Er, well actually I made a typo. The comparison I meant to make was that I can see no difference between electro-bolt and winter blast. They both just seem to make the other player to miss a step. The only difference I can see is the graphics.

Its what you can do with them in the context of the game. Incernate is great for the obvious with shotgun and great for taking someone out in the big daddy suit. While winter blast can jam the doorways and cause hacked machines from the other team to give you more time to undo there hacks and also to stop a opponent in there tracks. Strangly there is a quite a bit of depth to it with the plasmids and tonic configs that its what suits your play style more.

Another thing that sort of bugs me is just how pale shadows the plasmids seem of themselves. I understand for balance purposes why they changed them from the single player mode. But they seemed to have become so generic that I don't really see what separates incinerate from winter blast aside from the graphics.

I wouldn't say I "like it" but I didn't hate it either. There seemed like there's some general thought and consideration to it than rather then be a tacked on game mode.
But what gets me is the way the little sisters are used in the "capture the flag" mode. As a narrative device there disturbing but give the game its unique strangeness, as a MP thing it just cheapens them it puts them as the "rock" in basketball.

So the above troll who literally has nothing to say aside back to the topic at hand.

@InfaredChimera

You actually liked the Bioshock 2 multiplayer? I played a half-hour or so of the deathmatch and found it to be a hollow and lifeless experience. I can't put my thumb on it. Even the stages seem as though they are "Rapture themed levels" rather than actually having a shootout through Rapture itself.

So do you honestly believe that the only way a person would say that they dislike the PS3 is because they are pulling some sort of parody? Therefore rendering it impossible to hate the PS3 regardless of what you say?

Since you did not directly answer the question I can only conclude from what you did say that what you are doing is indeed a trolling attempt.
