Denis Dyack makes bold claim: “Too Human to be better than Haze / Lair”

Denis Dyack, vocal videogame trolling fanboy, has posted yet again on Gaming Age in a failed attempt to hype up his megaton failure of a game Too Human (reported development cost between $80-100 million and spanning 15 years in development). In his statement, he has made the bold claim that Too Human will outscore Haze and Lair.
Glad to see a decent response so far. We may have to “Wambulance” for all the mods claiming the internet is not F41R!The currency is the tag and metascore is the metric – don’t try to change the bet. All those “for” and “against” get their tags changed. To all the mods – pick your meta score. Here is some troll reference from your camp to save you time:
Haze (PS3) Avg Ratio: 57%
Lair (PS3) Avg Ratio: 56%Don’t go to high or you may show your true colors.
No more crying, no more trolling, just pick. I would suggest the tag stay for 6 months but I am pretty easy on that.
The “Against” seem in the minority so it should not take you too long to change the tags.
Our response to Denis: put up or shut up.
Given that Sony Defense Force has given both Lair and Haze a perfect 10, we’re a bit skeptical that Too Human can live up to these lofty expectations. We’ll take that bet to the bank, Denis.

Damn ffs I’ll start the friggin discussion given everyone else is too lazy to do it.
So, Too Human will be better than Haze and Lair? Damn that’s an achievement, I bet they don’t even get half a gamerscore for making a game better than those two pieces of shit. I picked my meta score SDF and it’s metacritic. Your tens aren’t in there, I’m glad.
Also, how you again managed to create the illusion that graphics matter. They don’t matter in the slightest, the wii whips ps3′s ass whilst having 20% the graphics of the ps2.5
Gee, the game I made on RPG Maker would probably get a better review than those 2 pieces of shit
lololol haze+lair ftw!!!!!!! EPICLULZ!!1!1!!!!one!!
w0000000000t! TOO HUMAN=EPIC FAIL. XBOX GAY60 IS SHIT IT WILL DIE ON U PS3 IS BEST CONSOLE EVAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have to say, if he really did say that (which from that doesn’t even hint at it) then he’s setting his expectations pretty low.
@domelawlz:
gb2/v/, don’t want the “Your message as a noob/weeaboo” edits to leak out of that shithole.
GOOD JOB DENIS!
You’re going to make a game better than 2 shitty games.
Like my comment, sony defense force is literally a joke site. It’s satire. If you’re too stupid to realize that get off the internet.
First of all, no one gives a shit what fake rating this fake ass website gave Haze and Lair. He was referring to actual credible reviewers and real reviews.
Secondly, he is setting his expectations REALLY low. He says that Too Human is going to be better than the failures of Haze and Lair? Why not make a similarly “bold” statement that you are going to make a game better than Daikatana.
This site sucks! The reviewers suck! POS3 sucks! Lair/Haze and all the other games save MGS4 (the CGI movie) SUCK! everyone knows what a troll site this is and the meaningless scores you give games.
Most people who have had hands on time with Too Human say it will be a very good game. Especially credible reviewers (this site not included).
Donkey Kong is better than Haze and Lair! Morons.
On another note, since I don’t give a crap about Too Human….
http://youtube.com/watch?v=poURxpI6fak
there’s also a Gears interview with Shoe on Gamevideos that has higher quality videos in some segments.
subtract the haze score from lairs score and u get too humans score
Trivium300, you are an dumbass, perfect for SDF!
Haze and Lair SUCK! As does SDF. Epic Fail for you all.

You are all gluttons for punishement! Go away!
MGS4 is an expensive CGI movie!
@xbox360ftw
what does that have to do with too human?
too human will be a mediocre game from a mediocre dev. i played eternal darkness on the gamecube, thought it was lame. MGS the twin snakes was good except SK did nothing but add bullet time in the cutscenes and prettier graphics. hell the only thing i have liked out of SK was the soul reaver series and even that has taken a dive. the game lacks plenty of polish. i mean the framerate is choppy, the action seems like a mediocre god of war/diablo clone. i am not gonna hold my breath for this game. i would much rather have alan wake despite i have not yet seen any gameplay vids yet. at least remedy is a known AAA developer.
oh and MGS 4 is one of the best game i have ever played bitches!
“subtract the haze score from lairs score and u get too humans score”
I still don’t think anybody knows you exist Trivium. I’d better go with the “popular” crowd. Bye.
Although its funny SDF hating on Too Human when Lair was hyped so much and failed. Oh wait, your ten.
I want to see an article that explains why SDF isn’t on Metacritic and Gamerankings, and why no other established website take them seriously. Say its like, the Wii’s fault, I’d get a laugh out of it.
I’m fairly sure that it wouldn’t take much to be better than those two pos games, but from game videos that I’ve seen, Too Human needs polish…Alot of polish. Cutscenes and the cinematic camera look nice, but the gameplay itself looks basic and downright generic. There’s also something unnatural about the way the characters move.
Well to be honest, i couldnt care less about Too Human, they havent made any fuss about it all, I dont know a thing about it.
Meh BF: Bad Company out tomorrow
For what it’s worth, I really don’t give a shit about Too Human and I’m sort of an Xbot.
This says it all…

SDF = niggers, chinks, spics, wops, deigos, japs, heaves, kikes, dikes, fags, republicans./10
@marnick – Stop being one of those kids that claims he’s so hardcore that he only cares about gameplay and not graphics. Graphics are a big part of a game.
Assassin’s creeds best moments were while scaling to the top of a beautiful building, and then getting a bird’s eye-view of the scenery.
Uncharted’s lush enviroments and great facial expressions were a HUGE part of what made the game feel so smooth and organic. Hell, for the first couple of hours I was having a blast just having Drake jump from one pillar to the next, or checking out the rain forest and getting his clothes wet.
Same goes for Ratchet & Clank Future, there were levels were I would just stare into the sky to witness the beautiful world, and those creatures flying all over the place.
MGS4 is the same way, all the boss battles, and especially the motorcycle ride in act 3, would never achieved the level of greatness on a Wii.
Shadows of the Collosus is also a great example of this.
Yes, gameplay should be number one, but don’t say graphics don’t matter at all.
And just because the Wii is selling more than the PS3 and 360, doesn’t mean it’s better. Every person I know that has one could care less about games. All they care about is playing Wii Sports or something like it.
And about Too Human, GamePlayer.com had an article about this, saying that the close-to-finished build of the game was pretty average. Calling it the 360′s “Haze”. It looks good in theory, but I think it’s going to play out like Haze did – below average. Although I can see it getting better reviews than Haze.
Love how ur all buying into this thread. Even SDF know that even ANY Atari 2600 game is miles better than Lair and Haze. So why act all gay like SDF are treating this ridiculous thread as serious news.
SDF only post shit like this because it works and get’s thier site active. I’d bet that even Paul is Modus, and this site is run by one person pretending to be a few.
Whats the point taking the articles seriously at all? As Metacritic shows, this site isnt even acknowledged as a real gaming site. Love to know what the ‘Awards’ SDF gained are?
Oh, for the record Too Human looks complete shit btw. It looks like a boring futuristic slasher. WOW WEE!!
I’m gonna say it gets a 76% rating.
@Stickemup
“Assassin’s creeds best moments were while scaling to the top of a beautiful building, and then getting a bird’s eye-view of the scenery.”
I would have preferred to play a version of Ass-assin’s Creed that would have much worse graphics if it wasn’t a repetitive snore fest. So, yeah. Graphics don’t matter and Ass Creed proves it.
@stickemup: if you were as old as me (25) and came from an era where pitfall was a gorgeous game, then you might realise that despite the exponential increase in graphics, the fun in games hasn’t increased that much over the years. I might even add that the fun has DECREASED, seeing how brilliant games like diablo2, wolfenstein 3D and the original doom haven’t been toppled despite many years of efforts.
The games I play the most at the moment are either VC games on my wii, retro dosgames on my pc, or legendary games called diablo2, counterstrike 1.6 or starcraft. I can get better graphics on the ps3 or even way better graphics on the 360 but all in all the gameplay of those old classics is priceless and beyond pixels.
If you have played and enjoyed pong, a 20 years old game, still fun today, you might realise that graphics don’t matter in the slightest.
I repeat: they don’t matter in the slightest.
I repeat: graphics don’t matter in the slightest
or else explain to me how you could ever have had fun on your ps2, such crappy graphics, it’s impossible to have fun with them innit?
I know what you mean. Mashed on PS2/Xbox is arguably the best local multiplayer game around (look it up) and it was hardly a graphical masterpiece when it came out.
Better than that previous article. At least you are TRYING to troll instead of copy-pasting other articles. But seriously, you guys are slipping. How about a review? Or something substantial? I need a good laugh.
While gameplay is #1 in my book, but graphics, sound, and music also help the game as well. Take for example Bionic Commando, how many of us still could just pick it up and play and still have a great time with it. I do agree with marnick on his gameplay post, but not on his “graphics don’t matter in the slightest” remark. While i enjoyed the hell out of BioShock it wouldn’t be the same (and as immersive) if the graphics came off of a N64.
While I do agree with stickemup about graphics being important, but gameplay will ALWAYS TRUMP over everything else (including the passage of time, because i great game will always be around).
BTW I’m going to say the Too Human will at lest get a “8.0″.
@ marnick:
Doom. End of thread.
You guys. It’s beginning.
Too human : 71% or 68%
Good graphics
Questionable storylike (ripped off, cliche)
feels like an unpolished mass effect
Bad lock-on
Gameplay may have multiple paths but is fairly linear
Though there are many attacks the game devolves into a almost hack-n-slash experience, fun at first but gets old.
That’s what I think the reviews will say.
@erik
SHUT THE FUCK UP Assassin’s Creed kicked fuckin ass ok yea it was kind of repetitve but i still fuckin love it maybe becuase i loved the prince series but still it had great graphics and fun as hell gameplay
but on a better note how bout that gears video yep im gonna wait in line for that game
@EscapeTheFate
Or it could be a very devisive game; if you like Diablo type games then you will most likely enjoy it but if you’re not, then you won’t care for it.
I like “loot whore” games so this is right up my alley and I’m hoping it won’t suck ass.
@marnick – Of course gameplay is #1. That is never in dispute on my side. You just can’t say graphics don’t matter. Our gaming “brains” grow with every generation. Of course back in ’93 or something, we didn’t notice how bad graphics looked, because we weren’t used to what we have today. By those days standards they looked great.
Also, there are different types of gamers. I consider myself a hardcore gamer, but I also prefer games with great stories and great graphics and sound to go along with gameplay. I like to get lost when I play games, and graphics have a big part in that. I would pick up a game that scored an 8 in the gameplay department but a 10 in the sound and graphics dept. over a game that scored a 9 in the gameplay dept. and a 6 for sound and graphics.
I don’t know if you understand this, but the technology in these great new games like Bioshock, Uncharted, Gears of War, and MGS4 have a lot to do with what makes them so great.
If you only care about gameplay, and graphics don’t matter, then why waste money on new systems? Stay with the NES and SNES until you’ve played every single game on it. That will keep you occupied.
@keri – We stopped caring about your comments about a month ago or so.
I’ve picked up a TON of my old favorite games on the NES, SNES, and Genesis and while some are still fun to pick up once in a great while, the majority are just not fun anymore.
The PONG game for the PSX played just like the old school PONG but I liked it better because the advanced graphics let the scenery change (one of my favorite levels was a soccer field), and they kept the same concept but included environments that added more depth to the gameplay. Something like that can’t be done with the original game.
I’m not saying all remakes are better than their original versions, but there are times when graphics improve an old game.
Just don’t be ignorant and say graphics don’t matter at all.
As I said, I play a damn lot of retro and VC games.
Our brains have hardly developed the last 5000 years let alone to have changed enough the last 10 years to make graphics important. If you pick up the game with a 8 in gameplay over the game with a 9 I can only say I’m very sad to see that the current youth can’t appreciate the most important part of gaming anymore.
Ofcourse it’s your choice to be a graphics w*hore, but at least I’ll be able to enjoy my wii 20 years into the future, whilst you won’t touch your ps3 anymore once the ps4 hits because ‘the graphics suck’
@stickemup
While great graphics are nice to have, they only serve to complement (amd sell) the game. I’m not going to debate what makes a person a “hardcore” gamer because that debate is for cunts. What I hate to point out to you as well is that you contradicted yourself “Of course gameplay is #1. That is never in dispute on my side.” then you say in the next paragraph ,”I would pick up a game that scored an 8 in the gameplay department but a 10 in the sound and graphics dept. over a game that scored a 9 in the gameplay dept. and a 6 for sound and graphics.”.
Just a really easy question for you though dude; Mortal Kombat on Genesis or SNES?
BTW i’m waiting after E3 to buy a PS3 so I guessing by the end of the summer.
@Stickemup
Because I’m not a slack jawed PS3 whore like Paul right? You need to come to grips with the fact that not everyone is awestruck by Sony’s tripe.
Furthermore, not being taken seriously on a site that gave both Haze and Lair a perfect 10 is not a huge loss.
It doesn’t begin, it continues….
“The images reportedly come from a Kmart flier for the week of July 6. According to the image, the price of the Pro 20 Gig will be reduced to $299, knocking the price down by a hefty $50. The Arcade version will drop to $249 (price point to match Nintendo’s Wii) and the Elite version to $399, making it a much better deal than the POS3!”
Looks like $ony will lose even more money now! GOOD!
@marnick – Youth? I’m not sure you know how old I am. Put it this way, when I was a youngin’ I was playing Kings Quest in green and black. I started playing games at a very young age.
It has nothing to do with being a graphics whore.
I prefer watching a cool documentary over something like Iron Man. Does that make anyone who prefers Iron Man over a documentary or a drama a special effects whore? No. It just means we enjoy different things.
And I don’t think you understood (or I didn’t explain) the thing about our “brains” growing with games. I didn’t mean they have evolved since videogames existed. What I meant is that for example, when MK came out, I remember seing an ad for it in back of a magazine, and in my mind the character models looked almost photo realistic. Now they look terrible.
And like I said, without graphics you wouldn’t have true 3-D, which is a kind of a big thing. So if you don’t care about graphics, why do you own a Wii? Stay playing your NES, SNES and Genesis. You don’t need to grow with the rest of us.
Also, when was the last time you played a current next-gen game that had horrible graphics, and still received a great score? I guess the whole industry is wrong.
ahahahahahahahahahahahaha, Lair, ahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha
I have a couple of new marketing slogans Sony could try:
1) “SONY: We didn’t invent that, either.”
2) “SONY: bankrupt ourselves, to cure cancer.”
@stickmeup
i totally understand what u mean after playin my 360 for a while i went to finally beat ff7 and it hurt my eyes for a week cause the graphics wer so bad but they did look great at the time becuase that’s what i was used to at the time
Jeez, you guys make yourselves sound stupider by the day. Of course graphics play a big part in games these days. Whats the point of releasing a console with alot of horsepower inside it only to have SNES style graphics still? Graphics will always continue to evolve and look miles better. It wont be long before 360/PS2.5 grpahics seem pretty crap.
Who hasnt played a game on the PS1/PS2/Xbox and said “wow, i dont know how they can make the graphics better than this?” Only to look back a few years later and say the same graphics are shit.
As games like Lair proved, dont matter how pretty a game is, if the game plays like crap, then it will always be crap. Gameplay should ALWAYS outweigh graphics.
Im yet to see a platform game that is better then Super Mario World on the SNES. The graphics on that game are ok, but the gameplay is awesome. Even after all this time it’s still the best platformer.
Same goes for Streetfighter 2. Graphics are ok, but there still isnt a fighting game that is actually much better than it (hopefully Streetfighter 4 will take it’s place) even after all this time.
So stop saying graphics make the game because they dont, they certainly make it better, but it’s not the vital ingrediant that makes a game go from a B to a A+
@stickemup
While great graphics are nice to have, they only serve to complement (amd sell) the game. I’m not going to debate what makes a person a “hardcore†gamer because that debate is for c#nts. What I hate to point out to you as well is that you contradicted yourself “Of course gameplay is #1. That is never in dispute on my side.†then you say in the next paragraph ,â€I would pick up a game that scored an 8 in the gameplay department but a 10 in the sound and graphics dept. over a game that scored a 9 in the gameplay dept. and a 6 for sound and graphics.â€.
Just a really easy question for you though dude; Mortal Kombat on Genesis or SNES, Which one is better?
@slimster
Well said sir. I have said before, I still play Civ2 to this day just because of how fucking great of a game it is and how well it has held up and look at how many games it has inspired as well.
“Just a really easy question for you though dude; Mortal Kombat on Genesis or SNES, Which one is better?”
I’d say the Mega Drive/Genesis version was.
Right, my comment got stuck in moderation land it seems, so here is a second go:
@Stickemup
Because I’m not a slack jawed PS3 whore like Paul right? You need to come to grips with the fact that not everyone is awestruck by Sony’s tripe.
Furthermore, not being taken seriously on a site that gave both Haze and Lair a perfect 10 is not a huge loss.
@Cold – Umm… I don’t think I was old enough to notice a difference man. I personally owned the Genesis version, but a neighbor of mine had the SNES version.
And to clear up what I said a lil’, yes gameplay should always be number one, but what I wanted to show by saying I would pick a game that received a “8″ for gameplay over one that received a “9″ is that for a gamer like me, who enjoys stories (the graphics and sound bring them to life) I am willing to sacrifice a single point of gameplay for awesome graphics and sound, because I like getting lost in games, and I like to feel like I’m in a environment that I would like to experience in real life.
Like I said before with Uncharted, for the first few hours I was having a blast just looking around and taking in the lush environments, it made me feel like I was actually in a rain forest (something I would like to visit in real life) and the graphics at that point WERE the gameplay.
Hopefully I’ve made it a lil’ clearer. You get what I’m saying Cold? I’m tired of writing essays, so my brain kinda shuts off in the summer and I might be coming off like I’m rambling.
@marnick – What is your favorite old school game? And if they kept the same engine and left everything the same, just updated it with HD graphics, do you think the game would be better?
Cold. What about you?
One of my favorite RPGs of all time is Phantasy Star 4 on the Genesis. I sure as hell know that if they improved the graphics, added great voice-overs and replaced the outdated anime box style cut-scenes with FMV sequences, it would only make the game greater.
And on a sad-note, I tried to play Bayou Billy yesterday and it was nothing like I remembered it. *sigh*
@stickemup
My favorite retro game would have to be Phantasy Star 2. I mean when Nei dies and you can’t revive her, I lost my shit. Never have I in a game got attached to one character (who happened to kick alot of ass) as that one. The difficulty of the game, the story, the characters and the graphics (which imo still holdup even today) where fucking fantastic. As “remaking” it goes, I would add some full motion cutscenes to highlite the more significant parts with good voice overs (as well in game if going that route), keep the same art style and maybe touch up the sprites so they can be displayed in HD, and add redo the sounds/soundtrack for the game.
^^^^
with Nei dieing in PS2, I wasn’t has moved in the slightest when Aeris died in FF7.
@red
really that shocked the shit out of me i sure u kind of saw it coming but that had to be one of the most shocking moments in my gaming history but that is a classic that needs to be remade
@random frag
What had me turned upside down (like i said before), is that you couldn’t revive her at all. You’re right that series deserves to be remade and not a fucking half assed online game, but a game where (in my opinion) was better than any final fantasy game or dragon quest game at the time, and I feel it could be done again.
My fav RPG was Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast. No one died, but the story was top notch along with all the side quests and adventuring to break the game up a bit.
It out on the Gamecube too if anyone got a Wii.
@red
yea hopefully they remake it cause i would just have to buy the game and my friend would give me his ps3 which is pretty sweet
Too bad that it Too Human will be better then both of those games. Poor SDF, can’t even fail properly anymore!
@Cold – Did you get to play PS4 as well? If so, what did you think about it. I loved the macro combat system, and I also prefer sci-fi settings over medievil ones.
@Slimster – I never got a real chance to play that game, but funny thing is I was going through a stack of magazines yesterday and I came up on the Official Dreamcast Magazine and saw some screens of it, and it brought back memories.
Another RPG I really enjoyed was Lunar Silver Star Story Complete on the PSX, and I’m crossing my fingers that one of the RPGs Square brings to the PSN for the PSP will be Xenogears – Japan already got it.
@stickemup
Hell ya I played PS4. It was a damn good and I enjoyed the macro system as well. If you ever want to play PS2 & 3 there’s a Sega Genesis Collection that Gamestop sells for $10, that has PS2-4 on it as well as other genesis games on it.
Lunar Silver Star Story complete was good as well and I just sold it for $100 to someone who really “needed it”. I don’t know how many times I played throught it (too many to count on two hands) so I decided to let someone else to enjoy it as much as I had.
Diablo.
nuff said
remember crapping myself when I opened a random door and a HUGE monster with a buther’s cleave came charing at me shouting Fresh Meat!
@wildfire15
That butchers cleaver was a badass weapon though untill you got something better
Diablo is indeed nuff said.
Cold, are you going to get D3? You said you like loot whore games in an earlier post, so this is right up your alley. If my computer can run it, I’m definitely getting it when it launches in 2013.
I still remember when the first unreal was out, one of the first games to utilize darkness etc. ( i know it wasnt the first, but it was one of the first)
The beginning level when you escape from the crashed ship, the whole freaking game scared the crap outta me.
@Stickemup
“One of my favorite RPGs of all time is Phantasy Star 4 on the Genesis. I sure as hell know that if they improved the graphics, added great voice-overs and replaced the outdated anime box style cut-scenes with FMV sequences, it would only make the game greater.”
Or it could make the game absolute garbage. As in the case of when George Lucas thought adding CG to the original Star Wars Trilogy was somehow a good idea.
If the game is good then it will be good then it will be good despite its graphics. But a bad game is always bad in spite of good graphics.
@nextgenmexican
How about that part in Unreal when you are on your way out of a little base and the lights start going out one by one in a hallway, then you hear a alien lurking around and it starts attacking you. That part was the shit. Also if I remember correctly that level was designed by Cliffy B.
This is by no means a bad thing I’m trying to say against you guys, quite the opposite, just a simple observation, but your conversations are so…diverse. It’s like the start as a apple tree seedling, then they grow into a grape vine, and then a orange tree that then drops coconuts.
I have a wii and xbox360 because I enjoy playing new games with new gameplay ideas. I bought the wii for it’s motion sensing, I bought the 360 for 1 game: overlord. The single best game of 2007 because of it’s innovation.
I don’t stay with the NES and SNES because I like new games, honestly I have played almost all good titles on these consoles, and most of them in the last couple of years.
Lastly: what is the biggest trump of the VC over XBLA? Simply the following: nothing is updated, no new graphics or sounds. This makes the VC games better because better graphics make the game wrong.
@marnick
While i don’t disagree with you on overlord being a good game, but its hardly innovative. Actually Overlord barrows from Pikman on the Gamecube quite a bit. Also the whole concept of being the “bad guy” in fantasy realm was again already done by Bullfrog Studios back in the mid 90′s with Dungeon Keeper (which was the shit.)
“Lastly: what is the biggest trump of the VC over XBLA? Simply the following: nothing is updated, no new graphics or sounds. This makes the VC games better because better graphics make the game wrong.”
I don’t see anything wrong with a classic game being updated as long the gameplay remains intact (and yes the graphics, music, and sound have to be reminesincent to the original). One more thing also is that the games we grew up with (me being 29) is that the NES generation is starting to get into game development and it won’t be a big shock to see long forgotten franchies to reemerge, some evidence is Bionic Commando, 1942, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3.
@InfraredChimera
Yea! that bit was in the mine on the 2nd/3rd level.
its pitch dark and you hear that door open, then the Skaarj growling, then come running. And when all you have is a crappy pistol, havent been that scared since Doom 3 on the original Xbox.
I used to have to Pause Doom 3 and leave the room for a cup of tea.
@nextgenmexican
What I always found funny in doom3, is that it takes place in the future and we still haven’t learned how to attach a flashlight to a gun.
I didn’t find Doom 3 that scary tbh, until a lift door opened and a Hell Knight lunged out at me
on overlord: it borrows heavily upon other games, but the result is a highly enjoyable game with an experience unlike any other. Had this game been marketed more it’d have had alot better reviews (it was easily better than halo 3 and bioshock) and would have run for goty. This only proves the importance of marketing.
On the VC: if you watch golden axe on the VC or golden axe on XBLA you’ll realise what I mean. Same for prince of persia on the XBLA, it’s nowhere near as fun as prince of persia on a dos emulator.
SDF’s comeback to that statement is pure gold.
“We, PS3 fanboys, gave these two crappy PS3 exclusives (mediocre shooter and horrible flight-sim that taught devs to stop trying to make the PS3 the Wii) perfect tens, and we’re worried that we don’t think we’ll rate the X360 exclusive a perfect ten as well.”
@marnick
I happen to really enjoy the XBLA version of PoP. Its still the same levels as the original, enemy placement and items are still in the same place. The difficulty remains unchanged, which I really appreciated for a update to a classic game. I have owned multible versions of PoP, from the DOS version, SNES (a really badass version of it that does the original justice while changing and adding more levels to it), genesis, gameboy and the Sands of Time trilogy. To top it off I really enjoyed all the reiterations of the PoP series and each re-release is still (imo) matches the same amount of fun as the original.
http://www.gamerchip.com/sony-sales-flatline/
HA!
Well, guys, since we seem to have a bunch of PS3 fanboys and Xbox fanboys arguing over graphics, I though I would play the part of the PC elitist
HAH DIABLO 3 MUTHAFUCKAS.
FUCK YEAH
@rider
I only wish my computer had the balls to run Diablo 3, but it doesn’t.
I don’t know, Blizzard is famous for making their games able to be run on lower end rigs. Just a few new parts and yours could probably run it reasonably well.
I mean, look at WoW. It could be run on anything built past 1995.
Back in character for my PC fanboy…
HEY SDF WHAT WAS THAT ARTICLE ABOUT GOD OF WAR III???
THING IS A POS COMPARED TO DIABLO
ITS BASICALLY A DIABLO CLONE THAT DID IT ALL WRONG
HAH
So explain to me why Rock Band 2 is going to be on 360 a few months before PS3?
sm0ke: because the xbox360 is easier to develop for… it’s that simple.
POS3 is for suxxorz!!!
Hey Sony chinks, enjoy the trophies, welcome to 2005!
@marnick
Rock Band sold more on the 360 than the PS3. Its really just economics, put out the game for the console that made you the most money first and then port it over to the others to make a quick buck later down the road, so that you got a study stream of money.
Well, Too Human is obviously going to be the latest in a long line of disastrous xbox games that are kept alive by the incredibly low standards of xbox fans.
The new Banjo game appears to be the equivalent of a child mimicking it’s parent. That parent being LittleBigPlanet and that child being mildly retarded.
Alan Wake… wake alright, cos’ that game is dead…
Ninja Gaiden 2 was such a mess it led to the collapse of Team Ninja and possibly the financial ruin of Tecmo.
Against (this laughable attempt at a console and it’s overrated, shiny metal, washed out, BSM UE3 looking, angry teen targeted library of first person shooters and underdeveloped first party trash)!
Kill All Xbots name shows that he is at most 10 years old. In my role as a hardcore hermit,
PS3 IS A POS. PC GAMES KICK THE SHIT OUT OF CONSOLE GAMES.
KILLZONE 2 HAH CRYSIS LOOKS ALMOST PHOTOREALISTIC KZ2 LOOKS LIKE SHIT IN COMPARISON
@KILL ALL XBOTS!11!11!11one!!1eleventyone11!
And what is your opinion of the two massive flops of Lair and Haze? Don’t you think that perhaps Dylan is setting is standards far too low by saying that Too Human will only be better than these games which are proven flops by the metacritic?
@kill all xbots
But your standards are set so high that they can’t even be matched, and when these games that are way overhyped by sony fanboys (aka the PS3 exclusive syndrome) fail, you call anyone who disagrees with you “biased towards sony”; That is bullshit.
Look at what happened with MGS4, some sites that reviewed it gave it a 8/10, 9/10, or a 9.5; and know what happened after that? You fuckers went crazy because “it got reviewed to low, it should’ve been a 11/10!! Obiviously this site/magazine/person has a bias towards Sony and are MS fanboys!” Face it Lair and HAZE are shit (yes I have played them both and I’m a big MGS fan) so get over yourself(s).
BTW there is nothing at all wrong about being “hyped” for a game, but don’t think for a minute when someone says “MGS4 is great but not perfect” its a slam against that company or console, its there opinion.

Before seeing this video, I was a bit skeptic about Too Human, but now I think it will probably live up to its AA hype. Any thoughts?
KILL ALL XBOTS! is a fucking mexican chink.
Wiiware ONLY niggas!

BAD NEWS NEW CRYSIS GAMES WILL NOT BE PC EXCLUSIVE
BUT WE STILL GET STARCRAFT 2. EVEN THOUGH RAYNOR LOOKS LIKE A FAGGOT NOW IT STILL WILL ROCK.
Anyone miss Paul? Where ya at mate?
@Cold – I’ve been meaning to get my hands on that Sega Classics PSP game. It would be so perfect for it.

TXB – duuurrrrrr ten outa ten…
Stickemup, maybe he finally choked on his stupidity. As far as I’m concerned, you’re the only PS3 owner on this site who makes any sense.
KILL ALL XBOTS, you’re a chink, a spic, and a nigger, who cares what YOU have to say!
who cares what you have to say, seven2s? try coming up with an original insult rather then using whatever racial slur comes to mind.
As for KILL ALL XBOTS, that video doesn’t look all that bad. Like hell is it worth 10 out of 10, though, you’re being far too generous.
And again, http://www.gametrailers.com/player/30758.html
This doesn’t look like a 10, but its definitely going to live up to its AA hype. It will be a good co-op experience. It certainly looks better than Haze. Diablo 3 is still going to kick the shit out of it though.

Anything is better than Haze, hell Street Fighter is better!
As for MGS4, well, it’s an overdone Jap CGI movie with a few game play elements thrown in. Quite boring! Thank God the snake man is dead, may we never see him again!
So how does everyone feel about MegaMan 9 having “8-bit” graphics? Imo what a great move on many reasons (if anyone cares for me to elaborate, I will).
Its a classic.
Snake isn’t dead. If you could afford a PlayStation 3 then you’d know that.
Like I know that Master Chief survives and is left in space. Because I bought the enemies console, just to understand xbots better.
Like Kenneth said, if you can’t afford it then get two jobs. Okay?
KAX
You bought an Xbox…to UNDERSTAND xbots…why, exactly? To fight an imaginary “war?” That’s dedicated, or a lie. I’m guessing the latter.
InfraredChimera,
It’s for the Wii only, which is great.
There is nothing imaginary about this war…
As Fredrick Nietzsche once said “xboxes are for retards”.
Poignant.
“Like Kenneth said, if you can’t afford it then get two jobs. Okay?”
I recall that. It was that that really cemented Sony’s big “Fuck you all” to the gaming community in my mind.
cement, grey like an fps… min(e)d like the genre, ruthlessly so…

Okay, if this war isn’t imaginary, why do you care who wins? Sony is a faceless empire that cares nothing for you. They just want your money. If Sony wins and the other game companies go out of business, Sony gets to stop trying to improve, since they know you will buy their products no matter what. Same with Microsoft and Nintendo. The only problem with this competition is the race for exclusives. In this war, the real losers are the gamers.
@erik
”
do you also recall that Jack Tretton said something like, “if you can find any PS3s in stores, I will give you $1200″. Also Penny Arcade took them up on the offer and ended up finding like 12 of them, I can’t be too sure the exact number though.
@Cold – What’s up with that Megaman 9 comment?
Yeah, talking out of his ass.
Things woulda been so much different for Sony if the PS3 wouldn’t have been so expensive. I still think it’s too expensive – although it is a great deal if you’re a gamer and you want a BluRay player.
But the reason I didn’t go with the 360, and opted to wait a few months to join in on the next-gen fun is because I did not want to take my chance with the RROD. That was also a terrible move on MS part.
I guess the only real winner is Nintendo’s pockets, because the Wii owners who actually know about gaming are kinda lacking any good games as of late.
Let me also add that I am really happy with my PS3 purchase. While it took Sony a while to get the games going, I really enjoyed the exclusives.
Uncharted, Resistance, Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Ratchet, GTP and Warhawk were all really fun.
I’m sure the 360 had it’s fair share of fun exclusives as well.
Stickemup,
Yeah it’s not like there are games that they haven’t gotten around to playing yet, oh wait…
You see what they did there?
They used their own review “scores” for Hair and Laze.
They ignored Dyack’s assertion that Too Human would defeat the meta-review scores of Hair and Laze.
See the funny?
Gah I’m getting hit by the moderation stick today. Ill copypaste what I said earlier…

i think edge is nothing more than a attention whore. they wanted to shock the gaming community by being the only “special reviewers” to give mgs4 a 8. with the ability to take multiple paths to reach your objective, whether you want to be a mindless fps junkie, or do it stealthy, mgs4 is only as good a game as you decide to play it. Edge must be starved for attention. if i remember correctly didnt they give mass effect a 8? yeah real credible.
in regards to too human, well yeah i was interested in too human like 10 years ago. there is nothing redeeming about the gameplay vids. i would much rather replay god of war 2. SK has fallen from the brilliance they once had with the soul reaver series. they are a mediocre dev.
I don’t know which is funnier – The mediocrity of Haze and Lair, or that Too Human may fail to surpass them, if early reports are to be believed.
That having been said, the thing you have to remember with Yahtzee is that, and he’s said this himself, “I know it’s not very funny to love a game”. While I, in my sideline hobby of reviewing games new and old, I generally try not to trash a game that doesn’t deserve it (albeit Rollergames is just silly and not actualy bad), only on a very rare occasion will Yahtzee actually trash a game that deserves it.
Admittedly, I played SSBB at a friend’s house for a half hour with others and I didn’t find the experience that epic, but it almost seems contradictory the games that he hates. He hates linear RPGS (especially JRPGS, TWEWY being one), yet he hates Oblivion (Which is odd seeing as he liked Morrowind).
He’s so damned inconsistant. He’ll tell you with games like No More Heroes and Psychonauts that if you’re willing to overlook a few gameplay mechanics, they’re great games, but when he analyzes a game like MGS4 or DMC4 or Condemned 2, the game is made of fail because of a few gameplay mechanics.
He “reviews for everyone”, yet in order to be good with him, a game must be a large nonlinear game with insanely off the wall nutjobs for a cast, and have a gaming mechanic he’s never seen before. Otherwise every game is a ripoff of Halo, GTA, World of Warcraft, Mario, etc.
You have to remember that he has to be controversial. He’s responsible for 80% of the Escapist’s traffic (or increasing it 400%, whichever you prefer), and people aren’t going to flock to the site in droves unless he says SSBB sucks ass, and subsequently trash the people who flocked to the site.
The only people who trash MGS4 are people who will never play it or people who regard MGS2 as The Word of God. Sure, there’s 8 hours of cutscenes. I also had 15 hours of gameplay the first time. How many games could say they have that much story?
why does moderation hate me?
When did a eight become a “terrible” score. When it comes to numerical rating scales, a “8.0″ to me is worth buying and anything below it is a definite rent. When a magazine or website gives a muched hyped game below everyone else, it says to me that they are taking the game for what it is and not what the hype is telling them. So Edge giving the game (and gamevideos review) a lower score maybe is more accurate than the rest of the pack.
LOL! http://kotaku.com/5021575/sony-pulls-ps3-240-firmware-after-reported-problems
hrm…remember that xbox-killing 2.40 release?

@PlayItBogart
In regards of Yahtzee (i’m a big fan of his), he pretty much cuts through the bullshit. MGS4, GTA4 and Halo3 are in all cases are games that garnered ALOT of hype, so those titles should be scrutinized more closely.
“He hates linear RPGS (especially JRPGS, TWEWY being one), yet he hates Oblivion (Which is odd seeing as he liked Morrowind).”
As I have gotten older, I too have “grown” out of JRPGs as well. Not saying there bad and I still enjoy playing a game of FF8 or Dragon Warrior too this day. What I think it is, is that he wants to be the character in a JRPG and not controlling a premade character. As far as Oblivion goes it’s not as good as Marrowind (it was deeper game and seemed more like a RPG than Oblivion.), but I still enjoyed Oblivion alot.
“The only people who trash MGS4 are people who will never play it or people who regard MGS2 as The Word of God.”
People should always play a game before trashing it, but if you are not a fan of a particular series then why subject yourself to something you don’t like? I personally can’t wait to get my greedy hands on MGS4 and I have been trying my hardest to avoid any spoilers up to this point.
Too bad Lair and Haze SUCKED. I mean they both have averages in the 60′s and both were some of the biggest dissapointments of the PS3. Too Human was worked on for 10 years and like most other franchises that were exclusive to the 360, Too Human is going to rock.
Wait Haze got a 10. LOL that is the funnest thing I ever heard. Haze has to be one of the suckest games I have ever seen and played in my life. Lair was ok. But not worthy of a 10.
Odds are too Human won’t be a 10 either. But it will probably be a 8 or 9
Hmmm….

I just came here to say: Shame on you InfraredChimera! Defending an Ass like Yahtzee like that!
Yahtzee is the biggest Asshole Dick I have ever known in my life, and I been to “Ain’t It Cool News”.
He’s a big baby, who can’t even take a bit of criticism. He made a whole video attacking the fans who didn’t like that one review. Even George Lucas is a bigger man then he is. Can you imagine if Lucas was anything like Yahtzee? After Phantom Menace, he would have made Ep 2 & 3 all about how much he thinks the fans “suck” and we would never hear the end of it.
I lost all respect the day I saw that video. I mean, he has all these fans who love him (even though he tells them to go “fuck themselves”) and defend him to the death–and yet, he can’t even take one or two bad replies without getting revenge.
What. A. Big. Cry. Baby.
being better then too shitty games isin’t too hard i wouldn’t call his claims outrageous
