear and FFXIII, you know how this works, the best games goes to the best company =) even Wii have better games than Xbox, Failure company is Failure.

Oh yeah m0dus, I remember you saying back in 2006 on the old SDF boards (PS3NIX was it?) that, in 12 months, the PS3 would start kicking ass. If the old site wasn’t long dead, I’d actually go and dig up the post for you.
But yeah, it really isn’t. Regardless of comparing individual first years and all that, right now, there are fewer PS3s sold than either X360s or Wiis.

Love the whole “the ps3 IS faster”-thing. I mean you can really see that on games like the Orange Box, in Portals for example. If you die, on the PC version, it takes about a sec for you to start over from last “check point”. On the X360 i takes a couple of seconds, like 2-4. And the winner is ofc the PS3 which it takes over 10 god damn seconds, I mean do they clear all cache and reload everything every damn time you die or what?
But yeah, it’s true, the PS3 have to have “real” programmers to fuck their games up.
So, SDF aren’t even trying to pretend to be real anymore, are they?
Both the 360′s and PS3′s processors need to specially programmed for. Both of them have a multi-processor machines. The the 360′s processors are more flexible on what they can do so in turn it allows for dev teams to program a game easier on it. Now the Cell processor works just the same way, but it’s more restrictive on it’s functions. So yes it takes time for a dev to “learn” to program for it but those restrictions can pay off.
Also when does complicated programming mean a better game? I have played some real shit on the PS2 over the years (Fugitive Hunter anyone) and that was poor design not programming.

It’s unfortunate that as a college educated man, I am overqualified for this contest. Had I dropped out in the fifth grade, I could be a winner, too.
And allow me to say that Lair is the perfect choice for a prize. An Xbox 360 player would expect something like Call of Duty 4, or The Orange Box, but you’ve chosen a game that only a dedicated PS3 fan could enjoy.
Keep up the good work SDF! With fans like yours, it’s obvious which system deserves to win the console war. And the sales numbers show the right console winning.

Despite how much I like not to admit it, as of resently many articals now say the PS3 was reason for GTA 4′s delay, though I’ve found no good sources directly quoteing anyone from rockstar saying that, just articals saying they said that, but not giving a source. lol
I’m pretty sure it was an MTV interview with a game dev that revealed the PS3 as a factor in GTA’s delay.
It would be a factor. How are you suppose to make a ported game good when you have such a low budget due to a tiny fanbase? GTA for the PS3 will probably only have cutscenes.

I just thought about something. It is really sad that you even had to make a site defending Sony. If so is so great then there wouldn’t need sites like this. The way I see it you make a site called Sony Defense Force for a system that according to you should need to defense. If it is so great why not shut down this site. You have to take into consideration the fact GTA IV MIGHT be a great success on the PS3 due to it’s history on the console. I get the feeling that a majority of new console purchases at the game’s launch will be PS3′s. Most people I know that aren’t gamers bought a PS2 just for Grand Theft Auto. Given that up until recently all GTA games have been exclusive to Sony I’m sure that most people have the mindset that the game is a Playstation brand. Not to mention that Microsoft hasn’t been very
vocal about the series coming to the 360. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.

360 version I heard may have mroe content than the PS3 version of GTA 4, it’s said microsoft paid 50 million dollars for extra content, ie another mission tree for example, like another 3-5 missions from one boss…. worth 50million dollars???? what a waste i think, 360 fans would of bought it anyways despite, and PS3 owners will still buy it on the PS3. Just another wasting time with Microsoft.
Microsoft two sets of exclusive DLC. It’s been said that the bonus content will provide over 10 hours of play time per package. It’s not a waste as it gives the gamer more content and it provides Microsoft with the opportunity to sell more consoles to people who want to maximum GTA experience therefore increasing their install base.

Now, we’re neck and neck. That’s not an issue anymore. But back then that was something we were taking into account. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with the PS3 version. It’s awesome. They’re both identical.”

As for GTA4, it’s not exactly the biggest deal. It’s Rockstar saying “Our one and only game this year will be #1!” MTVagrees, but these are the guys who gave San Andreas GOTY, dispite nominees like Halo 2 and Half-Life 2.
Personally, I think the hostile take-over at take-two probably has something to do with the delays. But like I said, I could care less.

About GTA: R* is programming GTA for PS3, looks like it wont be a shitty-port like happened with Armored Core 4 (I’m an AC fan, but they didnt spend time to programm it for PS3, sigh, damn micro$oft killing cool games) or any multi.

About AC4: AC4 was created for 360 and then ported to PS3. “Thanks” to Micro$oft, AC4 xucked so hard. On the first place, because it was created on a DVD, that’s why AC4 is the first AC with LESS missions, and also, short ones.
Micro$oft killed other epic game thanks to his useless DVD and low power. I hope Fromsoftware makes another AC, but this time Exclusive, so we can have a true next-gen mech game without any restrictions.

Yeah Ps3 will get better sooner or later and I’ll buy it because of FF, MSG4 and KZ2. That doesn’t mean PS3 is a better system. It means I’m a gamer and I’ll do anything to play any games. Also idk if anybody said this already but blu-ray/higher capacity discs dont really seem nessecary because there are five games in the orange box and it runs much faster on pc and 360 than ps3. Also, the only reason its sold as many as it has is because its a cheap blu-ray player.

Sony’s best looking PS3 game doesn’t even look better than 2006′s Gears of Wars. It came out 1 year after the launch of the 360, just like lair, uncharted, ratchet, etc came out 1 year after PS3 launch.
