My point remains. When I say I hate something, I hate something. I’m not assuming anything.

It wasn’t totally crazy to assume you wouldn’t like Killzone 2 since the first one sucked balls not only for you, but for the general population. But to totally hate on every major release.

When it comes to what I like and what I don’t like I don’t assume anything. I’m pretty familiar with my likes and dislikes you see. I dare say that I know my likes and dislikes more so than other people know my likes and dislikes.

I knew that going into it that I did not like Killzone 2. I did not let any experience from actually playing the game to taint or factor in in any way my already decided opinion.

That’s not true. Had I adopted this attitude sooner I might not have tortured myself by playing Uncharted.

I’ve learned not to trust news aggregator websites. Even those gave tripe such as Uncharted and Killzone 2 high scores.

“Maybe if something comes along that somehow manages to catch my interest. But that is a very big longshot, so I’m not holding my breath.”

I’m not holding my breath either. Whenever a game worthy of playing comes out, you want to know nothing about it and pretend it doesn’t exist. You even did that to God of War 3, a game series i’m sure you loved on the PS2. So the fantasy world in your mind can continue to live on where the PS3 has absolutely no good games at all, while the rest of the world will play things you’re missing out on. You just don’t WANT the PS3 to have any good games. That what it really is. And when one comes along, you assume you’ll hate it or don’t even acknowledge it. You have nothing to gain from that attitude.

That’s what is nice about news aggregator websites. It’s not just one person’s review. For a big game, it could be 100+ professional reviews. Not all of them are going to have sympathy for Sony and give them some pity scores. Maybe GamePro, but not reputable sites.

This argument just reminds me of some older people I know that refuse to buy Japanese cars because “the japs bombed Pearl Harbor”. The excuse is outdated, they are missing out on quality cars, and are coming off as just being ignorant old hateful bastards. Everyone else is happy driving around their Camry’s and Corollas (which are both made in the US now, but they don’t want to know nothin’ about nothin’), but those old bastards just can’t give up the hate they (rightfully) started 60+ years ago and get with the friggin’ program that is 2009.

No I rented Uncharted 1. I own MGS4, Little Big Planet, Resistance, InFamous, Bad Company, and Silent Hill Homecoming.

“Just go to some review aggregator website. Skip all the garbage, sort by highest score and look at the handful that are in the 9’s and the upper 8’s. Then discard the sports games ones (unless you are into that), and those are the games to target.”

No. I’ve learned not to trust scores when it comes to PS3 games. I don’t know if the reviewers are just taking pity on Sony or what and throwing them a few high scores. But it was scores that lead me to tripe such as Uncharted and Killzone 2.

You already made the investment. That’s the big hurdle. Buying a system that may or may not have games for it. But now that it DOES have good games, what is the point of ignoring them? You are the only one losing here. You already have the system, play the damn games.
