Confirmed: Bioshock coming to PS3
Report: Xbox 360 Exclusive BioShock Coming To PS3
Submitted by Nick Smith on Thu, 2008-05-22 11:22.According to the cover story of the UK PlayStation magazine PSM3, the Xbox 360 exclusive BioShock is coming to PS3.
While no details are available about the upcoming title, the website CVG states that the issue, which comes out June 5, will include a detailed preview of the new PlayStation 3 version as well as a plethora of screenshots.
When asked for a comment, Take-Two issued a blunt “no comment”, but that’s to be expected. There is also another European magazine that’s promoting the PlayStation 3 port of BioShock as well…so there’s obviously something in the works.
About the original, CVG had gushed that “the fantastic role-playing elements, standout scenarios and truly mental character encounters make it extra special. An experience of this calibre only comes around every few years and should be played by as many people as possible.”
SDF confirmed this story back in September of 2007, but it’s good to see the gaming media can’t ignore it any longer. Expect a full, unbiased review of the definitive version of Bioshock when it’s released.

The definitive version was released last year.
And sorry SDF, a guess isn’t confirming shit.
Also it’s not a 360 exclusive, it’s also on the PC.
Nice to see the SDF is proud to get Microsoft’s leftovers again.
Here’s what I predict.
The PS3 port of Bioshock will turn out the way the PS3 port of Lost Planet did.
wonderful.
the game comes out on the PS3 when nobody cares about it anymore.
Bioshock will look great at 576p in the PS3!!!!!!
@animekid
Been a while, how’s the music carreer working out?
@TampaX
You’re damn right it would look great at 576p on Ps3, it would look great at 76p…well maybe not great, but better than 360.
This was by far the worst, buggiest, freeziest experience I ever had with 360, bad memories.
SDF got it right!
got a ps3 last week with assassin creed, glad i made the right choice..all you xbot losers need to find something else to do while waiting for your box to return from repairs, i mean what are you going to do when ff13,8days,wardevil, comes out. 2008-2009 are going to be big years for ps, glad i joined in, now have to play catch up with uncharted, heavenly sword, motorstorm & warhawk.
Lol Sony Defense force is funny. I mean I gotta say that this parody site is great. There is no way that people can be THIS much of a Sony dick licker. You hated Bioshock one day but now when it comes to the ps3 when nobody gives a crap about any more (not to mention it looks best on the PC)? Come on now. There’s no way these people are for real.
Paul, how did you get a copy of the PS3 version already?
Well, I’m glad you PS3 players will get to enjoy this Gem on your own console.
I can see it now:
Bioshock on PS3: 576p, crappy Sixaxis controls, 4.5GB installation, and….. 90 minute-cutscenes (MGS4) hahahahahahahahahaha
It’s about time the PS3 got a great game to play even if it is leftovers. Look on the bright side, there’s no online so maybe the game will run somewhat smooth as a port.
I never got any freezes playing this game Paul, or bugs, quite honestly I don’t think you’ve ever owned a Xbox 360. The buggiest games for me are usually EA games, when you log into the EA servers. Both the Godfather and Army of Two locked up on me multiple times seconds after I would log in, even when all it does is a simple stat upload in the Godfather.
Cool. So now I can play a version that will actually run decently, unlike the inferior Xbox 360 version.
I don’t think Hans has played Bioshock.
EscapeTheHate
I’m ever so pleased it ran ok for you, but for me and many others it was practically unplayable, especially after the patch.
You don’t think I ever owned a 360? I understand why you say that, I don’t seem dumb enough do I? Unfortunately I did own one (3 if you count repairs). I put it down to impatience waiting for the real thing to be released.
no, I don’t see a reason to believe you. Quite simply.you seem too full of rhetorical venom for the 360, I don’t see how you could have bought one in the first place. I mean, even the most scorned 360 owner could admit when the 360 did something right, or what they liked about the 360, but I fail to see that in any of your comments. All i see are childish, uneducated comments about things you seem to know little about. This isn’t me sitting on a high horse as i say this either, this is you presenting yourself below others by childish taunts and biased comments.
why do xboxers love so much posting on this blog?
I played BioShock on my Xbox 360 and the framerate was so bad that it gave me headaches.
Because it’s like a giant troll in the middle of a valley between Xboxville and PS3ville. A literal troll.
Expect a full, unbiased review of the definitive version of Bioshock when it’s released.
The definitive version = 640p I wonder?
@retro With added Blu-ray! and Cell! so therefore its amazing
EGM is also covering Bioshock on the PS3 in their next issue and there is a screen where it says something like this:
“Proof why Bioshock is better on the PS3″
I’m sure it will run fine, and I don’t know about it being better as in a better experience compared to the 360, but better because it will have some new things, including everything available for download on the 360, which I didn’t even know it had. For the same price.
Please guys, stop hating on this…damn…it doesn’t have anything to do with you 360 kids. It’s not going to make the PS3 a must have, but trust me, it’s not going to hurt it either. If anything, it’s going to help.
And I dunno if you guys know this, but I’ll say it again, Metal Gear Solid 4 takes roughly 30 hours to pass through, that includes about 8 hours of cut scenes, which if any of you have played MGS4 before, isn’t out of the ordinary.
And that’s not counting the replayability of the game, see you’ll have to earn points to buy weapons, and the best and most fun weapons are really hard to get, and also, don’t forget about MGO.
MGS4 isn’t for everybody, I personally love that shit.
So please guys, save it, there’s nothing you can do or say that will make MGS4 not be as epic as it’s going to be.
People have already played through it, and claim it is freakin’ amazingly mind blowing, especially the ending.
UPDATE: METAL GEAR SOLID 4 DOES NOT HAVE A 90-MINUTE CUT-SCENE.
UPDATE: METAL GEAR SOLID 4 DOES NOT HAVE A 90-MINUTE CUT-SCENE.
UPDATE: METAL GEAR SOLID 4 DOES NOT HAVE A 90-MINUTE CUT-SCENE.
Just to make sure you guys get it.
“I’ve beat the game twice, and am the author of the forthcoming [GamePro] review,” Shuman said. “Ninety-minute-long cinemas in MGS4 sounds like an exaggeration. Like the other MGS games, MGS4 definitely has a cinematic quality. And yes, some of the cut-scenes in the game are elaborate and occasionally lengthy. But not a one, to my recollection, even approaches 90 minutes.
“I think it’s safe to say that the ’90 minutes cinemas’ claim is a pretty big exaggeration,” he told GamePro News.
THANK GOD.
This better be fucking huge compared to the 360/PC version. And I mean FUCKING HUGE. I’m talking full graphics revamp, 20 new plasmids, 5 extra levels, more back story.
Basically, bloody make it BioShock 1.5 and bundle it with BioShock 2.
Else I won’t spend my money on a game that’s like one and a half years old.
Hans, I call you out on this one. Pics of your set up, or it didn’t happen.
Well, good news to all you PS3 owners. Hans and Paul, if you really played BioShock, who kills the final boss, and detail the environment when you fight the first boss, the mad doctor.
Also, you’re not ad-free. There is an advertisement for Sony Defense Force at top of your page.
I mean, seriously.
Oh, and to actually be serious, I have ads from Google on the side of my page as I type this.
@stickemup
All the DLC for Bioshock is free for the 360.
@Hans
if I remember correctly you only reviewed the DEMO which did have some problems but WHERE NOT IN THE RETAIL BUILD. Also if you did experience framerate drops then I recommend that you stop hitting the pause button (or guide button) and that should fix your problem. BTW Right trigger used your currently equipped weapon and not the start button.
Yeah Hans, Sixaxis demands satisfaction!!1
@Stickemup
Don’t let the jealous xboxers get you down, you don’t need to defend your beloved MGS series.
Personally I have a pretty anorexic taste in games, if it ain’t a FPS or racer there’s a good chance I don’t play it. That said, I’ll keep an eye on the reviews and who knows? You think a first-timer would get to grips with MGS4?
I’m not jealous, this game is old news.
@Paul
Your enjoyment of MGS4 probably won’t be as much as someone who has been playing the MGS series from the beginning. Basically would you start watching (or reading) the Lord of the Rings trilogy with Return of the King?
@Paul – HAHAHAHA… @Sixaxis, that is officially his new name.
You really only play FPS and racers? You play yourself some Ridge Racer?
Umm that’s really hard to answer man, I would like to see you play it, but truth be told, MGS4 isn’t for everyone.
That’s why it will never sell like a Halo or a Gears of War. The story and the gameplay are just so good though that it’s still one of the most beloved franchises ever – even if it’s not for everyone.
You should check it out though, from what people have said, this time around you have more of a choice to play with stealth tactics, or rambo style. Oh yeah, plus you can also play the game in FPS mode. Which should be fun. I say you jump in Paul!
I’d join in on the name calling thing, but I’m above that sort of game.
Owning BioShock for the 360 I can state with 100% certainty that Hans is LYING (per usual) about the game’s frame rate.
PC version of Bioshock and perhaps al other games that make it to PC normally will be far better than any console version, no doubt.
Hey SDF, Hey SDF, how come you guys never got back to me on your “DS dies in 2007″ fopah? If you were wrong about that, why is it so hard to admit that you fucked up?
Hahahahahahaha. So the “mighty” POS3 resorts to stealing Microsoft leftovers? No one actually gives a shit about Bioshock now, same as when the POS3 version of Lost Planet came out. NO. ONE. CARES.
Enjoy your awsome 3000+ minute install time, because the PC Version of the game is 9 gigs.
6 gigs I meant to say.
@stickemup
Not to knock on Paul but he might get pretty confused by the story if he hasen’t even touched the previous installments in the MGS series. Unless included on the disc is a series retrospective or a complete summary he might not enjoy the game as much as someone who knows whats going on.
@Paul
Definitly get caught up on the story of the MGS series. MGS4 is supposed to tie everything up and conclude Solid Snakes story.
@Sixaxis – You’re still very annoying. Chill already, nobody is with you on anything, not even 360 owners. You’re just annoying.
@ROFLCOPTER – I dunno if you know this or not, but Sony has nothing to do with this coming to their system, it was originally being developed for both consoles.
How is it stealing? If you’re using stupid logic, then the 360 stole GTA4 and Devil May Cry 4. Sounds stupid huh?
If nobody cared about Bioshock on the PS3, then these magazines wouldn’t have features on it. And your ass wouldn’t be going out of your way to comment on it.
EGM claims that it will be graphically superior and have a few extras, which is great for PS3 owners who didn’t get a chance to play it on PC. Just because it came out a year ago doesn’t mean it’s less enjoyable, you’re just mad that you can no longer use Bioshock as one of your reasons to own a 360.
@Paul – ColdYellow is right about that, it ties up EVERYTHING of the series in this game. There are places where you can watch like 20 minute videos that give a really good backstory.
Stickemup, I was just saying that Bioshock is going to turn out like Lost Planet as in, no one will care much about it. PS3 users could also play Bioshock, but once you’ve played it, there is no real incentive to play it again. I’ve finished it once and do not intend to finish it again.
Bioshock = Fun, but boring after the 5/6 mark.
this was confirmed by 2K on IGN yesterday
stop saying it’s a guess Xbots, its the real deal
according to PSM3 and Gamepro the PS3 version will get all the DLC released on the PC and upgraded visuals= definitive version
next up- Dead Rising and Mass Effect
this is also cool because it indicates that Bioshock 2 will see the light of day on PS3, and that Surfer Girl really is a b!tch
sorry Xbots- MS relies on 3rd party, which they will lose to the PS3
Hey sosolid, no one was saying this news was fake. Try to keep up.
@Stickemup and Jello
You’ve confirmed what I’d suspected, MGS seems to be such a story driven game that even some people who HAVE played the whole series are now looking for a recap on the story so far. So there’s plenty of sites where I can get some idea of what’s going on.
Like I said, I’ll keep an eye on reviews and comments to see if gamers in my position are enjoying it even though they haven’t played before. God knows, I need to branch out into different types of games because I’ve mastered the FPS and racer to such a degree that no one on PSN can challenge me, and that’s just unfair.
sosolidsnake,
What do you call Final Fantasy or MGS? First party games? Is that why they have the name “Sony” listed as the dev? Oh wait…they don’t.
For the love of my species, don’t you EVER breed.
Oh and Capcom doesn’t give two fucks about porting old games to the PS3. And MS has the Mass Effect IP locked in, sorry! But I LOVE to burst Sonyboy bubbles.
Oh, I don’t trust anything PSM, OXM, Nintendo Power, or ANY mag that focuses on ONE console has to say!
@six1s – Not true. If Microsoft owned the Mass Effect IP, then BioWare, now owned by EA, wouldn’t be allowed to develop the sequels let alone the PC port of the game.
So yea, either EA or BioWare own the IP. And EA will be making Mass Effect 2 and 3, I guarantee you that.
Just face it, Microsoft pretty much loses exclusives as months go by since they did shit to lock them in. It’s worse than what Sony was fighting last year.
@NinSony$haft
*spoiler alert* for Ps3ers wanting to play Bioshock 3.9
The little tarts killed the last dude (after I’d weakened him up). Also there was a slightly alternate ending/dialogue depending on if you’d been harvesting or saving said little tarts. If you and EscapeTheHate still don’t believe I owned a 360 then bollocks to you, It’s not something I’m proud of anyway.
@Stickemup and Jello
Thanks for the response, I posted my response to your responses but I’m getting no response from the response moderator, what can you do?
* Looks at how good the Lost Planet port was and laughs *
@Paula
You still didn’t detail the environment where you fight the first boss.
Also, I still have ads on the side of my page.
@ Paul
That’s hardly proof, that’s a wikipedia search away. Secondly, I’m suprised you’d actually get to the end, seeing as how the game was the buggiest, freeziest experience you’ve ever had. Seriously, you haven’t said one good thing about the Xbox 360, like ever. and if you did, it would probably be some comment about the 360 would make a good radiator or something.
@ Jack
Yes, that’s true, but MS is really trying to keep the Mass Effect IP exclusive, but apparently it’s a timed exclusive, as is Mass Effect 2 for now. That may either mean that it was timed for the PC, or that it’s timed for a PS3 release.
@Denial Boy Paul
If it means anything to you, I also don’t believe that you owned a 360. And if you did own a 360 you are no proceeding to LIE about it. Because your supposed first hand experiences regarding the 360 are completely false.
@Keri
You don’t strike me as all knowing, or particularly intuitive, or even mildly intelligent…ish, so how could you know what I’ve owned and how my experience was with it? When someone has such a low opinion of the 360 as I do, that’s a pretty good indicator that they have owned one.
Ehhh…I think this is one of those cases where the majority of people who would have played Bioshock would have already done so at this point. Kind of like how MS finally ported Halo 2 to PC like a hundred years after it had already been out.
How come you guys haven’t covered Haze yet? I need to know if I’m supposed to blindly buy it!
@Denial Boy Paul
“When someone has such a low opinion of the 360 as I do, that’s a pretty good indicator that they have owned one.”
No it doesn’t actually. But it is a good indicator that they are a $ony fanboy. Again, just about everything you have said about the 360 is a LIE.
@Paul – HAHAHAHAHAHA KERI! Man Paul where do you come up with this stuff?
@ROFLCOPTER – Sorry about the misunderstanding, I see what you mean.
@sixaxis – I’m not sure if you meant that MGS4 and Final Fantasy 13 are in jeopary of being ported to the 360, but if you did, let me point out something. There are some problems with that, first off, they come from Japanese developers. Kojima has shown over and over in interviews that he’s not your regular money hungry developer, he’s one of those purist, and he feels that Japanes devs are getting overshadowed by American devs. The man is out to prove a few points.
The 360 for sure will get games like “The Last Remnant” but “Final Fantasy” is even more synonomous (in my opinion) with the Playstation brand. Yes, you have a bunch of spin-offs and remakes on the DS and Wii, but the MAIN FF games have been Playstation games. I’m not saying it’s not possible, but it sure as hell has a smaller chance of being ported than a franchise like Mass Effect that is only a year old.
The second problem is the size. Final Fantasy is going to very similiar to MGS. It’s going to be huge. These games just simply can’t fit on a DVD.
Those are the two differences that seperate those games from let’s say Mass Effect, or Bioshock.
Just my thoughts.
Hope this isn’t too naughty or illegal.
If anyone needs to top up their XBL subscription, here’s my compensation for waiting 6 weeks for a 360 repair, a 4 week subscription, yippee!
BP7QY-TDQ36-XYTFQ-3G8VV-B9FRB Redeem by 06/30/2009
If I had my way I’d gift it to OldJello, if he had use for it.
@Paul
Thanks man I appreciate it and the code did work.
@erik
The code paul just typed out worked and so if he didn’t like the 360 thats his opinion. I bought shit before thought I would like and it turned out i didn’t.
Jack, I didn’t say they owned it. I said they have it locked in. It’s like if I payed my neighbor $50.00 a month mow only my lawn, and he signed a contract. I wouldn’t own the mower, but I would have his services locked in.
@six1s – But did BioWare sign any sort of contract like that? As far as I am aware, the IP originated from BioWare and Microsoft simply agreed to publish it, given the fact they would only publish it for the 360.
And that’s pretty much why you see the PC port being done and published by EA. Because they *can*. So to me, it’s not too far off to see the PS3 port happening in the near future. If Microsoft still had any sort of claim for that title, then the PC version would *need* to go through them as well. Which apparently it doesn’t.
Don’t get me wrong though. I played it on the 360 for a bit and I will continue to do so on the PC, so it’s not important to me if it comes to the PS3.
However, given the fact that my fucking 360 died and continues to do so, I wouldn’t mind the game on my PS3 so I could actually play it in my home theatre without any sort of concern regarding the hardware.
Also, a note to everybody: Leave Paul the fuck alone. It absolutely does not matter if he EVER owned a 360 or not.
Wanna know why? Because this is the Internets and we can give our asshole opinions on any which topic regardless of how justified or unjustified they are. You simply have to take them or ignore them. There’s no way you can prove anybody wrong here, and nobody has to prove anything to you in order to back his claims up. That’s how Internet works. It’s a dirty & serious business.
@jack
my 360 died a week after GTA4 came out and HAD a shit ton of problems with customer service and shit like that. Lets put it this way; I threatened legal action (there is a ton to this story dealing with a service contract) and about a week later they sent me a brand new console and I mean a NEW CONSOLE (box and everything).
@Coldyellow
“The code paul just typed out worked and so if he didn’t like the 360 thats his opinion. I bought shit before thought I would like and it turned out i didn’t.”
Not liking a system is one thing. Making up lies to justify said hatred is quite another. I could state that I don’t like the PS3, but I won’t claim that the PS3 give you AIDS.
@Jack
Internet anonymity or not, I don’t think I’d have the nerve to complain as much as I have about something I hadn’t even owned. But when I’ve been given such a shitty $hafty ride, it sure is a good place to vent.
@Keri
One day the Ps3 will cure your AIDS, then will you admit that it’s not overpriced?
@Jello
Pleased it worked for you, you’re welcome.
Jack,
Yeah, it was ported to PC.
But for what operating system? Windows.
Who makes Windows? MS.
Sure, it “could” happen, but I think the chances are super-slim at best. If MS had a pre-existing contract with Bio-ware, I’m fairly sure that the buy-out didn’t affect said contract. EA doesn’t want to step on MS’s toes, it would cost them too much.
@ColdYellow – Really? You didn’t mention this. Glad you got yourself a new system.
Mass Effect 2 hasn’t been denied on the PS3. It just seems weird how they can’t just say, “Yes, it’s a 360-exclusive”. All they said was “No comment”. That has led people to believe that no news, is good news.
You figure that if it was, they would have no problem with saying it is an exclusive, unless they’re working something out on the PS3.
My gamertag is InfraredChimera; if anyone wants to shoot the shit, play, or both its cool. just send a message with the request denoting who you are.
BTW any racing game fans in here check out the GRID Demo its a pretty fun game and a good buy imo.
@Paul
I’ll stop saying the P$3 is overpriced when the P$3 stops being overpriced.
@six1s – Fair enough. We will have to wait and see, as I can’t tell what the specifics of what sort of contract really are.
@Paul – Good point.
@ColdYellow – I thought about that, but when it gets to that, it’s like who cares. I’ve honestly had enough from that platform. Next time Microsoft releases a console, I won’t buy it till 4 years down the road after launch. They just can’t get the hardware right.
Regardless of the software that in my eyes is very mixed. Some really great and unique titles like Mass Effect, BioShock and Banjo mixed with overrated ass shooters like Gears or Halo.
Yea, I said it. Gears and Halo are god awful franchises and I wish they both die in a fire. They don’t offer anything unique and COD4 beat Halo3 in sales for a reason. The multiplayer is just antiquated by now.
@Xboxers
OldJello’s gamertag is InfraredChimera, if anyone wants to shoot the shit out of him, I’ll pay handsomely. J/K.
I have GRID on download now, I’ll prolly beat it first time…on hardest…blindfolded.
@Keri
Back to your bitchy best, awesome!
“Gears and Halo are god awful franchises and I wish they both die in a fire.”
Final Fantasy, and MGS are also. Make them die in a fire and I’ll take out both Halo, Gears, and raise you Tom Arnold!
I’m still waiting for Haze review.
@six1s – Final Fantasy you can have, but no way am I giving you MGS. For that, you can keep Gears of War.
I’ll trade you Resistance for Fable though. Deal?
I’m still waiting for the details of the environment where you fight BioShock’s first boss.
I’m still waiting for the Haze review too.
Also, there’s new Gears 2 multiplayer info. Its shaping up to be pretty fantastic. Its in the new OXM. There’s a Team Doubles gametype, a unique spin on CTF, and an alteration of Assassination plus more.
@OldJello
Good call with the GRID demo, I won my first race online.
Me>everyone online
Actually most of em quit, and a few more wrecked, but a win’s a win.
lol when Bioshock first came out, it was this very site that bashed it horribly in fanboy ways. Now that its coming to PS3, this ppl are gonna be praising it and saying its awesome lol thats funny. Plus there are some things that need to be known:
1. When they say this game is getting all DLC, the only thing that officially came out were like 2 or 3 free useless plasmids that were crap.
2. A majority of ppl already experienced this game on Xbox 360 and PC so dont expect it to be something thats brand new to the scene. It will probably be reviewed lower than the 360 cuz its not that big of a game anymore.
3. This game comes out a year to late to PS3 owners as better PS3 games will come out in the Fall to own this game like LBP, Socom, Resistance 2, and etc. I rather spend my time with MGS4 and Resistance 2 than play a year old port.
Note: I own both 360 and PS3
@Jack
I agree that Gears and halo are overrated but fun nonetheless. For me its been COD2 and COD4 and just picked up FEAR again.
@everyone
Besides picking up FEAR today I also picked up Killzone. I know I said it sucked but maybe when I played it last the Halo2 goggles where on and the hype of both these games where tremondous back in 04. So now I’m going back and giving it another stab and if it still sucks; oh well it only costed me $5 anyway.
Hahaha!! They actually think it’s going to the Playstation? Lmao! Yeah fucking right! They obviously heard the news! What dumb asses. It’s only for the PC and Xbox 360 baby!
Also anyone notice the new ad on the side that is boasting a free Xbox 360 and Halo 3? wtf?
@ Jack
I just realized how awesome it would be to trade games with other systems. Like, not to lose the game, but just to break a lot of exclusivity rights. Course it probably will never happen.
I think Bioshock on PS3 is a good thing. It IS a fantastic game. I do hope they don’t put in any Sixaxis stuff though, I’ve yet to really see a game that does it well.
Unfortunately, I doubt this will be a huge breadwinner for the PS3. As someone mentioned earlier, the ones who really want to play it, will already have played it.
But, I do hope it does well.
@Jack my other comment is waiting moderation but I think Call of duty called out to people more because it is a simpler game, a easier game. I used to play CoD extensively, until I realized how broken it could be.I’m not calling everyone who plays it a noob, but it is a bit too noob friendly. After I while i went back to Halo and haven’t played Call of duty half as much as halo, though I don’t play many games besides rock band vocals and guitar and drums as of late. Call of Duty 4, I think, seems to have went into a FPS phonebook, and just shredded out ideas from other games. Sure in some ways it is innovative, but it thrives on a practically useless 7 tier(?) prestige system. Call of duty got too campy for me, but it is a good game. As for Gears being god awful, well thats far from definitive, as I saw it Halo had defined a certain balance within itself, added an in game map customizer, video replay, which few games beyond racing games even do today, though it’s been done ages ago by far less next-gen games. Gears is almost a competitive multiplayer version of RE4 to me, and few games I’ve seen play like it.
Nah, I liked Fable, it got my big brother into RPGs.
I’ll kill Forza though!
Hey you guys don’t be messing with MGS or FF without asking me. I wasn’t a big fan of FF 12 (the lead character was way too feminen) but FF7, FF8, FF10, and FF Crisis Core were awesome. Crisis Core had me holding back tears at the end…
@Paul – What other racers are you good at? Bet you can’t beat me in Ridge Racer
On a sidenote, I was playing Uncharted for the second time around, in HD this time, and DAMN. The jet ski part towards the end when you’re going upstream looks amazing. Probably the best I’ve seen this generation. I seriously stepped back and just appreciated the jet ski being taken downstream. Wow.
Things that need to be cleared up over PS3 fanboy info.
1) Blu-Ray does absolutly nothing for the PS3′s rendering power… all it does is store more info (about 6 dvd disks). It was designed to hold the HD file sizes. So if a game came out that “truly” used all 50 gigs, the port to 360 would just be on 6 disks (and by truly, i mean the developers filled the disk with optimum compression to fit it on 1 blu-ray disk).
2) Graphics are based on the GPU, or graphics card. Then RAM and last procesor speed. So considering the GPU in both the 360 and PS3 are almost identical, its nothing more then a ATI vs. Nvidia fan fight.
3) Both cosoles have roughly the same amount and same speed ram. You can argue the ram fight either way.
And as an owner of both PS3 and 360 anybody that dosent own both, and can aford it are just missing out on great games and imo and need to stand down from their fanboyism and grow up (there is no such thing as a fanman).
Both 360 and PS3 GTA IV look great in 720p. Loading time at startup are almost identical (within 4 sec of eachother). But, not to nock the PS3, but its the only conole i have experianced slowdown with. Its not unbearable, but when at 6 stars my PS3 slows down when around 8 cops swarm me, where as of yet the 360 has yet to slow down (in the same scinario).
Bioshock IS coming to PS3… dont see why some people dont do their reaserch before posting…
Somebody asked why it apears that Sony has more fanboys, and imo i agree, but it is for mostly good reason. Sony has many major franchises that are 20 years old, where all xbox has new franchises. And the big thing being that japan has a rediculous biased towards the PS3. In japan when the 360 launched they where still selling more PS2′s by a large margin.
Anybody that dosent curently own a 360 or PS3 and want some buying advice:
1) Go with your gut, if your a Metal Gear, or Final Fantasy fan, and couldnt live without them, go with PS3
2) If you dont have time to game all the time, and are intrested in owning a HD tv for both games and movies, go with PS3.
3) If you spend alot of your time playing games, and can only aford one, I would say go with 360. Curently it has more high rated games, and your only missing out on a handfull of PS3 exclusives.
4) If you mainly play shooters (get a PC
) get a 360. It has many more, and if your into multiplayer the 360 is the obvious choice.
Thats it for my rant, and i do apologize for the spelling/grammer if any reader is ofended by the slaughter of the english language.

Eh, I’ve seen some trailers for MGS4, and they seemed rather corny (The cutscenes, anyway).
@mayweather83
And that tells us….
mayweather83,
You didn’t bother reading my analogy post about how even though someone doesn’t own something, doesn’t mean that they can’t buy the rights to it.
@Duck
You should ply Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighters 2 then. It is the only game I have on the PS3 that did an exceptional job thus far with the Sixaxis, nothing major, no Wii style junk, but it helps in rolling and other mini moves in the combat environment, ie til to the right fast to make you’re laid down character roll to the right is a very exceptional way to use the Siaxis feature, also can be used to tweek sniping since joysticks are still annoyingly tedious in that part of shooter combat, I use it for diving and rolling only though. Though I’ve heard the Siaxis is a nice thing to use on Warhawk when flying, but i’m too fixed to joysticks from Ace Combat series to think of tilt control for flight.
@six1s
yes i read it. but we know ea wants to make profit out of every single ip they own or publish. same with the orange box, it wasn’t supposed to come to ps3 but ea asked another software house to make a port.
actually i like mass effect as it is on the 360, and i know if ea will make a port, probably bioware will be busy making the sequel, so they ll let other devs to make the port, and then we will have another “orange box”.
@Lumina
Well that in, to me, boils down the problem with Sixaxis: it’s counter intuitive. What I’ve played, and seen of it (which is very limited mind you, but I’ve heard only minimal good about it) is that because of the sometimes jarring motions you may have to make (the shaking of enemies in Folklore for example) it just doesn’t feel the same as an analog stick.
It seems like it’s just added, to be added. No one has really perfected it yet, and I’m pretty sure there isn’t really a rush TO perfect it.
Though, I imagine it does help with sniping, because a simple tap of an analog stick seems to send things always just a bit further than you want. But I will have to give it a rental to accurately judge I guess.
But SDF, I thought Sony “Just says no!” to ports! http://www.sonydefenseforce.com/?p=286
Lol, ah, I remember that post. SDF Hypocrisy at its finest.
I fucked them in the ass with thier own news stories.
@six1s – Not really…the article clearly talks about last gen rehashes.
Unless you want to admit that BioShock was a lastgen shooter as would make the 360 a lastgen console?
Huh…Were the technical problems on the 360 version so bad that only PS3 owners were able to notice it? Were they so bad that it made the game deserve a 5 on this website when it received universal acclaim from all other sources? I didn’t think that they were the only reason this game received a 5. I thought the story sucked and the boss battles were unimaginative and the gameplay was derivative and many other perceived “flaws.” How would a PS3 port of the SAME GAME fix all these flaws to make it a 10?
And if Mass Effect ever came to the PS3, I guess no sony fanboys would ever play it because it was so bad. But maybe the simple fact that it is on the PS3 would fix all of its “glaring flaws.”
I don’t see the need for all this hating. They are just glorified computers.
This sums it up nicely. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/5/23/
Hey Paul, did Sony send you your fanboy communique yet?
check this out.(copy and paste to top.)
http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/5/23/
Paul you have yet to actually PROVE to us that you have a 360. Why don’t you actually show us hardcore proof. And no a Xbox Live Subscription doesn’t mean anything. Nor does you bitching about the 360 like a Stupid Sony Fanboy.
Confirmed :
PS3 getting Bioshock a year later than 360.
Everyone has played Bioshock, its old news.
Also, I would like SDF to do a review of Quake Wars: Enemy Territory. It looks shite on the PS3 compared to the 360. But, I assume you will big it up to be the ‘definitive’ version.
You so lame, its untrue.
It would be nice if Mass Effect came to PS3, I might even buy it if there were no graphic pop-ups anymore.
http://news.spong.com/article/15475?cb=585 BURN mother fuckers! PC and 360 is gonna get the SAME features that the “definitive” version
Great, I get more content to my 360 version thanks to PS3
@six1s
thnks for the info.
and LOL
YAY more content for the Xbox.BURN indeed six1s.Burn indeed
You’re all glad you joined what, exactly? It’s a fucking video game system, not a political party. It’s nice to see the flaming fanboys are here in force! What, mom could only buy you one so you’re here defending that choice? Get a job. I’ve got all three current-gen systems, and honestly? That RRoD problem was fixed. That’d be like Wii and XBox flamers going on about how your disc drives will overheat and kill the console (PS1). Stop referencing outdated shit.
QFT, MassiveTool. I completed Bioshock on my friend’s 360. Unfortunately after that, the disc stopped working.
“Expect a full, unbiased review of the definitive version of Bioshock when it’s released.”
More like “10/10: the PS3 version is clearly the superior version.” Nothing on this site is unbiased.
the far supierior version to the far surpierior version, somehow i knew this would happen
