Anyway, the real news is that the Playstation 3 is now the leader in Europe! It was officially announced that the PS3 has surpassed the 360 in sales. EVEN THOUGH the 360 had a 14 month head start! EVEN THOUGH the 360 costs a lot less! EVEN THOUGH the 360 blew it’s load with HALO 3! EVEN THOUGH it got another price cut in Europe!
Sorry about that. It’s exciting to see how well our beloved PS3 is doing over there.
You 360 fans have to admit that it’s a pretty amazing feat.

Considering the price, yes. But maybe the people in those countries have a generally higher income, or they aren’t very savvy shoppers.
@animekid3515 – Yeah, it’s true. Remember, Sony can’t have an event without some bad news. Sucks, but oh well. It could turn out to be a good thing, this way we wont have to pick between Killzone 2 and Resistance 2.

Put it this way guys, if the PS3 can outsell the 360 WITHOUT Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, God of War, Socom, Killzone, Little Big Planet and Home on their system.
How is the 360 supposed to outsell it when those tittles drop? Imagine the amount of PS3s that are going to sell in Japan once FF13 drops. The NPD numbers are going to look like this
PS3 – 98,000
PSP – 53,000
PS2 – 24,000
X-Box 360 – 127
And that will only be for one week.
What do you think Coldyellow? I know you love your 360, but you’re very rational. You think the 360 can do something to compete?

But what I do know, is that the PS3 had outsold the 360 for a couple months in the U.S. as well, up until last month. When it sold 5,000 less.
But you have to remember that the PS3 has Haze, MGS4 and GTP coming out, I’m pretty sure that’s gonna put them over the top again.
I know you guys think I’m exagerating with the NPD predictions, but I might not be too off.
The 360 sells about 1,000 units a week in Japan. If the PS3 has TWO Final Fantasy games out, who in Japan is gonna go out and buy a 360?
I wouldn’t be suprised if the 360 sold in the low hundreds for a couple months once FF13 is released.

It may push it over the top yes. But in my opinion no game should be able to push the P$3 over the top. I guess gaming consumers aren’t as smart with money as they used to be when they were able to not be fooled by the Sega CD and the Neo-Geo. If things were then as they are now then I fully suspect the Phillips-CDI would prosper.

by reading this list of okay games, all I see is the absence of MGS4, GT5 (the real game), Final Fantasy 13, …
so I guess that these games have been cancelled (due to the overpriced cost of making PS3 games) and are now headed to Xbox 360
Thats awesome, and now these games will come out even faster because Xbox is the superior development platform…
keep your PS3 !!!, I like playing online, but when you go online, its even better when there are people to play against !!!

Even though you weren’t addressing me, I think that the 360 will be the sucktage this year, there are very few games coming out for the 360 this year that have caught my eye, and MGS online has quite honestly made me start considering getting a PS3. That isn’t to say that the 360 is about to lose however, the ps3 is supposedly ahead of the 350 in europe according to sony, so that’s interesting to take note of, but not at all confirmed yet, all companies like to…dramatize, but we’ll see. I think the Xbox 360 won’t move as many consoles this year, not due to lack of system support, quite the opposite, the good games of holiday 07 and before already came out, and most all of the killer apps have already moved enough consoles. Contrary to what many say though, i think 2009 will actually be a better year for 360, rather than it’s time to die, and many games in the 09 year will boost sales again for the 360, but the PS3 won’t overtake the 360 in the 08 fiscal year, GoW2 will move enough consoles to stop that mainly due to the hype machine. MGS will move a lot too, and will the new FF installments, but not enough to topple the 360 yet, at least not until 09. 2009 is going to be one of the best years for gaming, and i believe, the 360/PS3 decider. I think PS3 will stay at close odds with 360 in the EU, the PS3 will always have a geeenerous lead in JP, and the 360 will keep a hold of US markets at least till the end of 2008.

Only according to Sony themselves. It’s the same talk when Microsoft say the 360 is doing well. Of course the consoles own company is going to state their console is doing the best at any given day, it’s what they’re trying to sell.
