Every week we’ll be featuring a reader question from the SDF Mailbags so send in any videogame-related questions you may have using the contact link to the right. This week reader Quintus writes in:
‘I’ve recently just setup a local wireless connection at my apartment. I’m thinking of purchasing a gaming system but I want to hook it up to the internet for online play and downloads but I don’t want a mess of wires from my living room running to my modem. Can you tell me which current consoles and handhelds support wireless?’
Good question Quintus, and no doubt one that is on the lips of many people wanting to enjoy their consoles online from the comfort of their living room. Luckily for you we have a list of consoles that have WiFi (wireless) built in out of the box:
- PS3
- PSP
- Wii
- DS
Yes that’s right even handhelds like DS and PSP have WiFi built in.
XBox 360 doesn’t have WiFi built in but all you have to do is give the world’s most profitable corporation another $100 and this elegant item could be hanging out of your 360 in no time:

Oh and look at that – you get a nice $5 discount from Amazon.

Resident Evil 5 wallpaper is now available on PSN for FREE. Access to PSN is also FREE so what are you waiting for PS3 owners?
360 owners aren’t left out either – after paying $50 they too can access the RE5 goods but for a fee.
That’s right – MS is charging paying subscribers on XBL a fee for content that’s freely available on PSN.
When it comes to online – you get what you pay for right?

The next time someone tells you the PSP has no good games, be sure to point them to this list (courtesy of Neogaf). PSP has, by far, the best games on any portable to date. Want proof? Then check this out…
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror – Third Person Shooter – $20

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror packs an uncommon amount of detail, variety and overall
quality. It blends intense action sequences with stealth in a way no portable game has
before, and it does so with style to spare. It controls well, plays well and generally does
everything right.
WipEout Pure – Futuristic Racer – $20 (also has 12 more downloadable tracks.)

Wipeout Pure is easily one of the finest launch titles available for PSP. The package
comes complete with beautiful visuals, outstandingly polished gameplay, a thumping score,
Wi-Fi multiplayer, and downloadable content. It can be rather difficult at times, so be
wary. But players who give themselves to Wipeout Pure will get plenty back in return. The
race is on, and it couldn’t be much more lovely.
GTA: Vice City Stories – Sandbox – $30

Without even touching on the outstanding soundtrack, pop references like the ’99 Red
Balloons’ you can hunt down, the cameos from characters out of PS2′s Vice City, there is
enough meat to keep fans hooked for months.
