Halo 4 to be a Kinect exclusive?

Rumor has it that 343 Studios, the new studio that will be handling the Halo series after Bungie jumped ship, is testing their Halo 4 engine at gaming trade shows.   As you can see from the video, Halo 4 will most likely be Kinect exclusive to help boost the sales of their $149.99 webcam.  The graphics seem to be a step down from Halo: Reach (which was already a step down from Halo 2.5) but hopefully what the game lacks in graphics will be made up for in full body interactive game play.

As a side note, we realize SDF has promised a Halo: Reach review, but unfortunately the frame rate was so bad the reviewer fell ill from motion sickness.  We’ll keep you updated on the reviewer’s health status should they continue on to bring our readers a fair and objective viewpoint.  Remember, no matter how many Xbox 360 slims we get sent, we will never compromise our reviews.

  1. Look at that stunning precision and accuracy.

    150 US DOLLARS

  2. That isn’t Halo.

Also, fell ill from pretend frame rate issues? No one believes you.

  3. “Here at SDF, we must fulfill our duties of distracting from actual news.

Please ignore the reality of the slippage of GT5.

    That is all.”

  4. Also, what the fuck is an Xbox 360 Slim? Such a product does not exist.

  5. 1. As I recall, Microsoft released Bungie two or three years ago. They didn’t jump ship.
    2. Don’t go throwing prices around. Move is a beast just to set up ONE player.
    3. I know a tech demo when I see one.

  6. Also, now we know for a fact Ohwow contributes to this lame blog. He DID post that clip earlier today.

  7. The thing about Kinect is after you have the unit, you are fairly well set up.

For Move you need the camera, and a lollipop controller. Some games require a second lollipop controller so that is another $50. If you want a second player for that same game you will need another TWO $50 lollipops.

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ONY!

  8. SDF, I am confused.

    According to you:
Halo 4 cannot exist, because Halo 3 doesn’t exist, because Halo 2.5 doesn’t exist, because there is no such thing as Halo 2, there is only Halo, and Halo 1.5.
Someone on your staff has divided by zero.

  9. Erik, don’t forget the navigation controllers!

  10. Okay, so lets see here.

    The Camera with Lollipop $100
For some games you will need a navigation controller $35
For some games you will need a second lollipop $50
If you have a second gamer in the house another lollipop $50
For the second player for some games you will need a navigation controller $35
For the second player for some games you will need a second lollipop.

A little math and we get:

$320! Three hundred and fucking twenty dollars! That is like buying a whole new console!

  11. Over three hundred smackers…wow!
Those dopey fucks who bought the $599 USD PS3 with a shit eating grin on their face won’t know any better though.

There are only two people whose opinions I respect, Kazunori Yamauchi and myself, and we are in full agreement that Lulza is definitely not a sim. Check for yourself.

Just 23 DAYS!!! Logitech wheels at the ready! You know, the best wheels on the market (which M$haft won’t let you use with your 3$hitty).

    Haha I love you guys…

19 days left, GT5!!! Enjoying your countdown??

    19 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. SDF, are you going to post a retraction as this is Deca Sports Freedom?(AKA Wii Sports. Sort of like that fucking Sports Champions game for the PS3 BowlMOVEment?)

  14. SDF? Post a retraction? That’ll be the day!
Getting a PS3 fanturd to admit that they were wrong is impossible.

  15. I’ve just got to ask.

Do you guys really think these articles are made seriously?

  16. @Ohder

“Do you guys really think these articles are made seriously?”

They are probably not. But I prefer to err on the side of caution. I thought that the articles on Conservapedia were not made seriously. I shall not make that mistake again.

  17. Also, you haven’t mailed me yet so I can finally put your asinine clam that I don’t have a PS3 to rest.

  18. Forgive me for being skeptical of your PS3 ownership, bro, but I really don’t care enough to mail you. I’ll take your word for it.

  19. Then stop with your asinine statement that I don’t have any knowledge about how hard the PS3 sucks based on not supposedly not owning one.

  20. Well you refuse to indulge any in depth opinions about any of the games other than “hurr durp it sucks 0/10″.

    So yeah.

  21. The fact remains that I’ve tried most of the big name PS3 games and I have found that I dislike them. Would you rather I lie and say “Durp, Uncharted 2 is 10/10 because…. yay PS3!”

    MGS4 Sucks
    InFamous sucks
    Killzone 2 sucks
    Little Big Planet sucks
    Uncharted sucks
    Uncharted 2 sucks
    Demon’s Souls sucks

  22. It’s not my fault you don’t like games.

    :(

I agree Killzone 2 and Infamous suck, though.

  23. I like many games. Why would you say I don’t like games? That is a ridiculous statement.

  24. You don’t like every and all PS3 exclusives, therefore you hate games.

  25. did Killzone 2 singleplayer really suck? Much as I’m incredibly unlikely to ever buy a PS3 (well, once it gets ridiculously cheap as used, mebbe) – that franchise has caused me not-small amounts of curiousity.

  26. “did Killzone 2 singleplayer really suck?”

It is a brown and gray shooter, but the browns and grays are in high def. It is an averagely competent shooter that doesn’t excel on any front or push any boundaries. The story on the other hand is utterly subpar with forgettable characters that you never can form any sort of emotional connection with. The characters are so generic that in the cut scenes sometimes it’s hard to recall which character you are.

    @taygee

Erik hit the nail on the head actually. The game MP is actually quite good and its a mix between Battlefield and Call of Duty where teamwork is more important than lone wolfing it.

  28. I don’t do multiplayer, so I don’t know of it’s quality. My social anxiety issues make playing multiplayer games all but nigh impossible.

  29. I had to LOL at this

“As you can see from the video, Halo 4 will most likely be Kinect exclusive”

Way to pull a conclusion out of nowhere based on nothing. It’s like saying “The night sky is black…money is blue….THEREFORE OBAMA MUST BE A SOCIALIST!!!”

  30. This is probably their worst “article” yet.
I’d venture to say that they are even worse than their stinky homeless Mexican “review” videos.

  31. http://www.iwaggle3d.com/2010/10/about-15-million-playstation-move-sold.html

So much for 300k sales, huh? 1.5 million in Europe alone!

  32. @ohwow

To quote what many PS3 fans have (likely you as well) to Wii fans: “LOL enjoy your waggle stick”.

  33. You got that right, Erik!
“Wii is a lollipop, and I’m too old for lollipops.”,
    Sony’s own Jack Trenton.

Now Sony and their fanbase have thick, throbbing, stiff hard ons for waggle!

  34. Then again, those sales are quite “meh”, when compared to the number of PS3s out there. In fact, that is fucking abysmal. If Move was what PS3 owners really wanted, why didn’t more of them buy it?

  35. Since when was Move something PS3 owners really wanted? since when was Kinect something 360 owners really wanted?

Also, I will do erik, it’s a fun device!

I’ve also never criticised the Wii.

  36. http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7858/marcuse.jpg
Oh SNAP! Is that a Nintendo DS Marcus is holding?
Why isn’t SDF on top of this hot news?

  37. @ohwow

“Since when was Move something PS3 owners really wanted? since when was Kinect something 360 owners really wanted?

Also, I will do erik, it’s a fun device!”

Apparently the Move is something you wanted, as you called it a fun device.

  38. Actually I never wanted it, but I played it for a bit and liked it so I bought it.

  39. Ahem,

Waggle stick, waggle stick, waggle stick, karma, karma, waggle stick.

  40. Sony’s greatest hits:
    “$599 US Dollars!”
“2006 is year of the PS3!”
“People will pay whatever we ask, they’ll get two jobs!”
“2007 is year of the PS3!”
“Backwards Compatibility is an important feature!”
    “Rumble is so last gen!”
“2008 is year of the PS3!”
    “Motion controls are kids stuff!”
“2009 is year of the PS3!”

My opinion on Kinect and Move- There both stupid and a desperate attempt to capture a audience that the Wii has had for the last 4 years.

  42. I think the Kinect is just a little ahead of it’s time. At present I just don’t think they will really be able to do what they want to do. Ten or twenty years from now I see something like Kinect actually working.

It is kind of like the wireless controllers for the Atari. They were bulky and had a big antenna coming out of one end. But now wireless controllers are standard.

  43. In these comments: people give their opinion on things they’ve never tried, played or even researched slightly.

    Standard for SDF, of course.

  44. Because you would NEVER judge a product that you’ve never played.

In the previous article’s comments, I believe it was you who was slamming the very video this article features.

Feel free to backtrack, if its good enough for Sony, its good enough for you!

  45. I wonder when the SDF is gonna post about how Move is failing to Move in the US, which is the territory that can and will make or break a console maker.

  46. Heh, at this point it’s Sony and Microsoft fighting for SECOND place.
    Nintendo beat all this gen.

  47. From a certain website that SDF won’t let anyone post links too as the truth hurts too much!

“Today, Square Enix posted a job listing for a Final Fantasy Versus XIII “Battle Planner”. Listed in the job requirements are the following requirements: experience developing a 3D action game, knowledge and experience in both level and battle design and “development experience on a PS3, or Xbox 360 package title”.”

Okay PS3tards, you know what to do! Start chanting, “The game sucks anyway!”

  48. Safe to say, it’s over for Move now!
Cult leader Oprah Winfrey plugged Kinect on her show.

  49. And how desperate is this?!
    http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/10/20/limited-edition-disney-pixars-toy-story-3-the-video-game-bundle-for-playstation-2/
PS2 is for lack of a better term, dead! Sony is having so much trouble with the PS3 that they have to go back to selling the PS2.

  50. Lay off the PS2. It was an awesome system. If I had the choice of being stuck on an island and having only three systems they would be the PS2, SNES, and Dreamcast.

  51. Gran Turismo 5 delayed until December 31, 2991, angry, envious Sony boys. LOL

  52. By the way, the latest firmware, 3.50, fucked up most third party controllers, probably including the oh-so-glorious Logitech wheel. Double LOL.

  53. @erik

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Best choices right there.

  54. Just as I suspected!
Most of those Move ‘sales’ are really SHIPPED units.

“Sony Computer Entertainment America says it has shipped—meaning sold to retailers, not necessarily to consumers—”over one million units” of the Move in the first 30 days of availability in North America and Latin America. Sony calls that “rapid adoption” indicative of “widespread consumer interest” in owning more wireless motion control wands.”

LOL! Its the release of the PS3 all over again!
“We shipped MILLIONS of units…those millions of units have been gathering dust on the store shelf while our competitor’s units have been moving off the shelf like crazy…but hey, look over here at this other thing!”

  55. Between this, Microsoft’s half a billion dollar ad campaign for Kinect, Oprah’s plugging Kinect, and the Wii still selling like hotcakes. Move hasn’t got a fucking PRAYER.

I own a 360, and I feel that kinect was a bad idea. however I also think that Microsoft was pressured to put out a product that would compete with the Wii. They may get less than they hoped for, but at least they came up with something more original than the Playstation Move. I do not mind Sony but I think that the Move is a very unoriginal peripheral and is just an evolution of the Wiimote.

    P.S. Hi Infrared

  57. Here’s an article that talks about it, but lists other Sony lies as well.
