So let me get this straight. Those screens of Heavy Rain must be the real in-game graphics, right? I mean, theres no way that a game like heavy rain which was announced not to long ago already has won SDF’s “this game must be perfect cause of 3 touched-up CGI pictures” award. And the gameplay MUST be fantastic, unparallel to any other game out there.
If you look long enough at the first picture, its really nothing special. They just touched it up a little.
And yet again, the great SDF asscrab spits out another story about a game that looks like it’s coated in petroleum jelly, and attempts to spin it so it sounds good.

LOL, SDF is probably right for once. Heavy Rain or what ever it’s called will probably not be possible on the 360 (i doubt it though). What SDF also fails to mention mind u, is that by the time this games comes out (more than likely 2011) the new Xbox will be well away and make ALL PS3 games look like PS1 games. Thus completely defeating the point of having pretty graphics (which are more than likely just CGI).
I seriously doubt this game’ll be a system seller. The Adventure genre hasn’t been very commercially successful in years, save for the DS games, and perhaps the Sam & Max episodes.

Yeah, I’m getting Too Human as well. I dl’ed the Braid demo and was fairly impressed with the gameplay. The graphics and music blew me away, and I was going to DL it right then, but decided to wait until the price drops.
The G4 awards were based on a user vote…MGS4 won best graphics, while Crysis came in last. IMO Crysis should have won with MGS4 in second.

Braid is a platformer similar to Mario (close enough that it has many subtle references to it) that uses time. You can rewind time, make a doppelganger who carries out your previous actions, slow down time in a specific area, and so on. It is mostly a puzzle game like portal, but 2d with a watercolor artstyle and great music.

Braid looks like its only available for XBLA right now with a PC version “coming soon”. I wouldn’t rule the Mac out, someone will probably port it over somehow or someway.
tecnically speaking,PS3 is better with popins,AI and object collision as the Cell got a good branching speed (if compared to a gpu) and 360 is better at shaders, anti aliasing and “object moving” part of the physics
but probably its like.. 50% of diference tops,and thats when they actually be able to use the full power of the machines instead of just research a bit and apply X-box 1 + few new effects
the next gen probably only starts with doom IV, and thats a multiplataform game that will probably run very equal on PS3/360,so its not the limit i’m speaking above also

I just looked it up on wikipedia, it actually sounds fun…time for me to start playing games on the PC again lol. I mean, the only thing I have played on a PC is Halo CE, A MMO called dofus, Maplestory, and some other FPS games.

For $30 you can get the “Diablo 2 Battlechest”. It includes the main game, expansion, and I think either the first game or a strategy guide. Since you dig Too Human, its definitly the way to go. Its pretty amazing that the game has held up since it’s 8 years old and it doesn’t have very high system requirements at all, so running the game shouldn’t be a problem for you at all.
I downloaded the demo for Diablo 2. Didn’t enjoy it. But my friends have told me that the fact that the Demo doesn’t give you access to ‘whirlwind’ might be a factor in my lack of enjoyment.

i personally thing its a ton of fun….i bought it because i saw the diablo 3 gameplay and i love it, but i’ve never played online so i dunno what the online players are like, though im sure as with every online service theres its fair share of hanses, pauls, and triviums
if you’re considering buying it, go ahead, its worth it, especially since you can get both d2 and its expansion for $40 or less these days
also, for anyone who has d2/LOD and wants to play online, tell me and help me figure out how to do it lol since ive never done it before

Well, the original Half-Life was very graphically advnaced when it came out.
But big-time on the PS2 games. Funny. In the R&C review, they said that they ‘came close’ to Toy Story graphics on the PS2. If the PS2 came close to Toy Story graphics, then the Gamecube and XBox made Toy Story look like Rocky and Bullwinkle.
I’ve noticed lately that casual gamers who own 360s (just for Halo and Gears) have the perception that the PS3′s graphics are far more advanced than the 360s. I’ve ran into about 4-5 of them in the past 2 months. It’s funny.

I have been playing MGS4 and R1, but have checked out a few demoes though. The demo for Uncharted was a load of fun and maybe my next purchase after Too Human or Force Unleashed. Echochrome was everything I thought it would be (awesome simplistic graphics, with great gameplay), Eden while weird, but a terrific game to boot. I have yet to try MotorStorm, Tools of Destruction, or warhawk ( its awesome that the original is on PSN).

i wouldnt say theyre far more advanced….but the ps3 is the strongest graphics system of this generation, as compared to the ps2 which was the weakest (graphically)….i almost bought a ps3 when it came out, saved up money, so i could get it with resistance, but then i played it and it was kinda eh (in my opinion)….i hope that kz 2 and resistance 2 and lbp have great potential and a good reason for me to use the money i saved up 2 years ago, and i think the ps3 has in general great potential as developers learn to use the complicated system a bit better….
for now tho, im going to play too human (when it comes out) and sc 4 on 360 or diablo 2 and LOD on my mac

Yes, color is a good thing! I think that is also a contributing factor to Wii titles doing well. They are poppy colors in a world of muted brown. It begins!
Yeah…I actually like the art style in Diablo 3. I saw all those fan altered screenshots of what they thought it should look like, and I just couldn’t see why. I also read an interview with one of the guys on the dev team who demonstrated how a lot of the fan pics were impossible to do in an actual game, and how all of them screwed with the gameplay, and I agreed with him. If the game was that dark, it would be impossible to determine who is a player and who is a monster, and it would be really hard to see all the enemies.
BTW, Diablo 3>ANYTHING on consoles.

i saw that interview too, off a link from pennyarcade….he made a lot of good points, and if you read the comments afterwards (i dunno if you did) you’d see some fucking real fanboys, not like fake hans or pauls but actual fantards….the altered screens looked decent, but the fact is they were just that: screens, and if they were actually running in real time rather than just stills, they’d be horrible looking….i’ve been a console guy for a loong time, but if diablo 3 manages to run well on my mac, i doubt therell b anything on consoles thatll get far more of my attention (and time)

Blizz is an inredibly well respected dev, and created the most successful game in history, as well as one of the best RTS ever. Diablo 3, from the gameplay video, looks like it will be incredibly deep and addictive. D2 still captivates a LOT of people, and that game is old as hell. Think what D3 will do.

Seriously, DIII looks not bad, but again, the graphics engine looks dated (guess they’re trying to pull old “it will run on everyone’s PC!” WoW trick again…), the gameplay simply standart and the design is… Well, standart. Nothing we haven’t seen before folks, and I doubt there’ll be major gameplay innovations. Whatever you think, for me most Blizzard games, with the exclusion of Warcraft RTSes, will always be well-crafted, but, essentially, soulles.

@goronian: I found the starcraft and diablo games extremely enjoyable. Of all blizzard games I mostly dislike warcraft3. It’s an extremely shallow game. The focus on micro is so large that macro, balance and unit choices pale in comparison. The heroes just fuck up the game in such a way that my friend can own me with a single archmage. He has ubermicro, I hardly if ever play the game, but then again, he shouldn’t win against my undead army with dark knight.
I can’t understand how anyone would prefer warcraft over starcraft. Starcraft is better by default. I also like the cnc games better than warcraft 3 (even generals)
Diablo 3 will be a gamble. I hope they incorporated mouse movements and some other keyboard controlls. My fingers aren’t that good for prolonged clickfests anymore. Besides this kind of gameplay is extremely outdated and boring.

About DIII… Again. I will say this out loud – it will be just as Titan QUest mixed with Loki, but a bit more polished. But people will still buy it like it’s a holyu message from God himself, and review sites will give it out perfect tens left and right. Reason? It’s freakin’ Diablo III and it’s made by Blizzard. Uh…it’s mostly just reflexes with a bit of trial and error. Once you get the hang of swinging though, only a few areas will give you trouble.

it appears solving the RROD problem is both a blessing and a curse, the loyal user base no longer need to buy multiple units whilst they wait for repair. and due to uncertainty over the global economic outlook (observable to xbox fans due to an increase in the price of junk food and microsoft obfuscation point cards), the faithful are more discerning about what they buy. would shadowrun really be a commercial success in this climate?
once the recent supply constraints in Japan have been resolved then the PS3 will be back to beating mircosoft in every major territory.
i’d expect microsoft to roll out xbox 3 (perhaps another mid-gen console?) by years end. it’ll only need a limited phase of product testing and rare can undoubtable produce at least two AAA titles for the launch).

The only two games I have for the POS3 worth playing is Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted (which I believe is the best game the POS3 has to date). I have MGS4, but it’s like watching a movie and getting ti play every now and then. I don’t want a movie, I want a game!

the PC version of Far Cry is alot better than the console versions by far. Though I quite enjoyed the xbox and 360 versions, they where no PC FarCry by any stretch.
Also I never thought FPS’s could get to Daikatana bad, but I was proven wrong with Haze, its just as bad.
Yeah, console versions of Far Cry were really toned down due to hardware limitations. Far Cry 2 graphics on consoles will be set on the equivalent of medium graphics for PCs, also due to hardware limitations(lolcell). It’s gonna be fucking amazing though.

Far Cry was innovative simply because of its huge open world gameplay, similar to Crysis. It really left the choices up to the player, instead of telling you what to do. You could approach your objective from any angle, use the environment to your advantage, stealth in, run in guns blazing, snipe everyone, or use a hit and run. Or you could drive a vehicle in and run everyone over. Crysis took that further with its suit powers and physics, but overall Far Cry was very innovative. I’m looking forward to Far Cry 2, although PC version for me: Map editor looks amazing,and I like to run it at Very High graphics, instead of medium like consoles get.

I don’t just play games…. I believe in them. I’m one of the people who thinks games can be art. I’m one of the people who thinks that games can become better then the best movies out there.
I love hearing things like ‘Wii helps physical therapy patients’ or ‘PS3 fines a cure for cancer’. But what I don’t like to hear is things like ‘Xbox has the best games,’ because it makes gamers look like idiots for just wanting gameplay, gameplay, gameplay. Is this all you want? Forever and ever?

You got it the other way around. Gameplay needs to evolve, graphics will always be there.
Graphics are directly related to the timeframe, in effect: based on the law of moore. So basically everytime a new console launches it just gets the graphics on par with the current standards. Standards as in: nothing special to see here.
Where new games really SHINE is in gameplay. An innovative game will look good by default because it’s on a contemporary console. A good looking game won’t have good gameplay unless the devs go out of their way to create fresh ideas.
And by games over movies: 3 hour movies lack the depth and immersion games with 30 hours of gameplay can give. I like an elaborate story with sideplots. It’s why I like series better than movies.

Argue as much as u like about 1080p or what ever resolution in games, because if you dont own a HD TV then it all means absolute shit. I dont own a HDTV, but i do own a Sony Wega 100hz flatscreen TV, it’s not HD but the pic looks just as good as a HD screen.
But it all still boils down to that the 360 is STILL a better console than the PS3. The PS3 is starting to pick up steam, but it’s a bit on the late side as the rest of this gens consoles are starting to come to the end of thier lifespan. Once the new Xbox (which will more than likely be out next christmas) is out and about, no one will give a crap about the PS3, and will be crying out for a PS4.
I found out something really sad about MGS4. It takes 23 MINUTES from hitting the “start” button to face your first enemy.

Firstly, yes graphics don’t matter at all. But new technology exists to support more than just graphics. The Wii for example. That console is the most innovative system currently on the market with the greatest amount of potential. Unfortunately it is also in the hands of a company whose business men are flaming retards who have obviously hired a sniper or something to keep 3rd party developers from tapping into this vast potential. Which is why I’m very close just to trading in my Wii. (not for a PS3 though, yeck. Someone would have to pay me to get a PS3)

I’ve grown out of “Console X and all it’s games SUCK!”. I did. I just have my own gaming preferences. I prefer games, that are fun to play, that are engaging and can drag you in. Good story? I LOVE good stories in games. But if a game is really good, I can close the eyes on the story, case in point – most fighting games. And as for graphics… Consider me an idiot, but I prefer the design and music/sound to the high-tech Up The Arse.
I actually really doubt that LBP will be as big of a system seller as, say, Gears 2. It doesn’t have the press or the appeal to non-hardcore 18+ gamers. And because it’s more of a level editor than a traditional game, it won’t do as well with most people. They just like mainstream titles.

Tried to watch HR trailer with an open mind… Um… Sorry, every non-troll PS3 fans, but it looks not that good.. Awkward camera angles, QTE (which were still the best in the Shenmue andshutupIlikedDreamcast), pretty bad animation, not that “ooh, pretty!” graphics (you can’t really tell a difference in motion) and the Pretentiousness of an average Art-House movie… Again, I’m sorry.

Whats really funny is reading a forum(s) about BC:Rearmed. I have actually read a post that someone made about how the game sucks because there is no jump button and how difficult the game is. Yeah, I’m am not being facetious here. Go watch a Pixar movie. Hell if that is too kiddy for you, I dunno. There is that Clone Wars thing coming out. Final Fantasy: Spirits Within is on DVD. I’m sure there is some other noninteractive computer generated media out there for you to enjoy. But yeah, I can see how you can like a game like MGS4 which doesn’t let you do anything except sit on your thumb for a half hour after putting the disc in.

So essentially for you graphics is the opiate to help you numb yourself to what you don’t like: gameplay.
But let me give a further example of what I mentioned about properly applied technology (IE: not graphics). Right so when Half-Life 2 was introduced. The upgraded texture mapping, the then ground breaking facial animation, lighting, etc etc all of that bullshit is effectively garbage and a waste of time. BUT luckily HL2 had a saving grace, its physics engine and its effects on gameplay is just completely marvelous. I would have still shelled out $60 for HL2 even if it had HL1s graphics but had the new physics engine in tact.
But hey, heres hoping that Hideo drops his facade as being a game designer and admits he is a director. Maybe he can become chums with Uwe Boll.

Having just beat MGS4 (and really did enjoy how the solid snake story wrapped up) there is a bit of over exaggertation from the people who think its “a movie and not a game” mindset. Its not like you walk or sneak around for a minute or two and come to another cutscene at all.
Yes some of the cutscenes could and should have been edited down (I can think of one in particular in chapter 3), but for shits sake its a Metal Gear game, what in the hell do you expect?
I knew what to expect when popping in the disc in the drive, if I didn’t then I would be upset.

In pacifism for me, I just concentrate on staying alive more than increasing my multiplyer. Your multiplyer won’t go up as fast, but in my runs I’ve been getting a score at least 35 million on each run. Also when that multiplyer gets above a thousand, then your score really starts shooting up.

I asked one of my personal friends this question after a week we had NG2 and I’m going to ask you it as well; Do you think NG2 is fun and are you playing it because its fun, or you feel obligated to play it since you bought it?
I got rid of it, because while in the middle of the game I stopped and thought to myself, “I’m not having fun at all with this game, but I’m obligated to finish it since I bought it, fuck it.” While I did enjoy the difficulty of the game, its just not any fun. Personally NGB was the better game imo.
I concentrate on clearing as many gateways as I can in pacifism, i always seem to die when they clog the screen. I can’t get past like 8 million though.

I’m still not with Stickemup on the graphics vs gameplay thing. As I said: graphics are directly related to the current generation so it’s really no big deal. I take it for granted.
When I bought my wii I knew full well what it could and could not do graphicswise. So it doesn’t matter in the slightest.
When I bought the 360 I knew I was getting the strongest console this generation so I expected the best graphics. The 360 hasn’t disappointed me but it didn’t awe me either. The gameplay of certain games is another story.
I don’t own NG2 yet, to tell the truth, I’ll only be owning 360 the next week. But I enjoyed the first troughoutly and I think so will happen with the next. I just love frustratingly hard hack’n'slashers. DMC3 on the hardest level… My fingers still hurt in the rain.
Why are all the ports for the PS3 so late? First Bioshock and now Monster Madness? Shit, this game was supposed to be multiplatform from the beggining!

I was just playing Mass Effect (love the game) and I realised that it’s just the story, background, skillsystem, classes, basically the gameplay, which defines it as a very good game. These are the things that create immersion. The graphics aren’t top notch and I don’t care. It’s still the best rpg I’ve played in a long while.

I don’t remember the arguments going anything like that, as I still do think that the Wii is the best console with the most potential. But unfortunately its the best console but with no games to back it up. Its like the tech/development department casted pearls before the brain addled swine that are Nintendo’s businessmen.
And you still think that Sony is the best system out there, so regardless of what you think we still disagree.
But now that I’m getting rid of my Wii I just may get a PS3. I’ve lived with a system which I have not turned on in months (the Wii), so if I’m going to have a suckey system (IE the PS3) it may as well be one not owned by morons that chase off all the good companies.
I wouldn’t sell my wii even though I hardly play it solo anymore lately. It’s still fun for parties, and the last 2 months the wii has seen plenty of action. It even got me a new girlfriend.
But for real gaming fun, immersion and story, I started to prefer the 360 ever since last fall. Waiting for a new zelda.
This again has nothing to do with the graphics. If overlord, mass effect and rainbow6 had been wii games, with wii graphics, I’d never have bought a 360.
So, tommorow I’ll be getting myself a 360 Pro… If I can find one, that is.

I admit that rainbow6 (the first) is not the best shooter, but I really like team and coverbased gameplay. I completed the single player and enjoyed it. I can understand however that it doesn’t cater to everyone

I don’t think when it comes to good games on Wii, the companies behind them don’t do enough to promote them (ie. Boom Blox by EA or Zak and Wiki by Capcom).
While we both know of the massive amounts of pure gaming shit for that console, I’m holding out for at least another year on it untill maybe the 3rd party devs’ start churning out the good shit instead of shit.
So (while its your choice) to either get rid of the Wii or not, I would just hang onto it (since you would get ripped off on trade-in, and I hate to see that happen to you or anyone), eventually there will be something you might want to play and won’t be able to play it.

I enjoyed that the strategy behind planning out the mission, setting waypoints, load out, and specific team members was a blast. Now its more FPS than tactical FPS and it seriously feels kinda lacking now.

Talking about overlord though: I finished that in less than 2 weeks. It’s still the best game I legally own.
There’s a certain thing I don’t understand. Saying the ps3 is stronger than the 360 is perfectly acceptable. Even xbox fans don’t take offense in that. The reverse is not true. Saying the 360 has better specs than the ps3 is something people can’t manage.
The truth however is that cpu, gpu and memory are better suited for games on the 360. Even the dvd drive is better than blu-ray in a sense because it has faster dataspeeds. However ps3 fans take personal offense in this.
Maybe the truth just hurts. Maybe it’s doublethink

Okay, so I’ve read a summary of HR’s demo at Leipzieg and it sounds… Uninteresting. It’s basically a slightly non-linear interactive movie, with very little player actually involved, despite what player might think. Best dexcribed as “set of interchangable rails”. Oh, and QTE.
Christ, I’m not against this game, but it’s nothing revolutinary. Oh, and I love how they push the use of the Six, whoops, Dualshock 3′s motion-tracking as the gameplay elements, when they’re less needed. Using it to select dialogue choices? Jesus CHRIST…

Because honestly I don’t feel that there is any current console that is on par with say the PS2 or SNES. The 360 is my favorite system this cycle, but that really isn’t saying much. Previously with the PS2 all my gaming desires could be fulfilled without the need for a secondary system. But this cycle even the best systems are sort of meh. So I had hoped that the Wii could cobble in the holes from the 360. But thanks to the incompetence on the business end of Nintendo my disdain for the Wii is growing to the level of the PS3.
But what really set me off is a story in Game Informer, where apparently Nintendo hasn’t shared the information about its new more accurate Wiimote with any 3rd party developers. Most the 3rd party developers only learned about it when the consumers did. And apparently Lucas Arts who made a version of The Force Unleashed for that system didn’t know anything about it either. And they are pretty unhappy.

SW was okay….Kinda seemed like they skipped core gameplay in favor of a gimmick. Throwing people around was fun, but it seems like it would get old.
If this is anything like Indigo Prophesy it will be decent for the first part.. then the story will get ridiculously stupid and completely fall apart.. not that the story wasn’t stupid in the first half.. just not quite as bad.

The Last Guy, PixelJunk Eden (which is pretty “meh” imo, oh god I’m a heretic now for saying meh to it), SuperStardust HD, echochrome, PAIN and Pixeljunk Monsters. All those are pretty good games in all fairness.
Last Guy I think deserved a lower score, PixelJunk Eden would have been better without the damn timer, SSHD is good, haven’t played echochrome or PAIN, and PJMonsters I can play on Warcraft 3 in any TD map.

Why PS3 fanboys exist:
They believe that just because there system is more tech savy, its the better system and doesn’t need games. They are perfectly happy with waiting for games, loosing titles, and having titles pushed back. Because in the end, all a PS3 fanboy is, is a pretend gamer. Because face it, thinking about future titles is not the same as playing them.
Why 360 fanboys exist:
You have a legion of brain dead, puss filled imature hell spawn, that belive since they can WTF PWN, OWN FACE! in Halo/Call of Duty/Gears, that they are a force to be reconed with, and OWN the gaming comunity. They love to harp about there 1billion exclusives, and anytime PS3 looses one, they rejoice by WTF PWNing some more people.

Try to be the intellectuals that we are, by relising the MACHINE, is not the one to be hated. And normally due to one bias or another hate either Microsoft or Sony. Yet many of us are found owning both systems, because face it, its a Win Win situation, and you just Won the console war. And along with that, its why PS3 fanboys adopted the RROD, and use it so effortlessly. As soon as Xbox fanboys labels the PS3 as the console without games, which at times, and even still is somewhat true… PS3 fans looked for something to make fun of the Xbox with. And the best they came up with is RROD. They might as well be yelling “O yea, well your hair looks stupid!” Because imo RROD is no reason not to get an xbox where lack of games is easily a big issue. When my xbox red-ringed i just sent it in and got a new one. Was it annoying, a little, all that big of a deal? not at all. And considering Microsoft will replace any console that red rings, even ones out of warranty.

id be considered a 360 guy…..but im not a fanboy. Ill admit that the RROD was a stupid thing for Microsoft to let in the consoles…but they made up for it. Yes, as fiffer said, its annoying, but i lose maybe 4-6 weeks of 360 MOST and i get a free one or i can get another one…its annoying, but its better to have games to play rather than have a system that gathers dust…also, newer 360′s are much better about the RROD, i bought a halo version about january or february of last year and its given me the bad RROD (3 red lights) 4 or 5 times….and i can just turn it off and on again and it works fine. Microsoft learned from its mistakes. Now sony needs to find out what went so right with the PS2 that theyre not doing with the PS3

InFamous looks like a great Prototype rip-off, which might come BEFORE Prototype. Which is kinda ironic. Although I would still bet my rouble on it being a great game.
Yesterday I had the choice between going to a party and gaming. I went to the party. Apparently an exotic dancer was present. Out of the whole crowd she takes the best looking guy who happens to be me. She places me on a chair and starts doing a damn hot lapdance in front of the whole crowd. She had perfect enhanced hooters and legs as long as the eiffel tower.
Afterwards I used the social value to approach a couple of nice girls and kissclose two of them. I agree, it’s nothing like being fellated by kaz hirai, but it’s as good as it gets

i knew someone who played with august burns red, they said it was pretty sick, but ya ill be sure to check out those bands….if you like death metal, two albums you gotta get (youll most likely have to download them or buy them online) are death’s “scream bloody gore” and possessed’s “seven churches”, those are must have death metal albums…i think testament is a decent band, exodus has some new stuff out in stores that pretty hardcore too, pantera is a must for metal

It’s kinda ironic, but actually it’s videogames, internet and movies with subtitles. I got the bases in school and even got a private tutor once (70 years old, perfect English, family friend… Said I was hopeless.) but the media really shaped and sculped it. I tend to watch, play and read in English nowdays, since Russians are atrocious with translations. I even find myself THINKING in English on a usual basis.
I remember reading Discworld books for the first time in English and thinking “man, why can’t OUR guys get it right?”. Pretty sad, if you ask me.

A lot of people thought Raiden was annoying in MGS4, I think he is a total badass. The stuff he does is amazing.
It’s SO hard to tell the length of a MGS4 cut-scene, I honestly cannot tell you what the length of the longest scene was. That’s why the rumors of the 90-minute cut-scenes came up.

I’m belgian and my mother tongue is dutch. I managed to make a whole assignment for french in english without realising it. Almost all my inner monologue is english nowadays and when talking with my fellow gamer friends we talk our own language of half dutch half english. It’s quite funny

I can overlook spelling mistakes. I make them myself frequently. But what I cannot stand is usages such as “U” instead of “you”. It drives me bug nuts. And it is even more embarrassing when someone such as Goronian comes along who has english as a second language and shows up a supposedly native speaker such as yourself.

Even though we disagree on the gaming side of things at times, I do agree with you on Palin.
I find it hard to believe that she considers herself a “christian conservative” and her 17 year old is pregnant with a child out of wedlock. No offence to PS3, since we all agree now that all three are worth buying (with Wii under heavy debate, but still), but why are you always reccomending the same 5-6 games? Isn’t that a little… Small?

Remember a few weeks/months back when SDF wanked over the fact that some journalist’s son traded his 360 for a PS3, and SDF declared that the PS3 was the winner and made a thred over it. Well guess what, the same son has no regretted trading his 360 for a PS3 and now wants his 360 back. PWNED!!

No I’m not joking. You have no idea how much Nintendo’s E3 showing, or lack thereof, dissapointed me. Then add the fact that they didn’t even let Lucas Arts in on the knowledge they were making the Motion Plus controller add on.
As far as a console goes I still think that the Wii has boatloads more potential than the PS3. But unfortunately this is coupled with the fact that Nintendo is apparently beating down any 3rd party developers with a stick who so much as try to come near their console.
But fret not. This just means my PS3 bashing will now take on a more experienced view point. Such as pointing out when Hans goes on about the PS3′s supposed superiority over the 360 because it comes with HDMI. WRONG. Yes it has an HDMI port, like the 360 does. But it doesn’t come with a HDMI cable. In fact it doesn’t come with the other HD input cables whose name fails me at the moment. What does it come with? Standard definition AV input cables. Weak!

Honestly the graphics on the PS3 are really nothing special. The only thing on there that I have seen that has blown my mind was the egges in MSG4. Yes eggs sounds stupid but they do look really realistic my friensd and i were arguing over if it was real or not.

I happen to really enjoy Uncharted, and I also bought it.
R1 is a pretty run of the mill FPS, but its a very decent game and with a quite a bit of potential in the story department (which could if done right, can be better than halo’s story).
@Goronian – I’m recommending the best older games for the PS3. Since he hasn’t played any of them. Those are my top 3 favorite games on the PS3.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Uber-Fail section in MGS4. Remember how SDF boasts the uberness of Blu-Ray and not having to switch DVDs midgame? Well that it true, but they have something even worse! Mid-game installation times! It would probably take you half a minute at most to change a disc. But instead they force you to sit through a 3 minute installation at the point in time when you otherwise would have switched a disc!
HAHAHAHAHA! FAIL!.

Epic fail on behalf of MGS4. Right so you know how the mindless Sony fan league tried using MGS4 as a pillar of Blu-Ray’s superiority due to not having to change a disc between sections of the game? That is true. But the system they do have is even worse! As where I can change a disc in 30 seconds or so. In MGS4 after an act ends the game installs the new section onto the hard drive! So rather than a 30 second disc swap you have a 3 minute install. Are Sony players that unwilling to get off their butts to save themselves two and a half minutes?

The worst/funniest part of the game to me is telling me how to play. Take a break every hour for 15 minutes. FUCK YOU MSG4 for telling me what to do. But what do you think of the game though? I personally think it is alot of fun though the first part of Act 3 is really lame.

So while you do have a valid point, I would say that installs also help as well (which I can’t wait for the full HDD installs on the 360). Basically you gotta take the goods with the bads.

I know Act 3 was thrown in there to show the sneaking side of MGS, but I hated it – the first part that is. I sadly went through the game guns blazin’, I completely forgot about being stealthy.
I agree with erik tho, I hated the damn installing between Acts, the first time around it was okay, but it’s ridiculous if you wanna go back to a certain part of the game and replay it, cause you have to wait for the damn thing to install.
