The xbox 360 shortage in January is TRUE, and it’s partially true for February, but I don’t know for March.

For a console to sell from crap to outselling the 360, you don’t need an engineering degree to know that Warner killing HD DVD made blue-ray the sole next generation video format alive and hence, the boost in PS3 purchases is absolutely normal, since it’s the best blu-ray player out there (the same can not be said if it’s compared as a console)

Just because the numbers are up, doesn’t mean it is any less crap then it was then it started with. PS3 is still being beat by the Wii, and untill the PS3 can produce good games that will stay PS3 exclusive I dobut they will over take Wii any time soon. Also, it doesn’t matter how well the 360 does cause if Bill Gates really wanted he could buy Sony…

Im way late on this but you missed my point.

Lets just say a guy buys a ps3 to play blu-ray movies and has no intention of buying or playing video games. Should the sale of that console count as a video game console? I dont think so, I think it should be counted as a blu-ray player. I think that if you are comparing 360 to ps3 sales you should try and take that into account. I would like to offer the disparity in attach rates(which I am fairly sure dont include HD movies) as proof.

How is the PS3 slaughtering the XB360, it only sold around 30,000 more units, that 150,000 unit lead the XB360 was holding over the PS3 for the majority of last year, now that was slaughtering.

Shortage or no shortage, the 360 has the hardware sold enough to keep it close to the lead. It’s time to quit thinking about hardware, and start talking software.

The 360 are still ruling the Top Ten Best-Seller list with the Wii in close second. PS3 didn’t have any in the top ten.

There were a couple in the top 20, though. GH3, and Rock Band. Major multi-platform. Nothing exclusive, poor Naughty Dog.

where’d the rest of my comment go? Basically I went on about how the 360 failure rate is shit while the Wii’s and PS3′s is much better. Then I went on about how you guys are ignoring how the ps3 just outsold the 360 in its only stronghold in the world. considering how poorly the 360 is doing in the rest of the world, the ps3 eventually beating the 360 is inevitable.

Damned fanboys! I bet they didn’t include ZUNE SALES in the Microsoft family! Zune probably outsells the DS, even. If they added those figures in I’m sure MS wouldn’t have been in last place in hardware sales all year.
