If you are going to post stuff like this you are going to need a source. Also, you are pretty apt to putting up glitch gifs of Forza 3. So when can we expect glitch gifs of Grant Turismo 5? If it is anything like GT5: Prolouge, there will be MANY:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gran+turismo+5+glitches&search_type=&aq=f
Where is your racing sim god now?
HOLY FUCKING SHIT AN UPDATE!!!
I will be buying this, but I am not exactly counting down the days until it’s release. Forza is pretty awesome and the advantage it has over GT5 is it has already been fucking released.
GT5 is really lining itself up to be the biggest disappointment of 2010. All the hype about cars and tracks (btw track list sucks) doesn’t change the fact that the cars handle like shit. Its pretty to look at, just don’t bother trying to drive it. And I hate license tests. Drop that crap already.
@Dark Knight 2K
“And I hate license tests. Drop that crap already.”
That was my biggest gripe with all the past GT games. And some of those races were fucking HARD, when all the races in that class following the license race are much easier. I love what Forza does it. If you can afford it, you can buy it. Just like real life.
Forza series= is about the cars.
Gran Turismo= is about the racing.
That’s the way I have always looked at it and either way they are BOTH have a place on someones shelf.
destoying fm3
i really laugh at people that think that forza 3 is in the same league as gran turismo 5. Just wait until march gets here and people start to import gran turismo 5. its going to fucking blow forza 3 out of the water just like uncharted 2 blew every game out of the water in 2009.
and that cover is amazing.
@ Erik
You going to find the same amount of glitches in forza 3 if you google forza 3 glitches.
Anyone wants to make a bet with me with which game between forza 3 and GT5 gains a higher metacritic score??
@mich99
When did I say that you wouldn’t? But the fact remains that SDF posts images and gifs of such glitches along with insipid mockeries of these glitches (like the rolling dog) and pretends that they are the whole of the experience. So would it not be only fair to have some retarded ass GT5 dog as well?
Also, I do give tendonut and InfaredChimera grief for being Sony fanboy nob gobblers (And I don’t have any remorse over the fact because they are) but you are in a nob gobbling PS3 fanboy league of your own aren’t you? I mean wow, you say that Forza isn’t in Gran Turismo’s league, then you dare try to bring up Metacritic scores in another post? Really? Between the metacritic scores and people such as tendonut and InfaredChimera saying it’s a good game well, that is as bad as something that I would do.
@mich99
Yes its fair to put Forza and Gran Turismo in the same category, to think otherwise is frankly being one sided and misinformed.
@erik – Every few months or so I like to drop by to see what’s going on with this sh*t hole, and it makes me sad that there is actually a human being out there who will go to such lengths to bash a fuckin’ gaming system for years on end.
GIVE IT UP. Go enjoy your life, video games weren’t meant to bring you pain, which is what it seems like you’re in whenever someone says something about a game that you disagree with.
So sad. See you in a few months s*it brains.
@Stickemup
The feeling is mutual. Knowing that there is a person out there like you in the world makes me ill as well. It still amuses the fuck out of me that you tried to be friendly with me when I bought my Failstation 3. You were friendly to me, let that eat away at you skinwaste.
Also: Little Big Planet sucks.
A superb game! Sony has once again delivered us cutting edge gaming and technology! Congratulations Sony you have done it yet again!
@mich99
“Anyone wants to make a bet with me with which game between forza 3 and GT5 gains a higher metacritic score??”
And really what would that prove? So what if GT5 gets the same or a few points higher. The point is people play games to have FUN and they don’t really give a shit if game A gets a few better reviews than game B.
“And really what would that prove? So what if GT5 gets the same or a few points higher. The point is people play games to have FUN and they don’t really give a shit if game A gets a few better reviews than game B.”
I, begrudgingly, have to agree with you. This is why when I bought my 360 I was more looking forward to games such as Dead Rising rather than well rated trash like Halo.
I guess it’s easy to call a game that will have nearly an extra five+ months in development time superior to a game that was release some time last year. Though I do think that Sony needs to make sure the game is better then Forza 2, before making claims that it will be better than Forza 3. Baby steps Sony, baby steps. After seeing GT PSP in action though, I’m a bit concerned about GT5. GT PSP was a huge step backwards for the series.
Did this Mich guy write the article? He’s defending it tooth and nail.
But forget surpassing Forza, GT5 has to surpass GT4.
@erik
I bought my 360 for Oblivion and Dead Rising (but found out that playing Dead Rising is fucking useless unless you have a HDTV, so I never have had a chance to go back to it and I really should before the sequel comes out).
I bought a HDTV because of Dead Rising.
I bought an HDTV because of video games period.
But I wish I still had a 27″ standard TV lying around. I bought Final Fantasy XII and it was so incredibly painful to play on my TV that I could barely play it. Everything was so heavily pixelated, it was hard to see where I was suppose to be going. I couldn’t even read the fucking text to follow the dialog. 480i games are not pretty on a 1080p TV. Also, my PS3 isn’t PS2 BC so I had to buy the component cables to get at least somewhat closer to playable but that’s a no-go. FF13 needs to hurry the fuck up.
@tendonut
I would have been perfectly willing to play all manner of game on an SD tv this generation. Purtyful graphics just aren’t that much of an issue for me. But in Dead Rising Capcom really fudged the text so it can only be readable in HD. So, I bought one with some tax return money. Mostly to just to avoid that in the future. So I bought it purely for text, and not bloom or rendering or any shit like that.
I just really wanted a bigger TV, since every chance that I had previously to get a better TV earlier I passed on it. So back in March I thought to myself and said, “fuck it, not this time”. So Now I have a 37″ Vizio 720p (but it can goto 1080i, but I can’t really tell the difference) and its nice not having to squint.
Also does anyone know if Virtual Console games look like shit HD set?
All old school games look crap on HD tvs. I recall reading an article on it. It has to do with old school tvs and how the blocks that make up the image meshed better with the pixels of old school games. As where new tvs are more smoothed as far as that goes. So the pixels have a tendency to “bleed”. But I can’t remember the specifics or if I’m explaining it correctly. It has been a long time since I’ve read the article.
@InfraredChimera
It depends on the VC game. I haven’t personally downloaded any N64 games, but the NES/SNES/Genesis/TurboGrafx16 games i’ve bought so far look beautiful. I haven’t seen any bleeding problems like erik says, but I don’t doubt people have that issue.
It appears though that non-3D games stretch better than 3D games. Also, the lower the native resolution of your TV, the better all VC games will look. When your TV gets closer to the game’s native resolution, less scaling has to happen.
I also have my Genesis, NES and SNES connected directly to my TV. As long as I have the TV leave the video at it’s normal aspect ratio, the scaling doesn’t really seem noticeable. But when I start up my N64, holy shit my eyes.
“I recall reading an article on it. It has to do with old school tvs and how the blocks that make up the image meshed better with the pixels of old school games”
erik is right about this. So don’t worry about it looking bad. You’ll be fine as long as you aren’t downloading N64 games.
I was going to download Super Mario Bros for my daughter and if it was going to look like a mess, then forget about it. Thanks.
I say go for it. It won’t look like a “mess” but it might not have exactly the same crispness that you remember. But unless you go over it with a magnifying glass it won’t be too big of a deal.
Make sure you remember to set it to the correct aspect ratio. The system isn’t smart enough to know the SMB was a 4:3 aspect ratio game, so it will stretch it horizontally. But yes, go for it, you won’t be disappointed.
I figured that my daughter has taken a interest in New Super Mario Bro, so I rather just spend the $5 on the classic that I grew up with and have her start with that one (and maybe some Zelda as well).
I’m considering buying an FC Twin. Luckily I’ve not thrown away my old tv.
@erik
I’ve seen those at flea markets in the video game kiosks and if I didn’t already own an NES and an SNES, I would buy one myself.
Well, I considered picking up an SNES and NES. But really going onto Ebay and trying to pickup a system that old and hoping that the seller isn’t just selling some nonfunctional box of scrap is beyond my hope for humanity.
@erik
Do you have a Play n’ Trade by you? If you do, they have there own NES/SNES consoles. Also they take any console and its games for trade (unlike gamestop).
If there is anything you could do is go through the phone book and try to find a mom and pop store in your area. I got one called Vidiots and its a importer haven of goodness.
I’m from the Buffalo, NY area. We don’t have crap in terms of video game stores other than GameStop. All the little hole in the wall places get shut down pretty fast.
I do have one mom and pop game store in my town that opened a few months back. But I’ve yet to go there. The parking lot for the Gamestop in my town is much more accessible. To go to the other place I would have to search around for a parking lot of some bar or something a street up, then play some real life Frogger, to go to some place which could very well sucks
Something I forgot to ask after I rented the wretched tragedy:
How the hell can anyone actually like Demon’s Souls? Putting aside for a moment that it is on the PS3, the game is like trying to beat a bullet train in a headbutting contest, only harder. After like 3 days I finally reached the first boss. All of the reviews from the nob gobbling Demon’s Souls fanboys kept talking about how it’s challenging, but you get this fantastic sense of accomplishment when you finally beat something you’ve been working on so long. So after getting to the boss after days and beating him I was waiting for this sense of accomplishment, but nothing came. I felt blank and empty, like the game killed a part of my soul. I felt only remorse for all of the time that I put into it.
Uncharted 2 was a boring experience. But Demon’s Souls wasn’t bad, it broke me.
@erik
Yes, that game IS fucking hard. Ever read Ctrl+Alt+Del? This is one of their side-comics
http://www.cad-comic.com/sillies/20091023
Well like I said simple hard doesn’t cover it. I beat old school Megaman games and I jump off the couch in victory. With this when I overcome something I just look blankly on and say “Oh, I did.” It’s like surviving a plane crash and overcoming great odds by eating your family.
House.
OOOH OOH! Saw mention of the FC Twin. I bought one for ~$35 w/shipping, then ebay’d to get Super Mario World & All Stars for my 17-year-old daughter who suffers from the same kind of video game nostalgia as I generally do…
they’re all upstairs in the attic bedroom attached to a 36″ CRT TV – and she’s lovin’ it.
oops.
Gran Turismo 5 Delayed, New Release Date: TBA
http://kotaku.com/5446924/gran-turismo-5-delayed-new-release-date-tba?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+kotaku/full+(Kotaku)
GT5 STALLS ON THE STARTING LINE:
Release date changed from Summer ’09 to TBA.
http://kotaku.com/5446924/gran-turismo-5-delayed-new-release-date-tba
Looks like PD and Sony need to distance themselves from Forza 3 to avoid comparison.
If this game ever makes it to release, it might look (and only look) better than Forza 3. But by that time, Forza 4 will kick the crap out of it LOL!
Slight typo. That is the date changing from Summer ’10 to TBA.
And in response to the F3 gif videos on this site, I present the beginning of GT5′s “epic domination” of Forza 3:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLVkm-TkOa0
@Dark Knight 2K
I hate to tell you this but, Summer of ’10 is for Japan and TBD is for other regions. So possibly it means we won’t see it untill the fall possibly.
This delay could really hurt the GT fanbase as they could get sick of waiting for this game and either buy something else or say, “fuck it, I’m going to buy a 360 and Forza 3″.
This is just getting a bit too stupid and seriously Polyphony better fucking deliver on this game.
also know what other game that got delayed so many times because the developers wanted it to perfect (and eventually got shit canned)? Duke Nukem Forever (and I was 16 or 17 when that got announced, and now I’m 30).
This game is always worth the wait regardless of what any fanboy might want to tell you. Forza is good but its not Grand Turismo. Forza will always be inferior to the GT series but you fanboys gotta take what you can get right?
erik dissaproves -23
lol cant stop playing dragon age.
@spooky205
I don’t disagree with you about the quality of GT5, but being a fan of the series and costantly having it pushed back is getting quite annoying. But in the meantime Forza 3 will satisfy for my simmish racing needs.
Don’t worry spooky, your approval rating with me bottomed out 100% the moment you were conceived. As such I dub you PSpooky3.
“but you fanboys gotta take what you can get right?”
I don’t think fanboyism really has anything to do with it. We NEED a new simulation racing game. Fanboy or not, the game still rocks. Will it hold up to GT5 whenever it comes out? Who knows, maybe, maybe not.
@InfraredChimera
I wouldn’t say ALL games that get delayed are ultimately disappointments. I have one word for you. Nintendo.
Nintendo as a development company has been pretty consistent at delivering A+ titles yet delaying them months, even years after the original release date. Remember when Ocarina of Time was suppose to be released around the time of the N64 launch? I’m talking Christmas 96. It was finally released November 98. Pretty much every major Nintendo title has been delayed by years. But they always pay off.
@tendonut
It gets annoying as fuck when any company says, “its coming in out this day in this country and then a few months down the road for everyone else.” But then it does get pushed back for region A and for “everyone else” gets fucked for a TBD time frame.
You know what doesn’t bug me? Is when a company just plainly says it will be out when its done. No time frame, no bullshit, just when the damn product is done. Damn so many companies could learn from Blizzard.
@InfraredChimera
I totally agree with you on that. I’ve just learned to ignore the first 4-5 release dates that Nintendo says. So when everyone is like “OMGNEWZELDAFAPFAPFAP” I just think “Oh, Spring 2002? Yeah, i’ll get pumped Winter 2005″
GT5 will be there to show up Forza 3, right after Forza 4 is released.
Know what is a good bit of fun? Showing the clerks how to beat the shit out of Contra on the NES from beginning to end in less than 30 minutes in a Play n’ Trade (and not using the konami code either).
@InfraredChimera
You know what’s even more fun? Playing SNES games when you have very young visitors (friends’ younger siblings) and asking you “OMG what ugly game is THAT? Is that an Atari?” while playing Zelda: Link to the Past, which coincidentally, is what I think is the best game of all time. Then you get to explain the 8 and 16-bit era and try to explain why even though the games are 2D, they can be WAY better than generic 3D shooter A or generic 3D platformer B.
I think the Link to the Past graphics really hold up even to this day. My beef with style over substance shit with the PS3 is that it is the wrong kind of style. A game with an ounce of artistry behind it can look better than games who have “better” graphics on a technological standpoint.
GT5 = Duke Nukem Forever!
What a joke. Y’all can wait for this crappy game while we all play the best racing sim on any console, Forza 3.
$ony can suck it along with their vibrator/wiimote rip off!
FF13 needs to hurry the fuck up and make it’s US release. I was debating which console to get it on, PS3 or 360, but I went for PS3 because, well, it will probably run a hair better on the PS3 since it was developed for it, then ported to the 360, but I am thinking down the line when like Versus. comes out. I’d grab the PS3 version if there was even a hint of some kind of cross-functionality between XIII and XIII Versus.
@erik
A fantastic game will always hold up to the test of time and it doesn’t matter what console it came out on.
Unless it’s the PS3. I can foresee 20 years from now I’ll still be playing SNES games. I can also foresee that 10 years from now I probably won’t be playing PS3 games.
When Uncharted 2 comes to be the age that Link to the Past is now and you bring it up people are just going to look at you bewildered and not knowing what you are talking about.
Heh, we were onto a decent topic, then erik comes back all “OMG TOO LONG WITH ME NOT SOUNDING LIKE AN IDIOT TO EVERYONE BUT MYSELF”
You didn’t think I went away just because that skinwaste stickemup told me to do you? As long as there are gobbling fanboys and the knob of the PS3 presented by Sony I will be here.
Also, I would hate to not sound like an idiot to you. How much of a fucking tragedy would it YOU thought something I said was intelligent?
That would amount to something like: “OMG Uncharted2 is teh bast game evar. It has cell graphix and Spike TV said it is gewd.”
@erik
Link to the Past without a doubt is still one of the most beautiful games I have ever played. The first time stepping out of the house in the middle of the night during a storm was absolutely awesome. Then entering the castle and the music and and….. Oh shit after 20 years it still what I think is close to perfect gameplay, graphics, music and pure fun that hasn’t been replicated since.
When people say that Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda, I look at them as if they where nuts, because either that was there first Zelda game or just don’t have any sense of perspective (to put it nicely).
Ocarina of Time was good, but yeah, not as good as Link the the Past. The original gameboy one whose name escapes me was pretty good as well.
“i really laugh at people that think that forza 3 is in the same league as gran turismo 5. Just wait until march gets here and people start to import gran turismo 5. its going to fucking blow forza 3 out of the water just like uncharted 2 blew every game out of the water in 2009.
and that cover is amazing.”
It’s called hype.
@erik
Links Awakening.
Ever play the Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons? It was an interesting game though not developed by Nintendo exclusively..I think Capcom did most of it. Plays a LOT like Link’s Awakening.
@tendonut
No I never had, the opportunity to play those ones never arose.
I never played them either. They always seemed a little too gimmicky to me.
@erik/InfraredChimera
They are worth playing..feels a lot like Link’s Awakening. Definitely feel like Zelda. Minish Cap is the one that felt just a bit off.
More Gran Turismo = BOOOOORRRRIIINNNNGGGGGG!!!
On to a better topic…
MAG comes out tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to getting this game, BUT, it will be a rental first. Why? Many POS3 exclusives have been teh suck! I don’t really like the POS3 crapaxis controllers, but want to see what the reviews say and try the game before buying. I want to know if 256 players can actually happen and not suck all the time. Also concerned with lack of voice from most players!
I guess we will see! I hope this is not a crappy game. Else, Mass Effect 2 here I come!
@Xbox360FTW
You have to choose between MAG and Mass Effect 2? Get both! I myself and more excited for ME2, but I won’t be buying either for a while because I am in the middle of playing FF8 I downloaded from the PSN, me and my brother have to play through Gears of War 2 that I finally got, I am really enjoying Borderlands on the PC, and Assassin’s Creed 2 is still unopened on the shelf left over from Christmas on my 360.
@xbox360ftw
Speaking from being in the closed beta for MAG, I find it to be closer to what Battlefield is rather than a COD game. Strangly enough the game does work with that many players as you will be fighting in more “proxy” battles but on a grander scale (and yes the maps are quite big as well). I will probably be picking it up since I’m finding to be more and more dissatisfied with MW2 every time I play it.
As for ME2 is a simple matter; if you liked the first game then you should probably pick up the sequel.
Or just go with your gut instinct.
I think avoiding all things PS3 would be gut instinct.
Cant wait for Mass effect bundle for the ps3!
Thanks for beta testing it xbots .
Mass Effect is shit.
MAG shows some promise, but I think Battlefield: BC 2 will prove to be more popular, especially as smaller teams = less likelihood of lag.
I was in the MAG beta which i didnt like at all but one good thing about it is that i didnt experience any lag . So far reviews have been good for this game [Mostly 8's] so you might or might not like this game.
@RainbowSeven
“especially as smaller teams = less likelihood of lag”
Teams would not cause lag. The number of connected clients is what causes lag. It doesn’t matter how those users are connected.
MAG will definitely test Sony’s network though.
@tendonut
So, do you have any more PS3 games that I “need to play so I know whether or not I’ll like them or not.”
@tendonut
“Teams would not cause lag. The number of connected clients is what causes lag. It doesn’t matter how those users are connected.”
*Facepalm*
That’s what I was saying. – Battlefield: BC will have less lag because it has smaller teams, i.e. less players.
@RainbowSeven
OK, that makes more sense. I thought you were trying to say the fact that the users were on teams were the cause of the delay.
@erik
No, you seem to hate them either way, so go on letting your system rot.
@tendonut
“No, you seem to hate them either way, so go on letting your system rot.”
Wait, hold on. Are you saying that you finally get it? Holy hell. Just HOW LONG did that take you?
@Infaredchimera
Take notes on tendonut’s discovery here. Ask tendonut how I will feel about Uncharted 3.
@erik
I find it to be useless talking about PS3 games to ya because you hate them all anyways (if you haven’t even played it).
So rather repeating ourselves and expecting a different outcome(which is the definition of insanity).
As far for taking “notes”, I have just been trolling you for almost over a year already and have found it be quite fun. And Uncharted 3 you will dislike.
@Infaredchimera
“you hate them all anyways (if you haven’t even played it).”
And it took you this long to figure it out. Wow, if only you could have come to this conclusion before the Killzone 2 debacle.
@erik
No it didn’t I just like egging you on.
Otherwise Death Smiles is coming to America courtesy of Aksys Games!!!!!
^^^^^
Otherwise this has become one of my most anticipated games of the year.
By egging me on you mean you looking like a complete moron who is completely incapable of catching on until months, no years later?
Not really, since you kept falling for my bullshit in the first place. Hell I even had said I’ve been fucking with you in past posts.
If by falling for your bullshit you mean me laughing at your stupid shit for over a year straight then, yeah.
“Buh-buh-buh, you have to play Killzone 2 before you know if you like it” I still laugh my ass off at that one.
I rather be a bullshit artist than be a ignorant asshole anyday.
“I bought a PS3 even though I know I won’t like it. And then I will procede to bitch about it and how every game sucks on it, no matter if I haven’t even played them yet.”
Yeah I still laugh about.
http://www.justpushstart.com/2010/01/29/grand-theft-auto-liberty-city-stories-officially-announced-for-ps3/
LMAO
@InfaredChimera
I wouldn’t say you are a bullshit artist, more like a slack-jawed yokel.
@mich99
We all knew it wasn’t a total system exclusive, but rather time-locked.
Oh, and erik has resorted to name calling. This argument has really degraded…
http://www.cnn.com/2010/BUSINESS/01/29/davos.bill.gates.donates/index.html?hpt=T2
What’s Kaz Hirai done for people lately?
Oh look, the P$3 got more leftovers.
@tendonut
The name calling started a LONG time ago. Where have you been?
@tendonut
I agree with erik on this one. We have been calling each other fucking assholes, idiots, and other shit for well over a year already. Pathetic? Yes it is. Fun? Maybe. Pointless? Definitly.
You guys spend so much time defending a console thats been in desperate need of help from the start. Youre also trashing Forza 3, and comparing it to a vaporware title thats been delayed so many time that 2 Forza’s have been released since then. Forza is at least a real title, not just a talk/delay fest from Microsoft. The entire genre is just about left to hardcore fans only, Sony is going to lose so much money even if the game releases.
If you want to defend Sony, do it with your wallets. Dont do it with words.
Hell to just maybe to start some shit; personally I’m enjoying MAG a helluva alot more that MW2. And I will also tack on Bad Company 2 as well.
MW2= Bullshit thats still fun, but when you need to be called every offensive word under the sun.
First off:
http://kotaku.com/5460078/sony-pleased-as-punch-with-apples-ipad
This is a prime example of why I hate Sony now. What I want to know how they manage to fit such an inflated head like theirs up their own ass? Between this, the second job comment, and the arrogant and naive remark about not being able to find a PS3 on store shelves when they were gathering dust on the shelves (though they are doing better now, not the point) the only thing a thinking person can do is say “What the fuck?”
Secondly
I’ve been playing Mass Effect 2 and I like it. But I’m not sure how I like it in comparison to the second game. There are traces of the original game left but, it’s so different I’m undecided so far on how it stacks up.
Also I forgot to add to the first remark: The PSP is a deeper system? Since when? The new PSP go is a total joke and a failure. Yeah, make a system called a PSP that is completely incompatible with a majority of your library, brilliant. Find a way to make your failure of a hand-held more of a failure.
@erik
Yeah, the PSPGo is a failure, there is no denying that. I also found it funny that SDF was saying a while back that the PSPGo would demolish the DS because it could do SOOO much. Did they totally forget that the regular PSP is pretty beefy and is most definitely far beyond the abilities of the DS, yet it STILL is trailing behind it? Adding features to a handheld with a weak lineup (according to people AND critics, not just DS fanboys), will not make it sell. They have to put out games that people WANT like with what they did with the PS3 to make it bounce back from it’s slum. The PS3 is finally on a road to recovery. I will probably never catch up to the 360 but it is selling pretty much just as well ever since they fixed their bullshit lineup and got with the program (took them long enough)
The PSPGo not only severely limits the number of games one can play on the system, but brings nothing to the table. It is geared towards new PSP owners though, not as a replacement for the regular PSP. Maybe if they allowed you to copy games from UMD to the internal memory, they could save themselves a little bit. But the fact still stands. If your system is not selling well, do NOT release a newly remodeled version of the SAME THING if it doesn’t lower the price.
Um, after a solid weekend of playing MAG (rental), it’s OK, not great, OK. And no, it’s not 256 at the same time, it 128 max, split up into groups, down to 8 max. About 5-10% of the players have mics. About 5% of the poeple during the game leave/kicked because of lag or ping. I never liked the failstation controllers, and they are horrible here. MAG may have an edge to scale in maps, but MW2 is just so much more fun. I give MAG a 6-7, mostly because it’s online only and may be doomed just like SOCOM. Really, is it that hard to do a campaign? Not worth buying, make it rental. Sorry Chimera, I agree with what you say often, but MAG is not better than MW2 except for scale.
@xbox360ftw
I haven’t had the problems you encountered with being kicked because of lag (I must be lucky) but i won’t say they don’t exist. I do agree with the PS3 controllers suck for FPSs but I did buy a 3rd party controller for that very reason as it does have a 360 feel and stick placement.
As for MW2, its fun, well made, but in all its kinda of a “been there, done that” feel to it. Too me it feels that IW made a game based upon the hype of there own game. Personally I’m moving away from the COD franchise everytime I boot up MW2 because I’m realising I’m not having any fun with it and spend more time getting pissed at it.
@InfraredChimera & xbox360FTW
I am still on the fence about buying MAG, mostly for the controller. 360 just blows it away and it would be even more awesome to make a PC version.
MW2..I played it for PC, but single player only (we all know why it fails online for PC by now). It did have a whole “been there, done that” feel to it for sure. It was awesome, but not worth $60 (For PC? WTF?) for what would basically be PC only. My brother has it for the 360 and he really has the same complaints when playing online. It really brought nothing to the table other than new maps. I am just really hoping Bad Company 2 can take the place of LAN FPS now. CoD4 was the last CoD game we played at LAN parties, and now we are falling back on Team Fortress 2.
CAREFUL EVERYONE. This site has been compromised by a javascript-based virus. I just loaded it and my AV stopped FF from loading a javascript file. JS/Wonka is what it detected it as.
Will the virus do any damage if I visit this site from the PS3 browser? Because if it does that might have to be something for me to consider.
The ps3 doesnt get virus , So you are safe to navigate the interwebs erik from the safety of your “own” ps3.
Well that is unfortunate. I was hoping there would be some upside to the virus. Oh well.
But I really think that it is hilarious that you still apparently think that it is impossible to both own and hate the PS3. It is somewhat reminiscent of SDF’s repeated idiotic claims that any minor contact with any PS3 games will have a person selling their 360.
Thankfully I came into contact with these games and they did not win me over. MGS4, LBP, InFamous, the Uncharted series, all get a big “meh” from me.
@erik
Oh for fucks sales erik, will you stop intentionally prodding people trying to get them to argue with you? We realize you have no friends (you’ve admitted it), but just stop it already.
BTW, it appears the virus has been taken care of.
*sakes
Damnit, it’s too early for me today.
I’m pretty sure that I was the one who was prodded with the insipid “own” comment. And I’ll stop having arguments when you stop trying to have friendly conversations.
@erik
“Will the virus do any damage if I visit this site from the PS3 browser? Because if it does that might have to be something for me to consider.”
Who are you trying to impress? This whole site seems to have very few members. We get it. You hate the PS3. Fine. Constantly throwing in random unrelated posts reminding everyone that you’re still alive and still have no one to talk to doesn’t really do anything other than make you look like a troll who’s fishing for a fight.
@erik
“And I’ll stop having arguments when you stop trying to have friendly conversations.”
Good lord that is juvenile. A AM ANGRY AND I WANT EVERYONE TO BE AS UNHAPPY AS ME! ARG.
Go back to your bridge.
@tendonut
I have just as much right to post how much I hate the PS3 as you CONSTANTLY make mention of how much you like it. Ergo, I’ll stop having arguments when you stop having friendly conversations.
Why do you think you should have the right to speak when you think that I don’t?
@erik
Because you exist on this site just to piss people off. You have the right to, but WHY? Why are you so fucking miserable? Is your life really this empty that you have to come onto an obscure troll site and get people worked up so you have someone to talk to? No one sides with you, you just love posting random unrelated comments to either hijack a thread or get an argument going. This is definition trolling and I am calling you out.
I really don’t think you are honest about your arguments but they create such “WTF” thoughts in even 360 fanboy minds that people think you are either insane or just trolling. Maybe if you gave us your PSN name, we can confirm that you never actually use your system and you’re legitimately out of your mind. Come on, what will its hurt? It’s not like you ever use your system, right?
InfraredChimera is on both systems pretty consistently. I know he is not full of shit when he says he has both and uses them. I’m constantly tempted to send him a PM just for the hell of it but I always get sidetracked. Like Saturday night as I was playing Gears of War online with a friend.
@tendonut
“You have the right to, but WHY?”
Why do you have friendly conversations? You have the right to, but WHY?
@erik & @tendonut
Get a room. Consummate the relationship already. You both have so much in common, and obviously are helplessly in love with one-another.
@taygee
Why? Are you jealous?
I have this crazy theory that erik is part of the staff working in this site and he just like to start arguments so that people keep coming back and back. To be honest,if Erik wasn’t in this page talking so much crap, There wouldn’t be so many comments lol. What does erik gain from coming to this site day after day to bash the ps3? i just dont get it.
@mich99
Not everything a person does in life is to “gain” something.
I guess 7 Eleven has a God of War 3 Kratos flaveored Slurpee, which automatically means that 7 Eleven are PS3 fanboys that are stupid.
And Pepsi are MS fanboys because of the Halo 3 Mt. Dew.
And Yakuza 2 (PS2) is the shit and its sequel is coming out next month for the PS3, so that means it will suck.
@InfaredChimera
7 Eleven are whores. They will promote anyone, anytime. So really for them being stupid would be a step up. So anything PS3 related they do is beside the point.
“And Yakuza 2 (PS2) is the shit and its sequel is coming out next month for the PS3, so that means it will suck.”
True.
@erik
Buy Yakuza 3 because Final Fantasy will probably be a overhyped dissapointment and by all means its got a more engrossing storyline than anything that will be coming out.
Actually do yourself a favor and buy the second game (if you can find it, its kinda hard to find nowadays).
@InfaredChimera
“Buy Yakuza 3″
Sorry, not going to happen.
@erik
Well no shit, I know you weren’t going to buy it, I’m just messing with you.
No but seriously, honestly Yakuza 2 is worth checking out. If you ever played River City Ransom on the NES, this would be the best way to describe what Yakuza is all about but with a mature story and in japanese.
I’ll probably rent Yakuza 3 mind you. Even though I know without a shadow of a doubt that I will hate it.
@erik
Um don’t rent the third one untill you play through the second game. The series is quite story heavy and it would be like watcing Lost without acutally know whats going on.
Just rent Yakuza 2 and see if what you play is something that will interest you and if it does the same exact team is making the third game.
That’s a nice cover. Shame that it’s going to be the only thing revolutionary about this game.
forza 3 will kill this game any day
