Gun metal PS3 heading to the U.S.
Sony is releasing the Gun Metal PS3 (bundled with the limited edition of MGS4) in the U.S. More details will be revealed soon.
From April onward is looking pretty huge for the gaming industry. For PS3 you have titles such as Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4 (definitive edition), the new PSN store, etc. The PS2 recently had a huge release with Buzz! Hollywood (win prizes and play the mini-game here). For Nintendo Wii you have Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii for your grandmother and baby sister. And for the 360 you have some interesting titles as well.
LOL, for a moment i actually thought that this would be the first article that doesnt bash the 360 or Wii. It wouldnt be SDF if it didnt, so how wrong was i. By the way, those 2 “intresting games” for the 360 are multi format btw, should have checked that before posting, lol.
On a serious note, that Gun Metal MGS4 edition PS3 is a bargin, as it will be super rare, you can keep it in a pristine unused condition (not hard if ur not into movies) and sell it on ebay when they are out of stock for a tidy profit.

Enough so that they couldn’t even fit it on a blu-ray disc, give me a break! Oh, and SDF, give it up on the definitive version, since the extra content is only on the 360 version. lol, how butthurt are you? It’s gonna be an awesome game which millions are going to buy. Why must it be compared to Halo? Lol another game didnt compare to Halo lol its shit. i mean the amount of advertisement Halo got was fucking rediculous, and they 360 Halo edition looked so shitty compared to that PS3 which still looks sleak. Halo 3 was not shite. You obviously never played it. I will happily admit it was not perfect, and definatly not worthy of all the near perfect scores it got (89 to 91 I’d agree with), but it is in no way shite.
But Halo has far more main stream appeal then MGS. Theres no doubt that MGS4 will sell well, but don’t expect it to blitz sales records like Halo 3, MGS simply isn’t well known enough.
On topic, I don’t think the MGS limited edition PS3 looks any better then the current PS3 (which isn’t particularlly appealing in the looks department to begin with imo). It certainly looks more appealing then the silver version, mind. With the posible exception of the crystal Xbox, limited edition consoles tend to look ridiculous. After all, does the Yellow PS2 look better then the regular one?
One final remark: we seem to have a hell of a lot of homo-phobes on here. I’m not gay, but I still find it laughable and highly infantile to see all those cock sucking and rough taking remarks. I guess ‘debate’ is not a known word here (not that joke sites would know the meaning)

that was the most ignorant comment i heard on this website, and since this is sdf i find that as a accomplishment. of course mgs4 will never get the sales halo has accomplished, but then again MGS4 hasnt had the multibillion dollar advertising campaign. hell even my grandma knew what halo was. at the end of the day which is the better game? MGS4 of course. halo 3= halo 1 and 2, it is an outdated game. sure it was cool on the original xbox but that doesn’t cut it anymore, especially when there are other better games out like call of duty 4. if you do not like kojimas storytelling that deals with real life issues, has a good sense of humor, and is nothing short of epic then go back to wii play or viva pinata and let the adults enjoy their masterpiece, mmmmm k?

the MGS series (at least the one’s I’ve played, 2 and 3) never use CGI other than the starting movies, all the cutscenes are scripted action sequences rendered in real time and/or codec calls.
only this time there is a lack of codec calls.
I like the use of cutscenes, helps it actually have a good, well told story.

yeah i heard about that. it only happens to less than 1 percent of ps3 owners. while the rrod happens to at least 33 percent of owners. lets face it. xbox 360 is a shoddy piece of hardware. thank the lord it has great games and a wonderful online service or else i wouldnt have looked in its direction. yeah i know the newer ones don’t have this problem, but this never should have happened in the first place. so in short six1s you once again fail…………..

It’s not that Halo 3 was innovative in the FPS genre but it’s the fact that Halo 3 took all of the things that make a FPS good and executed them well. Talking about map editors and the little things about the game is just nitpicking and pointless.
MGS4 is going to probably (more than likely) be a fucking terrific game. I personally have always liked the series (including the NES versions) and can’t wait to play MGS4. Sure MGS it ain’t for everyone but what game is? I could give two shits about Halo (I agree with you animekid about COD4 being better) but it’s not a terrible game either and for what it does it does well.
What really irks me though is ppl making comparisons to two wholly different games for example:
Halo > MGS. How the fuck can anyone compare a FPS to a 3rd person stealth action game is beyond me. What would make sense is comparing Splinter Cell and MGS to one another.
Here’s my favorite example though:
COD4 > R6 Vegas- Granted there both FPS’s but with TWO different styles of play. COD4 is more “twitch” while R6 Vegas is more of a slower thought out game.
I’m just speaking out but I feel that comparing to totally different types of games to one another is fucking annoying.
Quite honestly, this is a good deal, hands down. MGS4 will be awesome, no doubt, and get a load of people sticking their foot in the door on the PS3. But I find that until killzone 2 comes out and there is a actual game with considerable replay value, I for one won’t get one. However, that isn’t to say there aren’t any, just not the myriad of them 360 has at the moment. I think killzone will make a bigger difference than MGS, specially with good reviews and a good ad campaign.
I think the point of the Halo>MGS4 comments were saying that that it wouldn’t be the system/software seller that Halo was, as opposed to SDF’s prophecy. After all, they defined Buzz!’s release as huge (<20k).
