Major 360 Exclusive Lost: Mass Effect 2 coming to PS3
In what looks to be a massive (some would say fatal) blow to the Xbox 360, EA announced at Gamescom 2010 that Mass Effect 2 would be coming to the Playstation 3 on January 2011.
Expect the port fully utilize the power of the PS3 which means better textures, faster loading and a more fluid frame rate than the 360 version.
I guess waiting for GT5 conditioned you all to not mind waiting years for something.

This is EA we’re talking about! They make shoddy PS3 ports, so expect the following:
*Summary of the events of ME1 in leu of experiencing the first game and getting to import your character.
*Inferior textures
*More screen tearing
*Scaled back graphics
*Chuggy frame rate.
*Mandatory Install.
*Longer load times.
*Full price for a year old port.
Also, with the amount of choices ported from the first game into the second, to release the sequel without the original is idiotic to say the least.
Oh well, not like the walking coma victims of the PS3 fanclub care about things such as story anyways. Just HD.

You got a movie of the first game’s cutscenes. This was to help you get acclimated with the plot. It was no where near as engrossing as actually playing Shenmue I. That is the treatment that this game is getting, plus no carrying over your character from the first Mass Effect. This goes against Bioware’s vision of the trilogy being one coherent experience.
I foresee this game selling poorly on the PS3. REAL RPGs don’t sell well on the PS3, as it’s fanboys only like fake RPGs featuring effeminate men, inflexible cut scene driven game play and J-pop. A game where you have more control over your character’s identity and decisions frightens and confuses them. After an hour of ME2, they will want to go back to their J-crap.

First off, Mass Effect 2 was never an exclusive to begin with – it was on the PC from day 1.
And the PS3 version won’t be as good as the PC version. Have fun bragging about second place.

When a game is classed as ‘Xbox 360 Exclusive’ It can still be released on PC, just think of it as ‘Microsoft Exclusive’ as the game on PC runs on Windows.
As for this, I already played the Superior version through, on max settings, on a True-HD Monitor on my PC that could run circles around a dozen PS3′s.
Also PS3 fanboys, My PC has a Blu-Ray drive in my PC also. It’s an LG 8x Speed Blu-Ray Drive. Enjoy your PS3′s Gimped 2x Speed Slow-Ray chugging out data at the speed of a striking slug. Must be why most games install to the PS3′s Harddrive.

First off PS3 is not ‘everyone else’ and your Sony-gods are giving you a $50 fee by next spring anyway so another 10 for good servers and great community is worth it!

This has annoyed me since Netflix went behind the Gold curtain, but the whole bragging about Hulu Plus is total bullshit since it requires an additional subscription to the service. Neither Hulu nor Netflix use the XBL network at all and by making us pay for the Gold subscription to use those services is on par with me charging Microsoft a fee for using their own electricity provided to them by the power company.
Also, I don’t give a fuck about ESPN and I am not all too thrilled about them using the inclusion of that as justification to raise the yearly price. $50 a year is already pushing it since I don’t play games online with XBL and only keep it around because Netflix support on the 360 is far superior to the PS3. But with Sony getting native Netflix support soon, my 360 may start to get used far less.
The PROPER response for this, which I probably WILL take, is not renew XBL because of the price hike. The improper action would be to pay for another year or two, but then just let it expire and NEVER use it, while complaining about how expensive it was. That would just be silly.

You’re not a rube for not wanting to pay to play online (and in some cases I agree with you), but there is a reason why I would rather play multiplayer games on the 360 over the PS3. And that is simple; the 360 is just easier when I want to play with my friends online and its easier to setup a game than the ps3.

I’m willing and happy to pay for Live. On the other hand I’m not sure I would engage myself with PSN if Sony paid me to do so. Not that I turn on the big black dust magnet enough for it to matter if they did pay me or not. my PS3 has probably been on less than a dozen times this year I’m guessing.

Seriously? Where have I been. I’ve been avoiding playing certain PS2 games because it looks like balls on my 42″ 1080p LCD. A BC PS3 would make it much more bearable. I was always wondering why exactly they would strip out SOFTWARE emulation.

GT hasn’t been the best driving sim since GT3 A Spec. Its been edged out Forza for years. You know, Sonytards should be thankful for Forza. I think they should go back to making PlayStation 1 games. At least back then their games WERE the most realistic, well put together racing games out there.

No customization, like 6 or 7 tracks, and besides for graphics, GT1 was superior. I actually bought GT5P when I got my 360 (along with a copy of Planet Earth) and I was severely disappointed. I went back to playing GT3 until Forza 3 came out.

Gran Turismo 3 has been out forever. It has been out for a damn near decade. So lots of people have picked it up in the Walmart $5 bin. That is what happens when you take forever to make a fucking game.

This is 2010, PD is just NOW getting around to adding features that have been standard in driing/racing sims for years. In typical Japanese developer fashion, PD rested on the laurels and acclaim from GT2! “Why make any REAL improvements, those stupid round eyes we call a fanbase won’t know any better!” Meanwhile a Western dev was busy handing their asses to them.

Figured I’d throw a little gas on the fire here for the lulz, but did anyone see that the latest firmware update for the PS3 that enabled 3D will disable DTS-Master and Dolby Digital TrueHD audio when viewing a 3D movie? This may not be a big deal to many (including me, because 3D is still not impressing me), but it kind of makes me chuckle when I think about how pumped up that cell processor was for the PS3 for just this kind of functionality, just to have it fall on its face when put under any real stress.

Please note that the PS3 took more than 10 times the time to load as the 360, rendered only about half the frames as 360, and the texture quality was far less impressive than on 360.
Also note that I loved the ps2 more than the other consoles of it’s generation, but this time around, 360 takes the cake. Hopefully Sony will get itself together for PS4 and reclaim it’s reputation, because the PS3 ruined it.

Not quite. To play devils advocate, the PS3 hardware has changed drastically over the years with hardware revision after hardware revision to get the cost lower. The model number changes with each revision, so I suppose comparing it to, say, a HP Pavilion would be a valid comparison. Hardware changes, prices drop, but you don’t start hating on all HP Pavilions because the first one was $5,000, but now they can be had for $400.
Of course, I assume you, like me, haven’t “bought” a built computer in years, but the argument still stands.

MAG has been updated recently and is very precise with Move now.
Move works fine and is enjoyable and has far more precision and potential than the Wii, whereas Kinect is just pure trash.
Regarding GT5.. it was inevitable. Can’t say I’m surprised, can only laugh really.

That isn’t being the devil’s advocate. That is being pedantic. Despite minor variations and model numbers a PS3 is a PS3. A computer is a lot of things. Comparing the two does not work. A computer is akin to a console. A computer is not akin to one specific type of console from one brand.
As an aside, I didn’t pay $600 for my P$3. I paid $400 for my P$3. And I paid even less for that in cash for trading in my Wii. A mistake I will never live down.
But don’t get me wrong, even at $.01 the P$3 would be overpriced.

More precise than the Wii? Riiiiight. Just ask RE5 Gold edition, which is a complete cluster fuck, btw. Only the usual suspects had anything good to say about it. RE4 Wii edition was released in 2007, and functioned perfectly! Hell, not even half the showcase pieces that Sony has put together for Move work properly. Capcom is no stranger to making motion controls work beautifully, Sony just has a piece of shit setup.
The Motion+ add-on can does perfect 1:1. You can get AS precise, but you can’t exceed 1:1. So unless Move alters the time space continuum, Move can only be on par with Motion+.
You say Move is more enjoyable than the Wii? Most places are giving Move lukewarm reviews. Very few people are raving about it.
And there’s that “potential” word again. THE number one excuse of all Sony apologists. PS3 is full of “potential”, but does potential = success? 2006 to present day says “Fuck no!”. Potential doesn’t means shit, when its Sony we’re talking about.
