March 2008 NPD: Playstation Family continues to lead the competition despite PS3 shortages
Another disastrous month for Microsoft and Nintendo as the Playstation Family(TM) once again stretches its legs and continues to build upon its unassailable lead over the competition.
All this despite massive shortages of 80GB PS3s. Expect these supply issues to continue throughout the next few months well into June with the imminent release of MGS4.
More commentary and reflection to follow but for now enjoy the numbers. We certainly did.

What the Playstation ‘Family’ nubers mean is the PS3 sold 10k units, and the PSP & PS2 sold the rest.

i really wonder where are all the wii sales coming from. i mean there are no wii at any retailers whatsoever, yet it still outsells both the 360 and ps3. i find it funny how microsoft uses the shortage excuse. if anyone wants to buy a 360 they will wait, they won’t just buy a ps3 because there are no 360s. in any case MS did a pretty damn good job considering they only sell one console the 360.

I think 360 made it back ahead of the PS3 because in Europe there was yet again another price cut on 360 units, I’d expect that to of aided in it’s capture last month. What confuses me is the fact SDF never praised the first 3 months of 2008 when the PS3 was in lead with the 360 in North America and world wide by a very good margin. But once 360 went ahead again it jumps on the Family deal.
Cause all the staff at SDF are complete retards and just make shit up to start flame wars.

Six1s, what you just posted did greatly undermine the intent of this article, but it is also a very dark cloud for the 360. The 360 has, for the first time this year, just barely aqeezed ahead of the ps3 in North America. At the same time, The PS3 is leading in the EU and, needless to say, slaughtering the 360 in Japan. It’s been slow, but the ps3 is indeed catching up in world sales.

The price of the console was irrelevant to my point. mustardmap says that 360 sales are slowing down because “everyone has one”. considering how the 360 has sold less than 20 million consoles and the sales are slowing, compared to the 100 million ps2′s sold when the sales were still strong, mustardmaps claim is totally bogus.

Once again, the Sony’s have to band together to keep up.
The two Nintendo’s coninue to fight for 1rst, and the 360 sits comfortably, waiting to retire.
And, of course, the games that matter, 360′s Rainbow 6 hit #2 with 750,000 sold. Not bad for the average month.
Smash Bros. topped out at 2.7 mil, nearly 4x its runner up.

that is nowhere near true. ps2 is still selling at a consistent rate, the ps2 is either the top selling (by a month-to-month basis), or second best selling sony console.

your completely right. i think the ps2 hurts sony way more in certain aspects than console competition. i mean you can get a ps2 dirt cheap with a catalogue of thousands of great games anywhere from 5 to 50 bucks. sure its profitable for sony to keep the ps2 but if they dont get ps2 owners in the mindset that they should upgrade then the ps3 will still lag. “most” of the people who purchased the 360 were the same userbase that purchased the original xbox. i know some where of the ps2 crowd that didn’t want to put up with sony BS so they took MS BS instead. but the casual market is the target, and if you go outside and ask anyone to name a console chances are they will most likely say playstation.
W/e right or wrong its logical. Maybe I dont have the stats to prove it, but seriously who would buy more than 1 type of console. Is there a reason for owning two of a type? Maybe waiting the upcoming flood. Again I dont have the proof currently, but its most logical. Eventually when EVERYONE owns a certain console the sales of it will stop, not including the break downs and the ones who refuse to repair it. It was more opinion based anyways so w/e.

most japanese developers are doing multiplat, not exclusive. lost oddessey was a 360 exclusive and it bombed, as well as blue dragon. most japanese are doing multiplat if anything. catering to the us market and japanese respectively.

i think what he meant was that the wii is a motion sensor gamecube, this is obvioulsy more accurtate and true.
The (gamecube/PS2) with a laser pointer is the system I’m planning on buying the new Star Wars game for. Despite the fact that the graphics will look better on my 360, I know the Wii’s control scheme will add more depth to the gameplay.
This is something that PS3 fanboys can’t understand. Better graphics don’t mean a better system. Remember people, its substance over style.

I likely would own a PS3 if it had a decent library. Well that and if it didn’t have an idiotic price tag. But I really do think I CAN subjectively argue that the PS3′s library is weaker than the Wii’s. Otherwise by your logic before I owned a 360 I would have similarly unsubjectively deemed its library as weak as I do the PS3′s. Rather I only bought the 360 BECAUSE of its strong library.
And yes, I am going to call you a fanboy regardless of what Wii games you may or may not have played. The simple point that you are defending the PS3 means that either you are a Fanboy or a Sony employee.
But I should also point out that I may, eventually, buy a PS3 when Blu-Ray movies become a little more available. As far as a movie player it is a pretty good deal I must admit. But that is it, no games will ever grace its tray. That would be what my PS2, Wii, 360 and PC are for.

Damn good titles? Like what the painful yawn inducing Uncharted? Or how about Ratchet and Thunk? No, not going to play either of those. Metal Gear Solid 4 looks promising. But one title does not a system make.

It looks like crap. Really. Looks like a first generation PS2 game, maybe worse. The backgrounds remind me of the graphics used for light gun arcade shooters. Just looks like they copy pasted walls and doors all over the place – and the same goes for the enemies – it’s just plain bad. I know it’s supposed to be a ‘style’, but it looks horrible.

I bought a 360 and played CoD4 on it. I must say, the one month free trial of XBL blows PSN out of the water. I can’t wait to finish Mass Effect, one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played. I’m addicted to achievements, and the community on 360 seems better. With this newer model, I haven’t noticed the fan as much and the RRoD hasn’t struck. I’ll keep you posted!

The optional install for the 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 4 isn’t because of systems with smaller or no hard drives. Its optional because installations on console systems are a plague which must be eradicated.

I listed a great online competition FPS with cutomizable maps (UT4), a great FPS shooter with a good story and good online with lag free games (RFOM), a great action beat-em-up game with a good story and great acting (Heavenly Sword), a good racer (Motorstorm), a very addictive online shooter (Warhawk), a very deep action-RPG with a lot of expansions (Folklore), arguably the best platform game of 08 – if it wasn’t for all the hype around any new mario game that takes 10 years to be made – (Ratchet & Clank), a SICK combination of Tomb Raider, Gears of War, and Assasin’s creed that is awesome from beginning to end (Uncharted), and even a virtual card game (EOJ) and that’s in the FIRST year, not including all the great third party games that also came out on the 360. SO please someone make the argument for the first year games for the 360. You must like puzzle games then Erik?

Yes some big might not give a crap but small developers are getting there games out. I could never see a one of Epics game being on it just doesn’t fit with the wii especially if it is FPS since about 95% of them on the wii are going to suck. Only Metirod and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 were good. But really its not a big loss for the wii, since its hardware sales are still higher then all except the DS at certain times. On a personal level I’d rather them not make games so they can get more games out for my 360 since I need to find something to get me off brawl and onto the 360.

Actually a dev will use whatever is more effective to tell there story (if it has one). I never expect to see a Unreal game on the Wii at all because Epic usually (along with Id software) push what technology that is either here or coming. I too enjoy FPS’s on the wii but I wouldn’t want all the games to be that either. I enjoy thee uniqueness of the Wii and if there was nothing but FPS’s then wouldn’t it lose it’s sheen? Also as innovation goes sure the Wii has it but how many games do we have that either just waggle or hold the wiimote to steer? A game like the new Star Wars game or GTA4 may have pretty graphics but the engines that run them to me are far more impressive (and interesting to me) than “waggle” controls or graphics. Either way its good to be a gamer right now.

Also just because a game uses the wiimote or sixaxis controls doesn’t make the game “better” my case in point is Lair: horrible controls (that doesn’t include the recent patch) but gorgeous graphics. Your trying to start a crap arguement about how a game handles the controller(s) and what matters most if the game is fun. BTW Force Unleashed or is being developed with the 360 and PS3 in mind so yeah I give the 360 one more of a consideration than the wii version but I will play that one as well.

Don’t say that’s innovative because wheels AND pedals have been around for ages. This year is the last year you’re gonna see any ‘decent’ third party games – and I’m using decent loosely – on the Wii. The only reason it even got any this year was because devs were willing to take a chance with it and got bit in the as* by Nintendo’s don’t-market-any-other-game-that-isnt-from-nintendo-strategy. I don’t think you understand what better graphics, physics and AI add to games. You clearly don’t know much. The feeling of vast terretories and realism add so much to an experience. When games like Heavenly Sword have A+ acting and vivid facial expressions to match, it makes for a more immersive experience that the wii just can’t offer. And you know why developers aren’t gonna make games like that for it? Because they already made like 10 games like that on the PS2 – and are looking foward to improving their games – not dumming them down for the wii public.
Like every fad before it – the Wii will eventually crash and burn – and Miyamoto’s stubborn ideas of using as little technology as possible in their systems will lead them to destruction. Third party devs don’t forgive and forget. They will backlash at Nintendo, and mark my words: the Nintendo Wii will go down in history as having one of the sh*tiest libraries in gaming history.

I wouldn’t say that the Wii is a “fad” by any stretch of the imagination. If it was “fad” material than sales would have dropped by now but they haven’t.

Sure nintendo sacrificed in the tech department (i don’t agree with that) but they made the system more affordable to a larger segment of the population unlike what sony did with the PS3 (c’mon 600 dollars is fucking stupid expensive). Above all what Nintendo did is that they showed us that graphics, resoulution, and 5.1 surround sound can be trumped by basic gameplay any day.

I would pick Twillight Princess over Heavenly Sword(a graphics demo) any day of the week. I don’t think you understand that graphics are pretty low on the totem pole of what makes a game interesting.

And I forsee the PS3 traveling down the path of the Neo-Geo. A lot of technology to back it up, but the weaker systems offered just as good or better games at a fraction of the cost.
Also after looking through the PS3′s entire library and most of the upcoming games I’ve come up with a list of only four games I would even play. I could name probably five on the Wii. So I won’t say that the PS3 has a strong library.

@Erik – I’m not trying to convince you. Just because ‘YOU’ don’t ‘LIKE’ – which I know you’re lying (but let’s assume for now) – the games I listed. I’m going by everyone’s perspective on the aformentioned games. If you go review for review, the PS3 has waaaay more games that have received 8′s and above. And even the ratio of good games (not according to your gospel, but everyone elses) is way higher on the PS3. I agree that the price of the PS3 was way too high at release, but now with all the great games on it, the ones in it’s future, the always-improving online, and the BluRay victory, it’s a hell of a deal. Plus the reliability, and knowing that it will be around for a long time make for even better reasons to own one.
@Coldyellow – The sales don’t mean that it’s not a ‘fad’. The system is still very young. Just until recently – developers, critics, and the media have taken notice of the poor production values of most Wii third party games. And the thing with the Wii is that real gamers aren’t playing it. You really think people are waiting on their toes for freakin’ “No More Heroes”, “Mario Kart” and “RE: Umbrella Chronicles”? No sir. I guarantee you at the end of the year that the only games the Wii will have on the “Best of the Year” lists will be for the Wii category.

I could easily say the Wii has NO games worth playing, because Zelda games have always bored me, Mario galaxy is just another Mario game, Metroid’s style isn’t for me and I don’t care about the characters, and No More Heroes has horrible graphics. But I know there are people who like those games, and therefore I will say the Wii has those games that are worth checking out. But you’re just being ridiculous when you say the great list of games the PS3 has don’t interest you.

Folklore is a niche game really. I didn’t care for the demo but it was definitely innovative in the way you pull out spirits or powers out of the monsters.
But just for the record screw all you haters out there R&C was sweet and took me a pretty long time to beat and kept the fun up the second time thru. Also are you guys forgetting about GOW2? That game was GORGEOUS and was on that so called crappy ps2 so suck on that pickle, ain’t it sour?

thats funny because i loved my gamecube. sure it had very little games but there was definitely quality vs. quantity unlike the wii. just because something sells like crazy doesn’t make it good. the backstreet boys sold millions of records that doesn’t make their music good does it?

What are these games on the Wii that you are SO interested in? And why don’t you compare the PS3′s exclusive games, review for review with the Wii’s? Once again, it doesn’t matter what “YOU” think, it’s the fact that the PS3 has a higher ratio of above average reviewed game than the Wii. There is no going around that.
Sony Computer Entertainment came in first place in 2007 when it came to all-around highest scored reviewed games for a developer.
Nintendo came in, I believe third place, and M$ came in like 7th.
Look it up, I’m too lazy to do it myself.

My gosh people. How long has the 360 been out? How many units has it sold worldwide all together? Of course sales will eventually start to drop. It doesn’t mean it’s about to die. The PS3 will eventually start selling more a month than the 360, just because everybody who wants one has one.
360′s first year was hardly explosive, with the exception of Oblivion (which I personally didn’t get on that well with) and Gears.
I got mine with Perfect Dark Zero, PGR3 and Kameo. PDZ was pretty dull while Kameo lost it’s way after the awesome first level.
Out of that list, I can only thing of getting DoA4 (which wasn’t that much fun), Prey (which I really enjoyed), Burnout Revenge (which was ok, but Burnout Legends on PSP is the best Burnout imo) and Enchanted Arm (didn’t like the battle system).
Arguably, PS3′s launch games were better, but we’ve had to live with them much longer. I’ve only had Resistance (which I was seriously surprised by, but I had low expectation for it), Motorstorm (really enjoyed) and Rachet and Clank (was ok, but got fogotten until I finished Mario Galaxy).
Wii has the most inconsistent library, having 1 truely excellent title for every 20 piles of junk. I only really have Wii and PS3 for their exclusives, and the number of games I’m after on each system is about the same. I always get multiformat games on the 360 ‘cos I prefer the controller and like that I can access MSN through Xbox Live
You know what, I look forward to checking this site every week or so, because I need a good laugh. I will weigh in this way. Just remember that if Microsoft wanted to, they could BUY Sony. Never mind the fact that the majority of all the games and systems use Microsoft based languages, but from the time I have observed this board, pointing out facts and expecting rational thought is a waste of time.
But by all means keep defending your Blu-Ray player with game capability. Because in the end, I think the saying “I thinks thou doth protest too much” sums up your beliefs in the PS3 faith of being number one. The only group I have seen raising soo much hell and lies is this board right here.

And Paul is right, I’m talkin’ about games that were on the level of the games I listed. I could list a bunch of Wii exclusive games, but about 90% of the list would be made up of garbage. And the only reason the 360 had all those so called “exclusives” was because it was the only system out, if the PS3 would have been rushed like the 360 was, then it would have had all of those third party games as well. The argument simply can’t be made anymore – about the PS3 not having games. All of these games are above average games on the PS3:

half of those games listed are multi-format, so you have 10 exclusives, most of which only just nudge above average and only 1 of which is considered AAA by more then fanboys (MGS4, which I may as well point out isn’t actually out yet.
And you’re compairing games that will come out next year to games that come out this year? not the fairest of comparisons. and not enough of Gears 2 has been shown to call it 1.5 (in which case, Resistance and Motorstorm will only be 1.5 as well)
Finally: Ninja Gaiden 2 will be awesome. God of War 3 will be awesome. end of story.
well 360 owners can brag about gta 4 exclusive content, but ps3 owners can brag about LA noire. everyone wins either way. ninja gaiden 2 vs. god of war 3? dman there goes my cash cause i will definitely get both. alas the wii has nothing to look forward aside from maybe a new zelda (which i will get on the first day) and more remakes of 20 year old IPs who have been whored out too much. super mario mushroom rehab clinic? I also never said the PS3 never had any games either (dick). What I’m saying is that due to that head start the 360 it did put them at a advantage (I admit the hardware was rushed and full of problems) of having more of a choice. I’m sure if the roles where reversed then we would be having the same arguement but where not. Some of those games on my list from my earlier post are gems that where forgotten especially The Outfit (it came out when GRAW and Oblivion where released or going to be). Also 10 of those games are on the 360 you listed and either scored higher or the same as the PS3 version (the orange box).
I do find it interesting that you mention L.A. Noire since the RUMOR is that Sony ain’t funding the game no more so a 360 version is quite possible.

And still I hold firm. The reason I will not spend the stupid high amount of money on a PS3 is because of its weak library. And even if the Wii’s library isn’t the greatest ever (that would be either the PS2 of the SNES), at least it doesn’t cost $400 damn dollars.
And before you try to shove your list of games that are good in your opinion. I will state that out of the entire library of PS3 games, including unreleased games the total games I would buy comes to four. I’m sure I could name five or six with the Wii.

@Erik – Once again Erik, not MY opinions. Like I’ve said before, according to reviews. Those game garnered 7s, 8s and above. And I saw that the ONLY game you could list was Star Wars, which is going to be multi-platform.

The funny thing is that you feel that you have to make an argument of why you don’t buy a PS3, on a PS3 site. damn dude thanks I just tell it like it is. Sabateour is a 3rd person stealth WW2 action game set in Paris. It is mainly presented in black and white. But as you kill nazis in the city the color comes in too symbolize hope and a willing to fight.
Also there seems to be shades of AC in it as well with the whole running on rooftops and walking around the streets (as well as driving cars since your character is a race car driver if memory serves me correctly). Alas I did hear that there is another game called Velvet Assassin that has a female lead instead of male and set in the same time period (possible worth a look as well).

I don’t give a damn about those reviews. I’VE looked at the library of games and I’Ve decided that the library is weak. Once again, the system has only four games out of the pre-existing and future games that interest me.
The biggest decided in my decision of purchasing either 360 or PS3 is I went to the video store and looked at both walls of games. Guess which one interested me more?

360 > Wii > PS3

i dont know but the n64 version was awesome for what i remember. i havent tried the new one but i really didn’t like the demo. i heard its saving grace though is the multiplayer. the boring gun was the best, i mean who doesn’t want to drill holes in enemies skulls right?

What I’m trying to do is show that the PS3 has games that have been well-received and regardless of your tastes – the over-all consensus is that the Wii library is very lacking compared to the Wii. Good thing that’s your opinion because I HIGHLY disagree with you (2nd greatest maybe but definitly either 3rd or 4th best).
Now this is my opinion; the NES is it hands down. Brought back gaming from the crash of the 80′s, Final Fantasy made its start there (I heard reason square called it that was potentially there LAST game), Zelda, Metroid, Contra, Castlevania, Tecmo Bowl and lest we forget Metal Gear. Hell without that console they would be distant memories. Also that machine almost lasted untill the PS1 came out (one of the last games to be released was Kirbys Adventure back in 94, one year before the PS1 to be released).
Now I’m not calling you a sony fanboy but you tend to quite biased to them and that comment calling the PS2 the greatest is kinda a slap to the face of gamers (like me who love games and not hold a bias to any of them).

sadly thats true. games that i like are far too few on the system and they dont sell. instead shovelware gets sold at decent rates and incompetent devs believe they can get away with it. if anything, wii is hurting gaming.

being a Wii owner as well it’s hard to find new good shit to play on it among the sea of bile. As far as hurting gaming; I don’t know. I mean it gets my wife to play as with my 3 year old (sure we play wii sports as a family but my daughter likes SMG as well). I did bring in alot of ppl to play games that normally just play solitare on the PC. Also why do you think MS and Sony are trying so hard to get a piece of the casual market pie, so that leads me to believe Nintendo is doing something right. I really think it’s unfair for ‘Zak and Wiki’ and ‘No More Heroes’ to fail on the Wii – just because Nintendo feels unstoppable – and they feel that these games will go up against their Nintendo franchises and affect their sales.
I truly believe this is going to come back and bite Nintendo in the rear one day. Little by little the Wii-mote’s novelty is wearing out. For God’s sake! It’s not even about gaming anymore! (Wii-fit!)

OK I’ll try and say something of relevance…I don’t see the need to bash the Wii,it ain’t in competition with the Ps3,let’s be honest. It’s like comparing a hot-air balloon to a spaceship.

Then why do you waste your time attacking other systems if they aren’t in competition with the PS3? A better question I think I should ask you after reading all of your posts, is exactly what do you want from your system? I see the Xbox 360 as the system with the best games at the moment, which is why I own one, the Wii as a casual pick up and play game that has a few innovative gems and some solid titles, though not much, I really like SSBB, which is why I’m planning on getting one.
Now, when I look at the PS3, I see a cheap blu-ray player (in the sense it costs less than others) with some fashionably good games, but nothing that strikes me as killer app material, sure there’s games like Warhawk and soon Killzone, but nothing I can’t get a fix for on the 360 if I really wanted to. So, I just ask you, and anyone else, what is the PS3 to you?

Overtime, more and more publishers and developers have come out to vindicate Sony’s decision in using Blu-ray media as the primary medium for the PlayStation 3. Earlier on, skeptics told Sony that Blu-ray was pointless, that it only drove up the cost of the PS3, and that DVD storage was enough. As time has gone by, those skeptics have been proven wrong time and time again. Dan Houser has made perhaps the most important critique and justification of Sony’s decision to use Blu-ray.
Who’s Dan Houser? The Co-founder, along with brother Sam, of Rockstar…you know, those Grand Theft Auto guys. Speaking to 1up, Dan Houser states the standard dual-layer DVD simply isn’t enough, and that it too became a problem during GTAIV’s development. This raises some concern on whether or not the next Grand Theft Auto game will fit on an Xbox 360 disc, because Rockstar’s motto has consistently been focused on making each and every new game larger than the last.
“One of the problems with the 360, and it affects games like Grand Theft Auto if you think about how much content we put in the actual machine, is the fact that they don’t have a significantly larger storage medium than the previous systems. It’s a slightly bigger DVD disc,” Houser told 1up.
The hard drive issue is also another problem Rockstar sees with the Xbox 360, as not every Xbox 360 has a hard drive, which makes it very hard for Rockstar to implement HDD features into the X360 game. The ps3 to me is just another game console with games I want to play on it. I could care less about blu-ray since I don’t own a HDTV and watching movies on dvds work just fine for me (and there cheaper to buy and when you boil it down the format doesn’t matter as long as the movie is good.). Otherwise the PS3, 360, and Wii are just gaming consoles and gaming is something I love to do in my spare time. So the more consoles I own the more the merrier.

The Wii is a gaming console like it or not. It plays video games (alot of shovelware) so there fore its a videogame console. It’s too early to say it’s not a fad.
They already blew their load with Zelda, Mario, Metroid and Brawl.
How long does it take Nintendo to release a Mario game? Miyamoto isn’t about to rush just to release another one. What’s the ratio? One per console? The Metroid saga came to an end, didn’t it? Zelda games are the same, they take ages to complete. And let’s not even begin with Smash – the reason they added the stage builder is because they know we wont get another version for another 7 years or something.
The ‘real’ games are wearing very thin on the Wii.
Of course it will be here for a couple more years. But systems are supposed to have more games the second year. Not true with the Wii.
They pretty much only have Wii-fit planned for 08. Mario Kart is cool, but again, they are just recyling… It got an 8 on Nintendo Power.
They aren’t even focused on gaming. They want to get everybody and their mother, literarly, on the Wii. Not for gaming, but for ‘other stuff’.
The longer it is out, the more it will turn away from being a gaming machine.
But hey! If it keeps on getting games for a few more years, it will only keep on adding to the PS2′s library.

WiiWare is the equivalent of what PSN and Live already have. The first three games are mad wack. A table tennis game (Wii tennis on a smaller scale), a kiddy Final Fantasy game – where you have to spend real money to actually make the game better, and the third one I don’t even remember, since it was even wacker.

It’s not for me, but I know enough about it and played through the first hour to know it’s a good game. System seller though? Far from it. In your opinion maybe. If I owned a PS3 the best experience I would get out of it would be dusting it after its long periods of disuse.
I still laugh at the concept of “defending” or “attacking” consoles. Unless you hold stock in a company, do sales matter? Do they have any effect upon your enjoyment of the games? As long as they aren’t bad enough to kill a console, no. So… why is everyone throwing a fit about sales? Live and let live.

March NPD: Wii, Smash Bros. on top, software sales surge
(btw, with playstation family you count psp, ´ps3 and ps2 you are trying to cover porr ps3 sales and with all that you still dont beat the wii)
If this is how Nintendo does before the predicted Wii Fit-exacerbated shortages, we’re a little scared for what the future will hold. As predicted, Nintendo dominated the March NPD sales report, selling over 720,000 Wiis and 698,000 DS units. The DS and Wii represented 58 percent of hardware sales for March, leapfrogging over one another to swap positions from the February numbers.
Further down the list, the Xbox 360 regained an extremely slight sales lead over the PS3, mainly due to a slight dip in Sony’s system sales. We predict the systems will likely continue trading slight leads like a couple of fading horses in the home stretch of a marathon-length race, until one inevitably dies just short of the finish line. And speaking of dead horses, the perpetual PS2 finally showed some signs of weakening this month, plummeting down nearly 63 percent from February’s sales.

Software sales also met predictions in rising 57 percent to $1.7 billion for the month. Super Smash Bros. rode a wave of hype to a ridiculous 2.7 million sales — that’s more than last month’s top ten combined. Shooters had a good month, with the Xbox 360′s Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and Army of Two rounding out the top three for the month (the PS3 version of Army of Two also showed up in tenth place) while Wii Play, Guitar Hero and Call of Duty 4 continued their seemingly endless runs on the top ten. The PSP also made a couple of relatively rare appearances in the top ten, with the God of War and Final Fantasy brands finally making people interested in UMDs again.
