From looking at the January NPD game sales it seems Mass Effect 2 didn’t perform as well as expected. For a game that was supposed to sell millions, it didn’t even beat out New Super Mario Bros for the month, with Wii Fit and Modern Warfare 2 right behind it. This casts a huge shadow on a potential 3rd game in the series and adds pressure to EA to get the PS3 versions out as soon as possible. Lets hope Bioware can recover from this debacle before EA starts another round of cuts.

So being in second on that list counts as bombed? I think you need to double check your usage of the word. Furthermore, still pulling the Playstation Family bullshit and still listing the DS and Wii as separate entities? You are desperate desperate whores.
As Mass Effect 2 has sold well over a million copies on the 360 alone, not including the million or so copies sold on the PC, there is no doubt that there will be a second one. Add to that the again near perfect metacritic scores and, well you are talking out of your asses.
Also as far as a PS3 version? Your slow ass blu-ray would facilitate the need for an ungodly amount of installs.

Number one bitches
And I also notice that there is only one game in the list that SDF posted. Further failures! Well maybe you can start putting games together like you do with systems with the “Playstation Family”. Maybe “Demon’s MAG” could be a contender.
They forgot the whole part about the game coming out January 26th, 2010..so yeah, half a million in 5 days? Sounds about right.
And yes, whats with the whole grouping the PSP and PS3 together? Break it down by system and we’ll see how close it really was.
5 days and over a half of a million copies of ME2, thats fucking impressive. Alot better than KZ2 I recall.
Now for the true definition of a game bombing I present this example:
http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=7253®ion=All
Hmmmm seeing as no PS3 exclusive games even MADE that list, oh dear..
Also this,
“PlayStation Family”
That’s the best!
“We can’t beat them individually, but if we pool all of our sales into one block, we outsell…SHIT! We’re still not coming out on top! But at least stacking our numbers put us ahead of the 360…right? RIGHT?!”
Not very original there SDF. Its really pathetic. Just give up. Its over.
Gotta love how people still get trolled to oblivion by SDF.
PS3 is the superior console, deal with it rrodbox fanboys.
Where’s that mick guy with is spin on this? LOL.
Just read that Flow is free today off the PSN if anyone cares.
It any good?
Its alright, it can get rather repetitive guite quickly. Basically its like pac-man but with a pretentious context behind it.
Yeah it really bombed compared to the sales of MAG.
Absolutely Fantastic two posts, SDF!
Thanks again for bringing back the funny!
OMG – I just frickin’ got it.
I can’t believe I hadn’t gotten it before.
erik is a deliberate parody of SDF, which itself is a parody.
erik, I bow to you humbly, and am ashamed it took me this long to “get it”.
Okay, so I realize that this is going to be rather short of a response. But I’m at a loss of how to word it any other way.
@Taygee
What?
btw – check out the latest Alan Wake trailer released at X10 (SDF moderates me every time I link :p) – I’m the guy hit by the car.
No kidding.
@erik,
don’t worry, I won’t hammer the point and be a buzzkill – you can keep up your parody!
So ask me how BioShock 2 is.
@InfraredChimera – just had a totally random independent thought which inexplicably leads me to ask you the following question –> how BioShock 2 is?
@taygee
Gameplay wise its slightly better than BioShock, but the story is weaker. Also that sense of “awe” that came the first one is basically gone, when I first started the game I was like “Yup…. Thats Rapture”.
The multiplayer is fun but its no replacement for COD, MAG, BF or Halo. Basically see what it has too offer and thats it.
So in all intensive purposes just rent the game. Because if I where to buy it, then I would be quite let down with my purchase.
thanks for the info, infra…
I’m one who very rarely buys games new or within the first year of release, preferring to pick ‘em up more cheaply at used game stores…
the original Bioshock, for example, is very close to my “willing to pay that $$” level as a used product.
@taygee
Again I have to ask, What? I can assure you this is not parody. I may have taken a harder line against Sony and the PS3 in response to putting as much distance between myself and the PS3 fanboys than I have before I started reading there, but it is not parody.
@erik
Don’t have anything to add to my statements previously made, erik – just carry-on to my continued admiration a amusement, plz. thanks.
i’m definitely still disappointed with myself that it took so long to get it, but am pleased that I now do…
@taygee
Is this some kind of weird trolling attempt? Trying to say that I’m doing a parody when I obviously am not?
nothing more from me on the subject, erik, I promise!
@taygee
Since you did not directly answer the question I can only conclude from what you did say that what you are doing is indeed a trolling attempt.
@erik,
as you were, carry-on, Good Sir!
So do you honestly believe that the only way a person would say that they dislike the PS3 is because they are pulling some sort of parody? Therefore rendering it impossible to hate the PS3 regardless of what you say?
Message received and understood, Sir! *ScribbleScribble*
Don’t worry, I’ll eat that if I’m captured.
So the above troll who literally has nothing to say aside back to the topic at hand.
@InfaredChimera
You actually liked the Bioshock 2 multiplayer? I played a half-hour or so of the deathmatch and found it to be a hollow and lifeless experience. I can’t put my thumb on it. Even the stages seem as though they are “Rapture themed levels” rather than actually having a shootout through Rapture itself.
@erik
I wouldn’t say I “like it” but I didn’t hate it either. There seemed like there’s some general thought and consideration to it than rather then be a tacked on game mode.
But what gets me is the way the little sisters are used in the “capture the flag” mode. As a narrative device there disturbing but give the game its unique strangeness, as a MP thing it just cheapens them it puts them as the “rock” in basketball.
@InfaredChimera
Another thing that sort of bugs me is just how pale shadows the plasmids seem of themselves. I understand for balance purposes why they changed them from the single player mode. But they seemed to have become so generic that I don’t really see what separates incinerate from winter blast aside from the graphics.
@erik
Its what you can do with them in the context of the game. Incernate is great for the obvious with shotgun and great for taking someone out in the big daddy suit. While winter blast can jam the doorways and cause hacked machines from the other team to give you more time to undo there hacks and also to stop a opponent in there tracks. Strangly there is a quite a bit of depth to it with the plasmids and tonic configs that its what suits your play style more.
@InfaredChimera
Er, well actually I made a typo. The comparison I meant to make was that I can see no difference between electro-bolt and winter blast. They both just seem to make the other player to miss a step. The only difference I can see is the graphics.
mass effect 2 is better than any other rpg on the ps3 so suck it ps3 fanboys
